“A Yi A Yi A Yi…”

Koda was speechless for a moment.

After listening to the beast’s cries for a long while, he actually understood them!Full novel: Avatar: Rise of the Strongest Water Master — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The giant panda was apologizing for its previous actions, explaining why it had attacked him, and offering compensation in exchange for his forgiveness.

The giant panda was originally the spirit of this land.

Because it had not tasted such pure Life Energy in a long time, it could not help itself when it sensed a large mass of pure, natural Life Energy approaching today.

It had grabbed him and started licking—that was the reason Koda had been attacked.

“I’m a soft-hearted person myself.

Seeing your innocent eyes, your pitiful expression, and your willingness to make amends, I feel a bit guilty too.

I’m sure you just couldn’t resist the temptation for a moment.”

The giant panda nodded hurriedly, putting on an even cuter expression.

It tried to lean its head over for Koda to pet, hoping to show its sincerity and use its cuteness to smooth things over.

“But I refuse!” The mood shifted instantly.

The previously lively panda froze, the light gradually fading from its eyes.

After hearing the giant panda’s explanation, Koda knew it was likely friendly.

For a spirit to come and apologize to him was already quite a gesture.

However, he still felt a bit of resentment.

After all, “that” had happened, and he was still stark naked.

Nevertheless, he was very interested in the giant panda’s compensation; a gift from a spirit could not be too bad.

“Tell me about your compensation first.

If it’s not good enough, you won’t get any of that energy in the future.

If I don’t cultivate, don’t even think about eating it; as soon as I recover a bit, I’ll just waste it.” Under his intimidation, the giant panda began to explain the compensation.

“A Yi A Yi A Yi…” it cried out anxiously.

Koda silently translated the beast language in his heart, gradually forming a sentence from the sounds.

“Holy crap, you can teach me how to cultivate Life Energy in the Mortal Realm?” Koda could not help but swear.

Even Father did not know such a method; how could this thing?

He clearly did not believe it.

But then he remembered it was a spirit, so it did not seem entirely impossible.

“You really know how?”

The giant panda stood upright, crossing its arms and looking at the sky at a forty-five-degree angle, letting out an ambiguous nasal snort.

Koda suddenly realized this spirit seemed a bit eccentric.

After posing for a while, its legs seemed unable to support it.

To avoid falling, it returned to all fours, facing Koda.

It seemed its attempt to look cool had failed.

Feeling a bit shy, it slowly turned its head away and pointed its butt at him instead.

What kind of move was this?

Koda had not been this speechless since the day he was born.

Is this a spirit?

This must be a spirit!

Why is it completely different from the spirits in my imagination!

This giant panda had completely destroyed his beautiful image of spirits.

He could only comfort himself mentally: This must be an outlier.

It has to be.

The spirits in my heart could not possibly be this goofy.

He slapped the large white butt in front of him—once on the left, once on the right—and even gave it a firm rub.

What the hell are you being shy for!

Aren’t you a spirit?

A spirit should act like a spirit!”

The big butt wiggled in front of him, as if asking for more pets.

“Where is your dignity?

Where is your dignity as a spirit?” Koda could not take it anymore.

He quickly ran to the front of the giant panda and gave its head a hard smack.

“Stop being shy.

It’s just the two of us here; no one thinks you’re awkward.

Hurry up and teach me how to cultivate in the Mortal Realm.

Not only will I forgive your previous behavior, but I’ll also give you some of this energy.

Hurry.” As he spoke, a small amount of energy that had naturally recovered over the past few hours flickered in his hand.

The giant panda’s eyes welled up with tears after being hit, but the moment it saw the energy in Koda’s hand, it sucked the tears back in and stuck out its tongue, wanting to lick it.

Seeing the giant panda leaning in again, Koda instantly dispersed the energy.

After his recent ordeal, his control over energy had improved by a level.

If he were to experience that again now, he would definitely be able to retract the energy clinging to the outside of his body.

Perhaps this was growth through desperation.

In his eyes, the previous situation was definitely a desperate one; the memory of that tongue licking all over him was more than an ordinary person could bear.

The giant panda pointed to the pile of bamboo hearts it had peeled for Koda.

