After putting several kilometers between himself and the camp, Hideki stopped and called into the darkness.
“You can come out now.
I’ve already found you.” His voice echoed through the forest before silence returned once more.
For a moment, it almost seemed as though he had imagined everything.
A few moments later, seven or eight shadowy figures silently emerged from the darkness, surrounding him.
One of them stepped forward.
“Since you’ve already discovered us, surrender peacefully.
It’ll save everyone some trouble.” Hideki glanced at him coldly.
“Did that old dog Danzo send you?” The masked ninja’s expression didn’t change in the slightest.
“There’s no point wasting words.
You have two choices.
Come with us willingly…
or we’ll break your arms and legs before taking you back.
Since we’re from the same village, I’d rather not make this ugly.” Hideki spat on the ground.
“You people aren’t shinobi.
You’re nothing more than Danzo’s tools.” He smirked.
“And what makes you think you’ve already won?” “We’ve analyzed your abilities countless times.
Even including that strange summon of yours, the two of you together are only about as strong as two Jonin.
You don’t stand a chance against us.” Despite their confidence, Hideki showed no sign of panic.
Instead, he reached into his pocket, took out several small candies, and casually shoved one into Charmeleon’s mouth.
The instant it swallowed the candy, brilliant white light burst from Charmeleon’s body.
What Hideki had just fed it was a Rare Candy.
Although he hadn’t obtained any new Pokémon Eggs recently, his lucky rolls had rewarded him with quite a few Rare Candies.

Although it had initially seemed indestructible, cracks gradually spread across its surface.
It looked as though it could shatter at any moment.

The brilliant white light surrounding Charmeleon finally faded.
Standing where it had once been was a massive Charizard, over four meters tall.
It dwarfed an ordinary Charizard.
Normally, a Charizard stood only around 1.7 meters tall.
Hideki’s Charizard was more than twice that size.
Charizard threw back its head and released a thunderous roar that echoed throughout the forest, announcing its arrival.
Feeling the overwhelming pressure radiating from the enormous Pokémon, the leader of the Root squad immediately made his decision.
“The mission has failed.” “Retreat!” The Root shinobi instantly scattered in every direction.
Hideki simply glanced at Charizard.
Without another command, Charizard spread its enormous wings and vanished into the night.
In the blink of an eye, it appeared behind one fleeing Root shinobi.
Its massive dragon-like claws swept downward.
The ninja was torn in half instantly.
Screams echoed throughout the forest one after another.
Only a short while later, Charizard calmly returned to Hideki’s side.
Every single Root shinobi had been eliminated.
None survived.
Not even their ashes remained.
Hideki smiled and patted Charizard’s solid chest.
“From now on, you can fly me wherever I want to go.” Charizard grinned before effortlessly grabbing Hideki and tossing him onto its back.
With a powerful beat of its wings, it soared high into the sky.
A fierce wind rushed past Hideki’s body.
At first, the powerful air current made him uncomfortable.
Before long, however, he adapted.
As the cool wind brushed against his face and the endless forest stretched beneath him, Hideki finally understood why humanity had always dreamed of flying.
It simply felt incredible.
After circling through the sky several times, Hideki had Charizard land.
He then quietly returned to the camp alone as though nothing had happened.
After wiping out the entire Root squad, the remainder of the escort mission passed without incident.
Three days later, the convoy finally arrived safely at Konoha’s main military camp.
Hideki’s mission had been completed successfully.
Just then, a surprised voice suddenly called out behind him.
“What are you doing here, kid?
Didn’t I tell you not to leave the village?” Hideki turned around.
Standing there with an unhappy expression was Tsunade.
After a brief moment of surprise, Hideki rushed over like a child returning home and threw himself into her arms.
“Sensei, you have no idea what I’ve been through!
The moment you left the village, people started bullying me…” Bit by bit, Hideki told Tsunade everything that had happened during her absence.
The more she listened, the darker her expression became.
“That old bastard Danzo actually dared to lay a hand on you.” She gently rubbed Hideki’s head.
“Don’t worry.
Once I return to the village, I’ll make sure you get justice.” Just as the teacher and student were sharing the moment, another voice interrupted them.
“So you’re Hideki?
Impressive.
You actually managed to escort an entire supply convoy here by yourself.” Hideki turned toward the speaker.
A blue-haired man was smiling at him warmly.
For some reason, the instant Hideki saw him, an inexplicable sense of hostility rose within him.
He turned to Tsunade.
“Sensei…
who is this blue-haired guy?” The smile on Dan Katō’s face nearly froze.
Blue-haired guy?
