Huo Jin Ge gritted his teeth, wishing he could tear her to pieces.

Lin Qing quickly raised his hand to calm him down: “Hey—there’s another way.”

“If you really think she’s trouble, why not send her to my friend’s psychiatric hospital?”

Huo Jin Ge nearly choked on his breath, the veins on his forehead bulging.

Lin Qing instantly transformed into a salesperson: “Given our relationship, three dishes, one soup, one meat, plus an extra egg.”

“You…”

“Two eggs, that’s the highest standard.”

Huo Jin Ge glared at Lin Qing before him and snorted coldly.

He pressed his palms against the table and stood up: “If she’s completely useless to me, then send her to that place you mentioned.”

Lin Qing just breathed a sigh of relief.

“But…” Huo Jin Ge paused at the staircase, looking at him with a cold, dark gaze.

“If she proves helpful to me, you treat her. Treat her until she’s fully recovered.”

He didn’t want this kind of farce happening every other day.

Lin Qing: …

Meanwhile, Jiang Luxi was hiding in her room, trembling. She huddled by the headboard, sketching a rough map of the estate on paper.

It seemed she couldn’t stay here any longer—she had to find a chance to escape.

“Knock, knock, knock!”

Jiang Luxi jerked her head up, hurriedly hiding the sketch under her pillow.

After two knocks, the third time came the sound of a key.

The doorknob turned twice before the door was pushed open from outside.

Huo Jin Ge’s face was icy cold as he stepped onto the soft carpet and approached the bed, looking down at Jiang Luxi shrinking away.

“Afraid of me?”

Jiang Luxi stammered: “N-not really…”

It was just unfamiliar.

Huo Jin Ge bent down, grabbed her slender ankle, and effortlessly pulled her toward him.

The distance between them suddenly closed.

So close that Jiang Luxi could feel Huo Jin Ge’s breath against her face.

His dark, unfathomable eyes lingered on her face for a moment before shifting to the phone behind her.

Seeing his arm reach toward her, Jiang Luxi instinctively ducked her head and closed her eyes.

Was he going to silence her?

She tentatively spoke: “I… I won’t tell anyone… Please don’t kill me…”

Huo Jin Ge ignored her delirious ramblings, picking up the phone and seeing the “wrong password” message on the screen.

She even set a password.

His tone softened slightly as he patted her head: “Open your eyes.”

When she turned away, his voice hardened: “Open them!”

The next second, her teary black eyes opened. Huo Jin Ge held the phone up to her face.

The password unlocked successfully.

Huo Jin Ge lowered his gaze and directly tapped on the call log.

The first entry was the glaring number: 110.

Hah, as expected.

Jiang Luxi watched his furrowed brow and knelt halfway on the bed in fear, clutching the hem of his clothes.

Putting on a pitiful expression: “I was wrong, please don’t kill me. I won’t tell anyone, I…”

Even the police couldn’t touch him—whether she talked or not made no difference.

Huo Jin Ge raised an eyebrow, as if remembering something.

He tilted his head slightly, looking at the woman as docile as a cat before him, and lifted his hand to pinch her chin.”You’ve caused me so much trouble, and you think you can just decide not to kill me?”

Jiang Feng, standing nearby, was equally shocked. How dare Master Ho provoke her further? How severe had her delusions become?

Jiang Luxi tugged at his sleeve, putting on an ingratiating expression: “I’ll be obedient, please don’t kill me…”

For now, she had to placate the major antagonist while figuring out an escape plan later.

She deeply regretted not having read more chapters about the antagonist earlier—her knowledge of Huo Jin Ge’s storyline was minimal.

Huo Jin Ge narrowed his eyes, skepticism evident: “Obedient?”

Jiang Luxi’s tear-filled eyes met his as she nodded repeatedly.

Satisfied, Huo Jin Ge released her and turned to Jiang Feng: “Bring the milk.”

Jiang Feng immediately understood, scurrying out like a gust of wind without delay.

Within two minutes, he returned just as swiftly, handing a glass of milk to Jiang Luxi.

Huo Jin Ge’s voice was low and husky, betraying restrained impatience: “Drink the milk properly.”

Jiang Luxi stared in disbelief.

Ultimately, under Huo Jin Ge’s intimidation, she tremblingly accepted the glass.

Had he added something strange to it?

Noting her hesitant frown, Huo Jin Ge pressed his thin lips together: “Not drinking?”

Without another word, Jiang Luxi raised the glass and drained it in one go.

Huo Jin Ge wiped the milk stain from her lips, a faint smile flickering in his eyes for the first time: “Be good. No escaping.”

Who would have thought he’d one day play the role of a murderous arsonist just to coax someone into taking medicine?

Satisfied, Huo Jin Ge handed the empty glass to Jiang Feng and turned to leave.

Jiang Luxi whispered: “Can… can I stop digging holes?”

Huo Jin Ge paused at the doorway, his dark gaze falling on her reddened palms.

He nodded: “As you wish.”

Stepping out of the room, Huo Jin Ge began unfastening his cufflinks.

“Starting tomorrow, assign someone to watch her.”

Jiang Feng acknowledged the order with a nod.

To her surprise, Jiang Luxi slept soundly through the night, dreamless until dawn.

The next morning, the Housekeeper woke her.

“Miss Jiang, Master Ho bought you some clothes. Would you like to wear them?” The Housekeeper glanced back at the yawning Jiang Luxi, her eyes automatically filling with pity and affection.

Such a delicate-looking young girl—how could she be mentally ill?

Fate truly played cruel tricks.

Too drowsy to fully open her eyes, Jiang Luxi wondered if Huo Jin Ge could genuinely be this kind.

Was this like those movie plots where the antagonist tries to win her over?

She dismissed the thought casually: “I’ll wear them then.”

Ten minutes later, a stunned Jiang Luxi stood in the first-floor hall wearing black checkered pajamas.

The entire hall was packed with over a dozen clothing racks, displaying every imaginable style.

Had Huo Jin Ge transported an entire mall’s women’s collection here?

“See anything you like?Huo Jin Ge descended the stairs in immaculate suit, stopping beside Jiang Luxi in two strides.

In front of her, he plucked a garment from the rack with two slender fingers, holding it aloft.

Jiang Luxi gaped, struggling to control her astonishment as her voice trembled: “Isn’t this… a bit wasteful?”

Huo Jin Ge raised an eyebrow and nodded. With a wave of his hand, he commanded, “Keep all of these.”

Jiang Luxi: !!!

Over a dozen bodyguards pushed carts loaded with goods toward the elevator, filling the entire living room.

None of Jiang Luxi’s subtle expressions escaped Huo Jin Ge’s notice. He curled his lips, pleased with her reaction.

Noticing Huo Jin Ge was dressed differently than usual, Jiang Luxi asked curiously, “Are you going out?”

Today was the final day before his impending headache episode, and he needed to take advantage of this time to settle some matters.

Huo Jin Ge grunted in affirmation, his tone carrying a warning. “Don’t wander around the manor.”
