At night, to prevent any unexpected situations, the two decided to take turns keeping watch. Cheng Min was too sleepy to bear it, so he went to sleep first.
“When it’s time, don’t forget to wake me up,” Cheng Min yawned as he walked into the tent.
“Got it, brother,” Shen Jianze’s voice came from behind, “Go rest.”
The space inside the tent wasn’t big. Cheng Min curled up in a corner, covered with Shen Jianze’s jacket. Perhaps because he was too tired, he quickly lost consciousness.
In a half-asleep state, he felt a hand groping around his body, seemingly searching for something. He frowned and turned over.
Soon, the hand followed, becoming more and more excessive.
Annoyed by the disturbance, Cheng Min slowly opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was a pair of light blue eyes, filled with undisguised desire.
It seemed Shen Jianze hadn’t expected Cheng Min to wake up at this moment. He was visibly stunned, but after realizing it, he acted as if nothing had happened and leaned in to kiss him.
Cheng Min endured Shen Jianze’s actions until he couldn’t take it anymore.
Breathing heavily, Cheng Min pushed Shen Jianze away, wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, and frowned at the innocent-looking Shen Jianze beside him.
“Brother?” Shen Jianze returned to his usual self, smiling, “You don’t like it? It’s quite comfortable.”
Just as he was about to speak, an inexplicable feeling of displeasure surged in his heart, blocking the words he wanted to say to Shen Jianze.
“What’s wrong?” Shen Jianze looked panicked, quickly pulling Cheng Min into his arms, placing a hand on his forehead, “Why do you look so pale?”
Cheng Min shook his head, closed his eyes, and nestled in Shen Jianze’s arms, feeling much more comfortable with the faint scent.
The two maintained this position, neither moving, until after some time, when Cheng Min seemed fine, Shen Jianze laid him down and covered him with the jacket.
“Don’t go.” Seeing him get up to leave, Cheng Min quickly grabbed Shen Jianze’s arm, rarely pleading, “I need you.”
Shen Jianze raised an eyebrow, returning to Cheng Min’s side, “Brother, are you sure?”
“Mm.” Cheng Min got up, instinctively snuggling into Shen Jianze’s arms, taking a deep breath of the faint scent.
A hand appeared at his waist, holding him tightly. Cheng Min glanced at it and then looked away, silently allowing Shen Jianze’s small actions.
“Brother.” Shen Jianze leaned in, kissing his cheek, “Feeling better?”
“Mm.” Cheng Min nodded.
When Cheng Min woke up, Shen Jianze was already gone, and it was broad daylight outside. In the distance, the occasional roar of zombies could be heard.
It seemed they couldn’t stay here much longer and needed to leave quickly.
Thinking this, Cheng Min sat up, rubbed his temples, and planned to go out to find Shen Jianze.
Just then, Shen Jianze returned, pulling out some crystal stones from his pocket, which were a favorite food of mutants, and handed them to Cheng Min, “Here.”
Using the crystal stones as breakfast, Cheng Min naturally didn’t refuse. He took them and, in front of Shen Jianze, popped them into his mouth one by one.
After a simple chew, he swallowed them.
“Is it good?” Shen Jianze stared intently at Cheng Min, his gaze a bit off.
Cheng Min nodded.
“As long as brother likes it.” He smiled, reaching out to wipe the crystal stone crumbs from Cheng Min’s lips and directly put them into his own mouth.
“Why did you eat it?” Cheng Min was stunned by this action, his eyes wide, “This is food for mutants, not suitable for ordinary people.”
“I know.” Shen Jianze blinked innocently, smiling, “But I really like the things brother eats. They’re so sweet, I can’t resist.”
Cheng Min: “…”
After breakfast, with a simple rest, the two set off again, continuing to search for their lost teammates.
This mountain road was very quiet. They had walked so far and had seen very few living creatures. Yet, with Shen Jianze, a chatterbox, by his side, it didn’t feel boring.
Suddenly, Cheng Min stopped. Shen Jianze’s attention was entirely on himself, still talking non-stop, so he had to take matters into his own hands.
He directly covered Shen Jianze’s mouth and signaled with his eyes for him to look ahead. Shen Jianze blinked, his eyes still fixed on Cheng Min, completely ignoring his words.
Feeling his palm getting wet, Cheng Min quickly withdrew his hand and wiped it on Shen Jianze’s clothes, “Are you a dog? Why are you licking people?”
“Do you like this kind of dog?” Shen Jianze ignored the question and instead asked Cheng Min, “Brother, you wouldn’t dislike me, right?”
A strange sense of loss came from his heart. Cheng Min clutched his chest, forcing himself to nod at Shen Jianze, “I don’t dislike you.” He paused, adding, “I like you the most.”
“I knew it.” As soon as he said this, Shen Jianze’s eyes lit up, and he pounced, hugging Cheng Min tightly, rubbing his head against him while saying, “Brother is so pretty and amazing. I like you the most too.”
