Lu Mosheng slept very restlessly that night.

In her dream, she was pulled into the spiritual spring space.

Immediately afterward, the spring water began behaving strangely, as though it were trying to warn her about something.Full novel: Back to the 1980s: The Beautiful Wife Who Won Her Rugged Husband’s Heart — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

When she woke up, her entire body was drenched in sweat.

For some reason, one person suddenly came to mind.

Shen Dusong.

She remembered that Shen Dusong, a renowned expert in traditional Chinese medicine, had returned to his hometown to visit family around this time in her previous life. An accident had occurred, and as a result, one of his legs had been permanently disabled.

The following morning, Lu Mosheng made an excuse that she wanted to get some fresh air and asked Song Jiayan to accompany her.

After leaving the health clinic, Lu Mosheng first sent Song Jiayan to buy two steamed buns. Once she felt the timing was right, she led him toward their destination.

“Something terrible has happened! Someone’s been run over!”

“There’s blood everywhere! It’s horrifying!”

Looking up, Lu Mosheng saw a large crowd gathered at a street corner in the distance.

She pulled Song Jiayan toward the scene.

There, Shen Dusong lay on the ground, covered in blood. Although many people had gathered to watch, not a single person had stepped forward to help him.

The same thing had happened in her previous life. Because everyone had stood by and watched, Shen Dusong’s rescue had been delayed, ultimately costing him the use of one leg.

Lu Mosheng turned to ask Song Jiayan to help, but before she could say anything, he had already pushed through the crowd and lifted the blood-covered Shen Dusong into his arms.

Following close behind Song Jiayan, Lu Mosheng urged him, “We need to get him to the health clinic as quickly as possible!”

Song Jiayan had strong, muscular arms, so carrying Shen Dusong was no problem for him.

Fortunately, the health clinic wasn’t far away. They rushed there at full speed, and Lu Mosheng immediately called for a doctor. Before long, Shen Dusong was taken into the emergency room.

Lu Mosheng finally breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing the sweat on Song Jiayan’s forehead, she raised her hand and gently wiped it away.

An hour later, the emergency room doors opened, and Shen Dusong was wheeled out.

He regained consciousness while lying in bed.

The nurse spoke to him, saying, “These are the two people who brought you here. If they’d arrived any later, your leg might not have been saved.”

Shen Dusong weakly turned his gaze toward Song Jiayan and Lu Mosheng.

“Thank you for saving my life.”

Just then, Bai Xing hurried into the room, panting heavily.

“I finally found you, Brother Jiayan! Something terrible has happened! The Chinese skullcap in the fields has been destroyed!”

Upon hearing this, Song Jiayan immediately strode out of the health clinic.

Lu Mosheng frowned deeply and followed him back to the small hut. When they arrived, they discovered that a large portion of the Chinese skullcap crop had indeed been destroyed.

Looking at the ruined plants, Lu Mosheng finally understood what the spiritual spring had been trying to warn her about.

Moreover, judging by the damage, it was obvious that someone had deliberately destroyed the crops.

She glanced sideways at Song Jiayan. His brows were knitted tightly together, forming a deep crease between them, and his hands hung at his sides, clenched into fists.

These crops represented more than half a year’s worth of hard work. Now, all that effort had been ruined in an instant.

“We should report this to the police first,” Lu Mosheng said.

Standing nearby, Bai Xing immediately chimed in, “What good will reporting it do? Just look at the state of the fields! We’ve invested tens of thousands of yuan into this, and now it’s all gone down the drain!”

As she spoke, Bai Xing shot Lu Mosheng a sidelong glance.

“If Brother Jiayan hadn’t taken you to the health clinic yesterday, someone would have been watching the fields. Then this might not have happened…”

Lu Mosheng interrupted her and looked directly into her eyes.

“We’re reporting it because I want to find out who destroyed the Chinese skullcap. Besides, that money won’t simply go to waste.”

Bai Xing looked at her skeptically.

“The crops are already ruined. How can you possibly sell them? Or are you saying you have some way to bring these plants back to life?”

Lu Mosheng didn’t answer Bai Xing’s question. Instead, she turned to Song Jiayan.

“Do you trust me?”

Song Jiayan didn’t give her a verbal answer, but he let out a quiet hum from his throat.

Bai Xing was unconvinced.

She wanted to see for herself whether Lu Mosheng could really bring the ruined Chinese skullcap back to life.

Of course, Lu Mosheng couldn’t actually resurrect the destroyed plants. However, thanks to the spiritual spring water, the Chinese skullcap had already grown nearly to maturity.

She could use the remaining crop to make something else instead—for example, toothpaste.
