Not far to the right of the Spiritual Spring Well stood two houses—two modern houses whose exteriors were exactly the same as the ones Qin Ziqi had bought in Shanghai.

Qin Ziqi’s heart began pounding wildly, and her feet moved toward them almost involuntarily. When she saw a door identical to the one in her own home, she took a deep breath before opening it and stepping inside.

The entryway, living room, bedrooms—it was truly her three-bedroom apartment. Everything inside was exactly the same. She had no idea how this was possible.Full novel: Back to the ’70s: I Kicked Out My Scumbag Ex and Became the Darling of the Era — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The refrigerator was still powered on. She tested the induction stove, and it worked too. Even all the food in the refrigerator was still there.

Qin Ziqi hurried over to the neighboring house.

Her laboratory, living room, study, and master bedroom were all there. All her research materials and equipment were there too.

Wonderful!

She could continue doing research here in the future.

There were so many medicinal herbs outside. She could learn how to make traditional Chinese medicines from them.

After closing the door of the smaller house, Qin Ziqi returned to the larger one.

With the space being this incredible, how could she possibly fail to make good use of it?

She happily took a shower inside the space.

While checking the wound on her head in the bathroom, she discovered that it had already scabbed over.

Another dose of the Spiritual Spring water would probably heal it completely.

But there was no need to rush. Since it wasn’t affecting her daily life, she could heal it later.

After drinking a glass of milk from the refrigerator, Qin Ziqi left the space.

The box that had held the jade gourd was now empty.

She put the other boxes and the money into the space as well, using her thoughts to place them inside the remaining empty room of the larger house.

Now that her two houses had come with her, Qin Ziqi had no worries about her future life.

She could still become a surgeon again, conduct pharmaceutical research, and strive to advance Huaguo’s medical technology by several decades so that the country would no longer have to rely on imported medicines.

Qin Ziqi suddenly remembered the old residence from the original owner’s memories.

There were even more things hidden there.

Now she could simply put everything into her space.

She would wait until everyone in the household was asleep that night.

Qin Ziqi leaned against the bed and casually picked up a book from the desk, reading it absentmindedly to pass the time.

She waited until late at night.

Finally, her watch showed that it was already ten o’clock, and there was no longer any sound coming from outside her bedroom.

Qin Ziqi quietly opened the door.

But when she passed Yao Zheng and Zhao Xinhua’s bedroom, she heard voices coming from inside.

Qin Ziqi stopped.

“Brother Zheng, what kind of dowry are you planning to give our Zhenzhen tomorrow?”

Zhao Xinhua’s voice was sticky and cloying.

Qin Ziqi rubbed her arms.

At their age, weren’t they embarrassed to talk like this?

Qin Ziqi’s eyes turned, and she used her mind to take a voice recorder from her own house in the space.

She turned it on and stuck it against the door.

“Just give her more money to keep as private savings. Didn’t you already prepare the bedding and things like that?”

“Is that all? Does the Lu family even care about those things?” Zhao Xinhua’s voice suddenly rose. “Zhenzhen is your biological daughter and my biological daughter too! She was our first child! You’ve already been absent from her life for so many years. Now that she’s getting married, you’re not even giving her a single piece of jewelry as part of her dowry?”

“Why are you shouting? Be careful someone hears you.”

“What are you afraid of? Your wealthy daughter went to bed a long time ago. Besides, Zhenzhen knows better than to say anything. Even if the two younger ones hear us, they wouldn’t go around talking about it.”

“What jewelry do I have? Qin Xueman and her father handed everything directly to Zheng Zhongyao and Ziqi back then. I never handled any of it.”

Yao Zheng’s tone was somewhat harsh.

He probably truly resented the situation.

“I don’t care. Think of something. That dead girl must have some things in her room. Find a way to get them. You can’t just ignore our own daughter.”

“You don’t need to keep reminding me that Zhenzhen is my biological daughter. I know she’s my daughter. I’ll think about it.”

