Flame and Reian walked into the neon-lit game store down the street, the familiar sounds of beeps, music, and clacking buttons filling the air.
But the moment Reian stepped inside, his jaw dropped.
Right there, Mashing the buttons at one of the arcade machines, was Silya.
When Silya noticed someone watching her and turned around, her face turned bright red from embarrassment.
She awkwardly let go of the joystick and hid her face in her hands.
“O-Oh!
Reian!
Hi…” She cleared her throat, trying to look cool.
“I…
I just really like playing video games in my free time.
It helps me relax.”
Reian smiled, finding her reaction incredibly cute.
“That’s awesome.
You don’t have to be embarrassed.”
Within minutes, the awkwardness melted away.
Silya, Reian, and even Flame ended up buying a bunch of tokens and playing together.
They raced each other in driving games and teamed up for shooting games, laughing and shouting over the noisy arcade machines until it started getting dark outside. Find the original chapter at novelping.com.
When it was finally time to head out…, they all stepped outside the store.
“Bye, Silya!
See you tomorrow at school,” Reian said with a bright smile, giving her a wave.
“Bye, Reian!” she called back before heading on her way.
Reian and Flame walked the rest of the way back to their apartment, tired but happy.
But the second Flame unlocked the front door and stepped inside, his happy mood vanished.
Silvia was sitting comfortably on the floor, the TV blasting a cartoon, completely surrounded by empty wrappers.
She was currently crunching loudly on a bag of chips.
“Hey!” Flame screamed, his veins practically popping on his forehead.
“Those were my favorite snacks!
I was saving those!”
Silvia looked up, she didn’t even care, though she swallowed her food quickly.
“Sorry,” she mumbled, giving a tiny shrug.
“I got so tired from guarding this apartment all day.
I needed energy.”
Flame’s face twisted into pure rage, his hands shaking as he stared at his ruined snack stash.
“Calm down, bro!
It’s just chips!
She kept the place safe, right?
Let’s just go to sleep.”
After a lot of grumbling from Flame, the apartment finally went dark, and the three of them went to bed.
Meanwhile, across the city, inside a hidden, dimly lit basement, a very different kind of experiment was taking place.
A mysterious, unknown figure stood over a metal table, swirling a strange, glowing chemical compound inside a glass beaker.
The liquid bubbled violently, casting a sinister light over the person’s face.
As the chemical reaction stabilized, a low, creepy laugh echoed through the dark room.
The nightmare was just getting started.
Hey guys!
I’m trying to drop chapters as often as possible to keep the story moving fast.
Just a heads-up though—Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays are super busy days for me with real-life stuff, so I won’t be updating then.
But definitely keep an eye out for chapters on the other days!
Thanks for hanging out with me!
