“I haven’t fallen so low that I need comfort from a little brat like you.” Although Tsunade said those words aloud, she felt no displeasure whatsoever at Hideki’s embrace.

If anything…

She found herself quietly enjoying it.Full novel: Becoming a Pokémon Master in Naruto.. — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Perhaps because Hideki was with her, Tsunade drank far more than she usually did that evening.

Watching her collapse face-first onto the table, Hideki let out a helpless sigh.

Fortunately, Tsunade was a well-behaved drunk.

When she got drunk, she simply fell asleep where she was.

If she had started causing trouble after drinking, Hideki wasn’t sure he could have restrained someone with Tsunade’s monstrous strength.

He slipped one arm beneath her knees and the other behind her back before lifting her into a bridal carry.

The moment he picked her up completely, a complicated expression appeared on his face.

Judging from the blush on her cheeks and her completely relaxed body, she certainly looked as though she had lost all control from intoxication.

But…

Her chakra couldn’t fool him.

Who could remain completely drunk while maintaining such perfectly stable chakra flow?

Even her breathing felt just a little too deliberate.

She’s testing me…

Hideki couldn’t help sighing inwardly.

Seriously?

Even a gentleman isn’t trusted?

After realizing Tsunade was only pretending to be drunk, Hideki no longer dared make even the slightest unnecessary movement.

Originally…

He had secretly hoped to take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy a little harmless physical contact.

The moment that thought crossed his mind, however, he immediately straightened himself out.

Carefully, he removed Tsunade’s shoes and gently covered her with a blanket.

Then he lightly brushed her forehead with one hand and murmured softly, “Sensei…” “Becoming your student has been the luckiest thing that’s ever happened to me.” “Even though I’ve never said it out loud…” “You’re the person I admire most in this world.” A nearly imperceptible smile tugged at the corner of Tsunade’s lips.

This little brat…

at least he still has a conscience.

Hideki continued speaking.

“Even if you’re lazy…” “Even if you love drinking and gambling…” “I’ll never dislike you.” “You’ll always be my dearest teacher.” Did this brat figure out I wasn’t actually drunk?

Is he saying all this just to flatter me?

Should I open my eyes?

After an intense internal struggle, Tsunade ultimately chose to keep them closed.

She wanted to see what Hideki would do next.

For some reason…

A strange curiosity prevented her from stopping him.

When Hideki noticed the deep frown between her brows, relief spread across his face.

He had originally assumed that what he was about to do would provoke Tsunade into punching him straight through the tent.

Instead…

She appeared to be silently allowing it.

Does that mean…

Sensei actually likes me a little too?

Otherwise she wouldn’t let me get away with this…

The thought filled Hideki with excitement.

After a brief hesitation…

He slowly withdrew his hand.

Tsunade quietly let out a sigh of relief.

Yet, for some inexplicable reason…

She also felt a faint sense of disappointment.

Hideki gently tucked the blanket around her once more.

Originally, after doing so, he intended to return to his own bed.

But as he gazed at Tsunade’s beautiful sleeping face…

A sudden impulse surged through him.

Since Sensei hasn’t stopped me…

Sneaking one little kiss shouldn’t be a problem…

right?

Actions spoke louder than thoughts.

Hideki immediately lowered his head…

…and just as quickly raised it again.

The entire movement was smooth and unbelievably fast.

Had it not been for the triumphant grin on his face—like a weasel that had just stolen a chicken—no one would have guessed what had happened.

Sure enough…

In certain situations, human potential truly was astonishing.

Afterward, Hideki secretly glanced toward Tsunade.

Her eyes remained tightly shut.

Only…

The faint bulging vein on her forehead betrayed everything.

That little brat…

I’ll deal with him tomorrow.

Tsunade clenched her fists tightly beneath the blanket as she silently vowed revenge.

By then, however, Hideki had already disappeared beneath his own blanket.

Looking toward the lump on the opposite bed, Tsunade’s expression became unusually complicated.

A long time passed before she finally let out a deep sigh.

Then she quietly turned over and went to sleep.

For both Hideki…

And Tsunade…

It was destined to be a sleepless night.

The following morning…

Because he had spent the entire night tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep, Hideki didn’t wake until well after the sun had risen.

To his surprise, Tsunade was already sitting at the table, writing something.

Normally, she was the one who slept later than anyone else.

“So you’re finally awake.” Without looking up, Tsunade spoke calmly.

“Hurry up and wash up.” “I brought breakfast back for you.” Seeing how composed she was, Hideki almost began wondering whether everything that had happened the previous night had merely been a dream.

He had fully expected Tsunade to settle the score with him the moment morning arrived.

Instead…

She acted as though absolutely nothing had happened.

Naturally, Hideki didn’t dare bring it up.

After all, he knew he was the one in the wrong.

He simply nodded before leaving the tent to wash up.

However, the moment he stepped outside…

He ran into an unexpected visitor.

“Hideki?” “What are you doing here?” Dan Katō stared at him in disbelief.

Hideki curled his lips.

“This is my teacher’s tent.” “Why shouldn’t I be here?” He crossed his arms.

“And what are you doing here?” Dan instinctively tightened his grip on the bouquet hidden behind his back.

Surely…

He couldn’t admit that he had spotted some beautiful wildflowers and had picked them specifically to win Tsunade’s affection.

After hesitating for a moment, he awkwardly replied, “I…

I have something important to discuss with Tsunade.” “Is she inside?” After everything that had happened the previous night…

Hideki had already begun thinking of Tsunade as his future wife.

So naturally…

He had no intention of giving Dan Katō—the man he considered a rival trying to steal her away—a pleasant reception.
