“You—”

Seeing that the woman was getting even more aggressive, Su Wanyin widened her fox-like eyes and was just about to speak when a tall figure suddenly stepped in front of her.

Fu Shimo’s cold eyes swept toward the woman. Looking at the tall, imposing man before her, the fat woman’s arrogant attitude instantly disappeared. She shrank back and hurried into the carriage.

Watching the woman scurry away like a rat, the anger in Su Wanyin’s heart finally eased a little.

“Go find your seat.”

After speaking in a low voice, Fu Shimo stepped ahead of her and quietly cleared a path through the crowd.

Su Wanyin followed behind, but halfway there she suddenly glared at his back.

Who was the child here? And he even took advantage of the situation by calling himself her guardian!

After passing through two carriages, Su Wanyin found her seat. It was beside the aisle. A fashionable woman with curled hair and elegant makeup was already sitting by the window, while the middle seat remained empty.

“Fu Shimo” carried her large luggage for her, while she herself only carried a small canvas bag with food and water, so she didn’t need to store anything.

She simply sat down holding the bag.

Not long after, a white-haired old grandmother carrying a black cloth bundle slowly walked over and pointed at the empty seat beside her.

Su Wanyin quickly stood up to make room. But just then, a child suddenly dashed forward behind the old woman.

Reacting quickly, Su Wanyin grabbed the old woman just in time.

The old woman swayed slightly and only managed to steady herself with Su Wanyin’s support. Looking back at the child who had already skipped far away, she immediately understood what happened and smiled gratefully at Su Wanyin.

“Thank you, little girl.”

After sitting down, the old woman took out a small bag of dried sweet potatoes from her black bundle and handed it over.

“I made these myself. Try some.”

“It’s alright, you should eat them yourself. I already ate before boarding,” Su Wanyin politely refused.

The old woman froze for a moment before suddenly realizing something. She took out one piece and bit into it herself, smiling.

“I made these myself. There’s nothing strange mixed in, and they won’t upset your stomach. I just wanted to thank you.”

“Thank you.”

Seeing the sincere warmth in the old woman’s eyes, Su Wanyin finally accepted it, though she only placed it into her canvas bag without eating it.

The old woman didn’t mind and happily chatted casually with her for a while.

At this moment, the empty seats across from them were finally filled.

Two young men and one middle-aged woman.

Coincidentally, the middle-aged woman was seated by the aisle. The moment she sat down and saw Su Wanyin, her expression changed slightly before she let out a cold snort.

Su Wanyin also recognized her as the rude fat woman from earlier. She immediately turned to look out the window at the scenery passing by, unwilling to look at that fleshy face.

Meanwhile, the two young men sitting opposite kept glancing back and forth between Su Wanyin and the fashionable woman by the window before ultimately focusing on Su Wanyin, who appeared gentler and more approachable.

The girl gazing out the train window had a pale, delicate face no larger than a palm. Her side profile was beautifully smooth, and the tiny beauty mark beside her dazzling fox-like eyes made her look both seductive and captivating.

The two men stared so intently they forgot to blink, their breathing faltering slightly.

Encouraged by his friend, the more handsome and refined-looking young man in the middle finally gathered the courage to speak.

“Comrade, are you also heading to the capital?”

Su Wanyin turned her head and met the man’s flushed face, giving only a faint nod.

The young man’s heart leaped with joy as he continued,

“We’re going to the capital too. Where exactly are you headed?”

This time, Su Wanyin didn’t answer. She simply turned away and closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.

The two young men hadn’t expected her to be so cold and awkwardly fell silent.

The fat woman snorted disdainfully at Su Wanyin’s act and couldn’t help but interrupt.

“Don’t bother with her. This girl has absolutely no manners or upbringing.”

“You certainly have upbringing,” Su Wanyin slowly lifted her eyelids and glanced at the woman with narrowed fox-like eyes before leisurely adding,

“You’re practically your own household registration book. Of course your family rules are made by yourself.”

The fat woman’s smug smile had just appeared when she finally realized something was wrong with the second half of the sentence. Her face turned green as she glared at the girl now sitting upright opposite her.

“You little brat, how dare you curse me!”

“I didn’t. I’m not like certain aunties with low morals and terrible manners.”

A cold smile played at the corners of Su Wanyin’s lips as she calmly looked at her.

“You little bitch!”

The fat woman clutched her chest in anger and abruptly stood up, preparing to attack Su Wanyin.

Unexpectedly, the old grandmother sitting diagonally across from them stood up first to stop her.

“Oh dear, why argue with a child? If the railway police get involved later, it won’t be good.”

The fat woman impatiently raised her hand, about to shove the old woman aside, but froze when she heard the last sentence.

She snorted at Su Wanyin.

“Hmph, I’ll let you off this time for the old lady’s sake!”

“No need. Do you think I’m afraid of you?”

Su Wanyin had long wanted to teach this woman a lesson. She was exactly the type who relied on being older and physically bigger to bully others.

“Everyone look! See how arrogant this rude girl is?”

The fat woman pointed at Su Wanyin while shouting to the surrounding passengers.

Everyone in the carriage turned to look at them. Seeing the aggressive woman and then the innocent-looking young girl, many people began showing doubtful expressions.

From the back row, Huo Wei noticed the commotion and couldn’t help asking the man beside him,

“Should we go help?”

Fu Shimo lifted his eyes to look at the girl’s frail, slender back and lowered his gaze thoughtfully for a moment.

“Let’s watch a little longer.”

Huo Wei understood that his superior still wanted to observe further. His lips moved as if wanting to say something, but he ultimately stayed silent.

Meanwhile, Su Wanyin looked back calmly with her clear black-and-white eyes and chuckled softly.

“I wonder who’s really rude. Calling people ‘little brat’ every other sentence, and earlier you were squeezing onto the train like you were rushing to reincarnate.”

The moment she said that, many passengers who had also been shoved by the fat woman while boarding suddenly remembered and immediately looked at the woman suspiciously.

The scrutiny from the crowd infuriated the fat woman even more. Raising her hand, she swung toward Su Wanyin.

“You little gossiping bitch!”

The people on both sides, afraid of getting hit themselves, quickly stood up and rushed over to stop her.

Watching the woman flail wildly, Su Wanyin sneered and was just about to stand when, without warning, a frail body was shoved toward her in the chaos.

“Stop—”

“Someone fainted! Stop pushing! Hurry and help!”

Struggling to support the old grandmother’s heavy body, Su Wanyin ended up pinned underneath her, barely able to breathe as she called out desperately for help.

Everyone froze and looked toward her.

When they saw the unconscious old woman collapsed on top of the girl, several people widened their eyes in shock. They exchanged glances but hesitated to step forward.

Everyone was afraid of being held responsible. After merely shouting for a train attendant from the next carriage, they quickly returned to their seats, not daring to watch or help.

Seeing no one willing to lend a hand, Su Wanyin’s heart turned cold.

Grinding her teeth, she took a deep breath and struggled to keep the old woman from sliding further down.

At that moment, the glamorous fashionable woman sitting by the window suddenly stood up and reached out to help lift the old grandmother off Su Wanyin.

Once the weight was gone and she could sit upright again, Su Wanyin quickly helped the woman support the unconscious grandmother back into the seat.

“Thank you.”

Su Wanyin looked up and thanked her before immediately lifting the old woman’s eyelids and carefully checking her pulse.

Seeing her actions, the fat woman across from them sneered mockingly.

“What does a little girl like you know? Hurry up and get the train attendant over here instead!”