Cheng Min felt a bit embarrassed by his words, coughed a few times, and pushed Shen Jianze away, pointing to the situation ahead, “Wait here for me, I’ll be right back.”
“Are you going to save them?” Shen Jianze frowned, grabbing Cheng Min’s arm, “Can’t you not go? It’s dangerous.”
“Mm.” Shen Jianze nodded, telling him, “I can’t just watch them die.”
“I’ll worry about you.” Shen Jianze still wouldn’t let go of Cheng Min, his tone even more aggrieved, “What if you get hurt?”
“It’ll be fine.” Cheng Min kept reassuring him, “It’s just a few zombies, easy to handle.”
“Okay.” Seeing Cheng Min’s determination, Shen Jianze reluctantly nodded, letting go of Cheng Min, “Be careful, I’ll wait for you here.”
“Mm.”
After settling Shen Jianze, ensuring he wouldn’t interfere, Cheng Min turned his gaze forward. Not far away, an RV was parked in the middle of the road, surrounded by dozens of zombies.
His eyesight was excellent. Through the rear window of the RV, he could see the panicked expressions of the people inside and their trembling hands holding weapons.
It was time. Cheng Min didn’t wait any longer, pulling out the weapon from his back, slowly approaching the RV. The zombie horde noticed him, abandoning their target to attack him instead.
Using his physical prowess, he quickly dodged the zombies lunging at him. As he was about to attack, he swiftly killed them, pulling out his weapon again to target the other zombies.
In just a few minutes, all the zombies were down, no longer moving. Cheng Min put away his weapon, panting as he wiped the sweat from his face.
“Brother.” At this moment, Shen Jianze ran over, pulling out a bottle of water from his backpack, opening it, and handing it to Cheng Min, “Drink some water.”
“Okay.” Cheng Min naturally took the water from Shen Jianze and drank it.
The people inside the RV noticed the situation outside, opened the door, and four people came out one after another, looking about the same age as Shen Jianze.
Just over twenty.
When Cheng Min shared his thoughts with Shen Jianze, he was uncharacteristically silent, looking at him seriously, “I’m twenty-three.”
“Oh.” Cheng Min awkwardly smiled, looking elsewhere, “Only two years younger than me.”
“Yeah.” Shen Jianze nodded, “So, I’m the most suitable for brother.”
Cheng Min didn’t say anything about this, just nodded.
“Thank you.” A pink-haired boy walked over, smiling at the two, “If it weren’t for you, we might have died here today.”
“No problem.” Cheng Min withdrew his hand, smiling, “Just a small favor.”
“By the way.” Another boy stepped forward, his gaze falling on Cheng Min and Shen Jianze, “Where are you headed?”
Cheng Min thought for a moment, feeling there was nothing to hide, and told them their destination.
“Damn.” One of the people who hadn’t spoken before finally did, “What a coincidence, we’re also planning to go to City H.” Saying this, he walked up, familiarly putting an arm around Cheng Min’s shoulder, “Want to go together? It could save a lot of time.”
While considering, the arm on his shoulder was roughly pulled away. Cheng Min was stunned, turning to look.
Shen Jianze rarely showed such a dark expression, his blue eyes filled with anger, glaring at the people in front of him with a desire to tear them apart.
The next second, Cheng Min was yanked hard, and before he knew it, he was pulled into Shen Jianze’s embrace, an arm tightly around his waist.
Making him unable to move.
None of them expected this situation, and the scene fell into a dead silence. With no other choice, Cheng Min had to choose to appease Shen Jianze.
After thinking it through, Cheng Min suppressed the rising irritation in his heart, patiently leaning to Shen Jianze’s ear, coaxing him, “Do you still want a kiss?”
“I do.” Shen Jianze seemed to be thinking, and after a few seconds, he swallowed, saying fiercely, “But that disgusting thing dared to hug you.”
“It was just a hug,” Cheng Min hesitated for a moment, then softly said, “It’s no big deal.”
“Of course it is.” His chin was roughly grabbed, meeting Shen Jianze’s cold gaze, “You’re all smelly now, it’s disgusting.”
“I…” Cheng Min was startled by his gaze, quickly lowering his eyes, rubbing his face against Shen Jianze’s fingers in a fawning manner, “I’ll… I’ll wash it clean, then I’ll smell nice. I’ll take a bath tonight.”
“But it’ll still be dirty.” Shen Jianze tilted his head, his eyes red, “I hate dirty things the most. Does brother not like me anymore, doing this to show me?”
Cheng Min’s heart skipped a beat, his body reacting first, hugging Shen Jianze’s neck, softly saying, “No, I like you the most.”
Hearing this, Shen Jianze didn’t respond, his eyes still fixed on Cheng Min, wanting an answer from his mouth.
“Brother, I’m so sad.”
