“I got it yesterday,” Reian said after a short pause, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

“Just a clumsy mistake.”

The beautiful girl leaned in closer, her eyes searching his face.Full novel: Attack of the Zombie — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Are you really okay, though?

Does it still hurt right now?”

Reian felt his heart do a little flip.

“Yeah, I’m fine.

It just throbs a little bit, but it’s nothing I can’t handle.” He swallowed hard, trying to get some courage.

“By the way…

I never got your name.

What is it?”

The girl smiled softly.

“I’m Silya.”

“I’m Reian,” he replied, a matching smile breaking across his face.

Before they could say anything more, the loud school bell rang out, echoing through the hallway to signal the next class.

Silya looked up, startled.

Bye, Reian!” She gave him a quick wave and hurried out of the classroom.

Reian stood there like a statue, staring at the doorway long after she had disappeared.

Flame walked up beside him and crossed his arms.

He nudged his brother with his elbow, a teasing smirk on his face.

“Earth to Reian.

You’re staring , bro.

Are we here to learn chemistry or to daydream about girls?”

Reian’s face flushed red.

“Shut up, Flame!” He quickly packed his things to hide his embarrassment.

“Hey, let’s hit up the game store after school today.

I need to blow off some steam.”

Flame shrugged, his smirk widening.

“Sure, why not.

Sounds like a plan.”

Later, during a free period, Reian noticed one student sitting all alone at a lab table, staring blankly at a textbook.

Walking over, Reian tapped the table gently.

“Hey, man.

The boy looked up, looking completely stressed.

“Not much.

Just trying to memorize what the teacher taught earlier, but this one question makes absolutely no sense to me.”

“Let me take a look,” Reian said kindly, pulling up a stool.

“I can help you solve it.”

For the next twenty minutes, Reian carefully broke down the complex chemistry problem step by step.

As they worked through the answer, the boy let out a huge sigh of relief.

“Wow, you make it look so easy.

Thanks a lot.

I’m Beran, by the way.”

“No problem, Beran.

I’m Reian.”

Right then, the final bell of the day rang, signaling the end of school.

Students immediately began cheering and rushing out the doors.

Reian packed his notebook, giving his new classmate a high-five.

“Catch you later, Beran.

Bye!”