Qin Ziqi turned off the recorder.

Looks like she had found a way to sever ties with them as well.

Qin Ziqi took off her shoes and walked downstairs barefoot.

Once she reached the courtyard, she took Yao Zheng’s bicycle and rode toward the abandoned Qin family residence.

After roughly fifteen minutes of cycling, she arrived at the old house from the original owner’s memories.

Qin Ziqi once again experienced the effects of the Spiritual Spring water.

She had ridden this old bicycle for fifteen minutes, yet she didn’t feel tired at all.

It was as easy as breathing.

She entered the old residence, took out the key the original owner had hidden, turned on her flashlight, and walked inside.

The house was already badly dilapidated.

Following her memories, she entered one of the rooms.

All the furniture inside had fallen apart and was damaged. Against the wall stood a wardrobe, with one of its doors hanging crookedly.

Qin Ziqi put on a pair of gloves and slowly pushed the wardrobe aside.

Although it was empty, it was made of solid wood and still quite heavy.

Yet Qin Ziqi only used half her strength to push it aside.

The wall behind the wardrobe was revealed.

Qin Ziqi shone her flashlight over it and felt along the bricks one by one.

When she touched one particular brick, she felt a small protrusion.

She pressed it.

“Click—rumble…”

The wall slowly moved to one side, revealing a door.

Qin Ziqi shone her flashlight through it.

There was a staircase.

She followed the stairs downward, where she found another doorway.

The moment she entered, Qin Ziqi saw at least a hundred wooden crates.

Some were brown, some black, and others were natural wood in color. Each was about half a meter wide.

She casually opened one of the brown crates.

Qin Ziqi was nearly blinded by the sight.

An entire crate was filled with gold bars.

She opened the one beside it.

Gold bars again.

She had no idea how many crates of gold there were in total.

She opened one of the black crates.

Inside were jade, gemstones, jewelry, and all kinds of ornaments piled together haphazardly.

The second black crate was the same.

It seemed the brown crates contained gold bars, while the black ones held jewelry, gemstones, and jade.

She opened one of the natural-wood crates.

Inside were antiques, calligraphy, and paintings.

The most unusual was a milky-white crate.

When she opened it, it was filled entirely with ten-yuan bills, bundled in stacks of ten.

Qin Ziqi counted them.

Each layer contained one hundred bundles, totaling 10,000 yuan.

There were ten layers.

That meant 100,000 yuan in total.

Qin Ziqi counted the crates.

There were fifty brown crates, twenty black crates, forty natural-wood crates, and one white crate.

A total of 111 crates.

She used her mind to move every single one into the houses inside her space.

Then she left the secret chamber, restored the wall, pushed the wardrobe back into place, and rode the bicycle back to the small Western-style house.

When she went upstairs, there was no sound coming from Yao Zheng’s room either.

They were probably already asleep.

Qin Ziqi returned to her bedroom, locked the door, and entered the space.

The empty room in the three-bedroom house was now completely filled with crates.

Qin Ziqi could barely find anywhere to step.

After thinking for a moment, she cleared the furniture from the second bedroom—the room where the scumbag had lived—and moved it outside the house.

Then she moved the brown crates into the second bedroom.

One on top of another, they automatically arranged themselves neatly.

Only then could Qin Ziqi enter the small room.

She opened the black crates and carefully rummaged through them, eventually selecting five pieces of pure-gold jewelry.

The designs were decent, but they looked rather nouveau riche.

She placed the five pieces into boxes.

She had only freed up these boxes by taking out the jewelry from her safe and moving it into the space.

The jewelry in her safe was much more delicate and beautiful.

She couldn’t use those as bait.

If they got damaged, she would be heartbroken.

After washing up briefly, Qin Ziqi took the five boxes and placed them inside the now-empty safe.

She didn’t put the ten-yuan bills inside.
