Chapter 7: Spirit Communion

Awakening the Useless Class...But I am Secretly the Strongest!

Ryan’s attention returned to Elemental Communion.

He rubbed his chin and muttered,

"The Orc Shaman Chief most likely got the Spirit Wolf because of his wind affinity and the Spirit Serpent because of his poison affinity. Those summons probably came from this skill."

He paused for a moment.

"Then what kind of spirits can I summon with my own affinities? Actually... what affinities do I even have?"

Curious, Ryan tapped on Elemental Communion to view its detailed information.

A new screen appeared before him.

Elemental Communion (Rare) - Level 10

Detected Affinities:

Ice (Unlocked)

Locked Affinities:

Soul

Death

Life

Space

Time

Dimension

Note: The type of elemental or spiritual summons available depends on the user’s unlocked affinities.

Ryan stared at the screen for several seconds.

"...What?"

He blinked a few more times to make sure he wasn’t reading it wrong.

"I have all of these affinities?"

Soul.

Death.

Life.

Space.

Time.

Dimension.

Every one of them was an extremely rare affinity that most people had never even heard of.

The only one currently unlocked was Ice.

"How did I end up with these?"

He thought about it for a while before one possibility came to mind.

"It might have something to do with my reincarnation."

There was no other explanation he could think of. After all, he had memories from another world. Perhaps something had changed when his soul crossed worlds.

Still, there was no point dwelling on it.

"What matters is that they’re all locked."

He examined the locked icons, but no matter how many times he tapped them, they refused to reveal any additional information.

Ryan leaned back against the cave wall.

"Well, I can always kill another high-level Orc Shaman Chief or another powerful shaman monster and obtain a higher-ranked version of Elemental Communion through Perfect Loot."

If the skill’s rank increased, perhaps it would unlock one of the hidden affinities.

His curiosity immediately began running wild.

"I wonder what a Time Spirit would be like."

"Or a Space Spirit."

"A Life Spirit should be able to heal almost anything."

"A Death Spirit would probably specialize in curses and instant-kill abilities."

"But the one I’m most curious about is the Soul Spirit."

Ryan had no idea what kind of abilities a Soul Spirit would possess, but considering how rare the Soul affinity was, he doubted it would be anything ordinary.

For now, however, those possibilities would have to wait.

Only the Ice Affinity was available, meaning it was the only spirit he could currently summon through Elemental Communion.

Ryan looked at the Ice Affinity and pressed the summon button.

A notification immediately appeared.

[Would you like to summon an Ice Spirit?]

[Yes / No]

Ryan selected Yes.

The notification disappeared.

Cold mana immediately gathered in front of him as the temperature inside the cave rapidly dropped.

Tiny snowflakes began to fall from the air.

The icy mana condensed into a small ball of light before slowly taking shape.

A few seconds later, the light faded.

Standing in front of Ryan was a small white polar bear.

It was about the size of a puppy with soft white fur and bright blue eyes. Growing from the top of its head was a pair of beautiful icy antlers that shimmered like crystal. Frost slowly spread beneath its paws with every step it took.

The little creature looked around curiously before its gaze landed on Ryan.

The little polar bear rubbed its head against his chest before letting out a cheerful growl.

Ryan couldn’t help but smile.

"So you’re my Ice Spirit."

The little bear nodded as if it understood his words.

Ryan placed it on the ground before opening its status.

Name: none

Race: lesser Ice Spirit

Rank: Common

Level: 1

Attribute: Ice

Health: 100/100

Mana: 200/200

Skills:

Frost Claw

Ice Breath

Mana Absorption

Ryan carefully read through its information.

Unlike the Spirit Wolf and Spirit Serpent, this spirit was just a small level 1 creature at this stage.

But just like them it can also grow stronger by absorbing ice type materials or monster cores.

Ryan looked down at the little polar bear.

The Ice Spirit looked back at him with bright eyes before wagging its short tail.

"I guess I should give you a name, huh?" Ryan muttered.

The little polar bear tilted its head and looked at him with its bright blue eyes.

Ryan smiled.

"Damn... you’re too cute."

He gently rubbed its head.

"If my sister saw you, she’d never let you go."

The little bear happily nuzzled his hand.

Ryan thought for a few moments before snapping his fingers.

"Okay, from now on, your name is Blizzy."

As soon as the words left his mouth, a notification appeared.

[The name ’Blizzy’ has been assigned to your Ice Spirit.]

Blizzy let out a happy growl before jumping into Ryan’s arms again.

Ryan laughed and scratched behind its ears.

"All right, take a rest."

With a thought, Blizzy turned into countless blue particles and disappeared, returning to its spirit space.

Ryan then stood up.

"Okay, let’s see."

"I have better stats."

"I have new skills."

"And now I even have better equipment."

He opened his inventory and equipped the Orc Shaman Set.

The light armor disappeared, replaced by a dark tribal robe decorated with bone ornaments and blue spirit crystals. He also equipped the Orc Shaman Staff, which was carved from an mahagony tree trunk and decorated with monster bones and glowing blue gemstones.

Ryan looked down at himself.

"I might be the weirdest Awakened in the Tower."

"I’m a Knight, but I’m running around dressed like a Shaman."

He chuckled before leaving the cave.

This time, he didn’t bother hiding his presence.

Instead, he raised his staff.

"Come out."

A magic circle appeared beside him.

A long spirit serpent emerged from it.

The serpent had a dark green body covered in translucent scales. Poison energy flowed around its fangs, and its golden eyes carefully watched the surroundings.

Ryan glanced at the floating name above its head.

Spirit Serpent

He stared at it for a second before sighing.

"The orcs really had a terrible naming sense."
