Huo Jin Ge bit down with considerable force, causing the woman in his arms to whimper in pain.

Jiang Luxi felt her scalp tingle, the sensation on her lips making it clear to her:

A genuine bite—she felt her lips go numb from the pressure, even tasting blood in her mouth.

“Mmph! Mmph!”

Another wave of faint fragrance reached Huo Jin Ge’s nostrils. In his dazed state, he heard the woman’s struggling sounds and gradually loosened the pressure on her lips.

Just as Jiang Luxi opened her mouth wide to catch her breath, the lips that had pulled away returned to bite her again.

This time, he only caught her lower lip—gently.

So gently that she could even feel Huo Jin Ge’s lips trembling slightly.

What is wrong with this man?

Is he trying to force himself on her!

Huo Jin Ge’s consciousness seemed to return slightly. Seeing the wide, terrified eyes before him, full of disbelief, the stinging pain persisted but had gradually eased compared to before.

Jiang Luxi opened her mouth to bite him back, wanting to snap him back to his senses.

Unexpectedly, this action provoked the man to simply lift her up right where she stood, ignoring her struggles.

Huo Jin Ge stepped onto the platform and threw the woman in his arms onto the bed.

Jiang Luxi was dazed from the impact, her body bouncing twice on the soft mattress.

Immediately after, the man followed, pressing down on her.

He restrained her hands once more and bit her lips again.

The moment he kissed Jiang Luxi, his headache truly began to dissipate bit by bit, until the world before him gradually cleared.

His hands gripped the woman’s slender waist and wrists.

Perhaps he had frightened her—her dark eyes were now red like a rabbit’s.

Jiang Luxi sniffled, wanting to curse but not daring to, both furious and distressed: “You… how could you…”

Tormented by his headache to the brink of losing reason, Huo Jin Ge unexpectedly displayed a trace of gentleness he seldom showed.

“Don’t run away.”

After saying this, he kissed her again.

Huo Jin Ge’s kiss was scorching. The more Jiang Luxi struggled, the tighter he held her, completely locking her in his embrace as he forcibly claimed her lips.

Back and forth, from shallow to deep, until it spiraled beyond control.

In the end, Jiang Luxi grew lightheaded from lack of oxygen and her tense nerves, until her eyes rolled back and she fainted.

Huo Jin Ge held her by the waist, burying his face in the crook of her neck, desperately inhaling that fresh rainforest aura.

He was someone who intensely disliked being controlled by anything.

Desire, money, love.

He never imagined that one day, his fate would be controlled by a woman.

This feeling left him somewhat bewildered and flustered.

After an unknown length of time, the headache completely vanished, and the strange fragrance faded along with it.

Replacing it was the scent of daisies from the woman’s recent bath.

He got off the bed and stood beside it, scrutinizing Jiang Luxi on the bed for a long while.

Finally, he sighed and covered her with the black silk quilt.

Huo Jin Ge’s burgundy shirt was soaked with sweat. He sat on the sofa facing the large bed, his posture lazy, his expression weary.

Moonlight fell directly onto the center of the bed, casting the woman’s deeply troubled sleeping face into Huo Jin Ge’s view.

If she were a normal woman, he could have negotiated a transaction.

But it had to be Jiang Luxi, with her mental barriers…

After a long while.Huo Jin Ge rose from the sofa, and as the door opened, Jiang Feng and Yu Yi standing guard on either side instantly snapped to attention.

The two exchanged a glance, their faces lighting up with joy.

“Master! You’re better!”

“That’s wonderful!”

The news was truly overwhelming.

The emotional burden that had plagued Master Ho for so many years had finally found a solution.

Huo Jin Ge walked toward the staircase with his usual composure, but hearing no footsteps behind him, he paused and glanced back curiously.

The two men were peering into the room.

They could vaguely make out a bulge in the center of the black bedding.

“Holy shit! Master Ho actually let someone sleep in his bed—what about his germaphobia?”

Jiang Feng smacked Yu Yi’s head. “What the hell are you thinking about? This isn’t about germaphobia anymore—it’s obvious he’s taken her…”

“What are you two doing?” Huo Jin Ge frowned, his voice cold and sharp.

Startled, Yu Yi closed the door while whispering, “Master, should we move Jiang Luxi back to her room?”

Huo Jin Ge’s eyes flickered briefly, a fleeting memory of the softness against his lips surfacing.

He turned and headed downstairs, his tone indifferent. “No need. Let her sleep here.”

………

Jiang Luxi slept restlessly, dreaming she had finally escaped the villa only to be captured by the male lead Mo Yan, his smile sinister.

She was locked in the filthy, stinking water dungeon described in the book, denied even food.

Truly, heaven and earth offered no refuge.

Just as she thought she was about to die, Huo Jin Ge appeared.

His eyes held a gentleness she had never seen before.

“Lu Lu, come here, come to me.”

“Ge Ge, Ge Ge, save me.”

Jiang Luxi abruptly sat up in bed, her eyes wide with terror, gasping for air.

It was too horrifying; the Mo Yan in her dream was truly terrifying.

His sinister smile felt as though he wanted to tear her apart.

Why did the dream feel so real?

Jiang Luxi brushed the damp strands of hair from her forehead.

“Awake.”

Huo Jin Ge sat on the sofa in the corner, from where he had clearly observed her every move.

Jiang Luxi shuddered.

Although she found Huo Jin Ge quite twisted, compared to the Mo Yan in her dream, she considered herself lucky.

She parted her dry lips to speak but accidentally tugged at the wound from where Huo Jin Ge had bitten her yesterday.

The pain made her gasp, and she instinctively reached to touch it.

Huo Jin Ge uncrossed his long legs and leisurely stood up from the sofa. He walked over to Jiang Luxi, watching her rabbit-meets-wolf expression, his brow furrowing again.

Jiang Luxi cautiously retreated two steps.

Annoyed, Huo Jin Ge raised his hand, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her closer.

The faint fragrance of her body instantly enveloped his senses.

His tone carried dissatisfaction. “What are you hiding from?”

“I’m not hiding.”

The room was only so big—where could she possibly go?

Huo Jin Ge couldn’t be bothered to argue with her.

Last night, the lighting had been dim, and he wasn’t sure if he had hurt her.

He bent slightly, his gaze falling on her red lips.

The once pink lips were now badly broken, clearly showing how hard he had bitten her yesterday.Jiang Luxi felt uneasy under his intense gaze and raised her hand to cover her mouth, but Huo Jin Ge swiftly caught her wrist.

In a low voice, he said, “Don’t move. It’s broken.”

His words instantly brought back the bizarre events of the previous night to both of them.

That inexplicable kiss.

Huo Jin Ge tilted his chin toward the cabinet. “The first aid kit is on the third shelf over there. Go get it yourself.”

Under his watchful eyes, Jiang Luxi obediently walked to the cabinet to retrieve the first aid kit.