Its eyes looked a bit aggrieved, like a mistreated little wife, seeing the energy it was about to taste vanish.

“I am indeed a bit hungry.

By the way, can these bamboo hearts be eaten raw?” he asked, looking at the panda.

The panda nodded, pointed to the bamboo skins on the ground, then to its mouth, and grabbed a handful to eat as a demonstration.

This stuff was meant to be eaten.

Koda watched with a face full of black lines.

How could he not know that?

But he did not want to argue too much; after all, it had good intentions.

One bite of the bamboo heart: refreshing, crunchy, and delicious.

It was succulent and juicy, not only filling his stomach but also providing hydration.

Having not had a proper meal in days, he quickly grew fond of the taste.

With every bite, a tiny sliver of energy was absorbed and stored in his dantian.

“As expected of a bamboo forest where a spirit lives.

This bamboo can actually restore Life Energy, though the energy isn’t very pure and the amount is quite small.” He soon finished the small pile of bamboo hearts, a feeling of wanting more lingering in his heart.

He then looked at the giant panda and saw it was still eating.

He criticized it sharply:

“Didn’t you see I’ve finished?

If you’re going to apologize, act like it!

Hurry up and peel some more for me!”

After being scolded by Koda, the silly-cute face was filled with grievance, but it obediently went back to peeling bamboo hearts.

While the giant panda was preparing his midnight snack, Koda walked out of the bamboo forest.

Seeing his luggage and clothing fragments scattered all over the ground, he slowly began to tidy up, though he felt bad for the grass that had been flattened during their struggle.

He used his power to help the grass that had been pressed into a human shape stand upright again before stopping.

Unless it was a special circumstance, he would not intentionally harm plants; this was a habit formed over many years in the Great Swamp.

Since he would likely need to stay here for a while to learn how to cultivate in the Mortal Realm, he decided not to put on clothes for now.

He had another set of clothes prepared in his basket for emergencies, but since no one was around to see, he felt more comfortable without the restriction of clothing.

“A Yi, go pick some wild fruit for me.

I’m not eating bamboo hearts today.

I’ve eaten them for two months straight; even the best food gets tiring.”

On his second day at the grasslands, Koda had given it the name “A Yi,” because the panda always made “A Yi A Yi” sounds when it spoke.

During these two months, he had figured out that he was drawn here because of A Yi’s nature as a spirit.

However, he did not know why Life Energy was attracted to A Yi.

“Maybe all spirits are like that?

I’m not sure; I haven’t met a second spirit yet.”

The mystery remained unsolved.

What was exciting, however, was that his energy units had reached nineteen, and he had a faint feeling of an impending breakthrough.

As expected of a place where a spirit resided, the cultivation speed was incredible; two months here was equivalent to two years in the Swamp Forest.

His age had also officially reached ten years old, up from nine years and ten months.

More importantly, he had learned how to cultivate in places where Life Energy was not abundant.

And that was—”Entering the Spirit World.”

One had to admit that A Yi was indeed a spirit.

In terms of teaching how to cultivate Life Energy, even Father was far inferior.

When he manifested the Spirit World himself, he could currently only manage an area about the size of a small wooden hut.

Such a range was enough for him to cultivate inside.

If he were pulled into the natural Spirit World by someone else, that would be a different story; he could roam naturally without restriction.

He would have to leave tomorrow, but he had not rushed to tell A Yi.

Over these two months, he and A Yi had eaten and lived together, becoming inseparable.

As the spirit of this place, A Yi could not leave; it had to ensure the peace of this region.

“Sigh…

I’ll tell A Yi tomorrow when I’m about to leave.” He was used to such parting scenes; as a traveler, he could not stay in one place for long.

A moment later, A Yi came galloping back from not far away, cradling wild fruits in one paw while the other three paws scrambled across the ground.

“A Yi A Yi A Yi…” As soon as it put the fruit down, its paws danced in the air as it spoke impatiently.

“I know!

I know!

What’s the rush?” Koda condensed a small ball of rainbow energy in his hands and pressed it into the wild fruit, which A Yi gulped down in one bite.

He increasingly felt that A Yi was not a panda, but a dog—the Husky kind.
