Huo Jin Ge sighed heavily. The phone he had just hung up rang again within a minute.

He was so irritated he nearly smashed his phone.

The corners of his eyes reddened from suppressed anger: “What is she doing?”Full novel: Behave, Don’t Escape! The Crazy Villain Wants to Kiss Her Again — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Yu Yi pressed his knee against the back of Jiang Feng’s knee, causing the latter to stumble and nearly kneel on the ground.

Jiang Feng turned and glared at the instigator.

Then he explained to Huo Jin Ge: “Master Ho, you promised her yesterday she could buy packages, but no delivery person dares to enter the estate.”

When outsiders heard it was Huo Jin Ge’s estate, they fled faster than ghosts.

Huo Jin Ge chuckled coldly twice, tapped the table twice with his fingers, and pointed at the still-ringing phone as he drawled: “Why did she use my phone number?”

The calls had been nonstop since morning.

The air froze instantly once more.

Jiang Luxi was escorted downstairs and came face to face with those icy, piercing dark eyes.

Huo Jin Ge leaned back into the sofa, waving his hand in her direction to beckon her over.

The room was enveloped in a low-pressure atmosphere.

Jiang Luxi took small, hesitant steps until she was about two meters away from him.

Coincidentally, the phone on the table rang abruptly.

Huo Jin Ge glanced at it, his voice chilly: “Answer it.”

Jiang Luxi reluctantly picked up the phone and held it to her ear. After about ten seconds, her eyes lit up with surprise.

The packages she had ordered had actually arrived.

The delivery speed was incredibly fast.

Had the seller driven over to deliver them personally late at night?

Huo Jin Ge sneered twice: “Why did you use my phone number for your package deliveries?”

Jiang Luxi didn’t pay it much mind. She pulled out her own phone and checked it, only to see something unbelievable.

All thirty-something packages she had ordered yesterday had already been delivered to the estate entrance.

It had only been ten hours.

Nothing brought more joy than receiving packages.

This made her speak without thinking, replying confidently: “I don’t know my own phone number.”

Jiang Luxi’s curious, wide eyes completely ignored the man’s gloomy expression as she turned to ask Jiang Feng beside her.

“Didn’t you say the packages are at the estate entrance? Where are they?”

Huo Jin Ge stood up from the sofa, pointing at Jiang Luxi and opening his mouth several times as if to speak, before finally curling his pointing finger into a fist.

Gritting his teeth, he said to Jiang Feng: “Make her carry them back herself.”

With that, he turned and headed straight to his study without looking back.

Jiang Luxi shot him a glance.

Fine, she’d carry them herself. What was the big deal?

…….

The walk from the estate entrance to the villa took about ten minutes, but Jiang Luxi tirelessly made trip after trip transporting her packages.

By the last trip, she was drenched in sweat, her face flushed pink from the sun.

Sitting on the ground to rest, she turned and saw Jiang Feng slowly following behind her on a small electric scooter, looking completely relaxed and carefree.

Jiang Luxi felt a lump of frustration stuck in her throat. She stood up and pointed at the scooter.

“Why didn’t you tell me there was a vehicle?”

Her legs had gone soft from all the back-and-forth walking.

Jiang Feng raised an eyebrow: “You never asked.”

“…….”

Jiang Feng motioned for her to sit at the back, then drove her and the remaining small pile of packages back to the villa.

Jiang Luxi dragged her exhausted legs into the house, just in time to see a servant holding scissors, about to open her packages for her.

She immediately cried out in alarm: “No! Don’t open them!”Jiang Luxi crouched on the floor like a protective mother hen, stubbornly guarding the pile of packages.

She had never experienced the joy of unwrapping so many at once.

It must feel absolutely amazing!

She stretched her hand toward the servant, and when they looked at her blankly, she tilted her chin up. “Give me the scissors.”

The servant glanced at Jiang Feng and only handed over the scissors after receiving his approval.

In the study.

Yu Yi placed a stack of documents on the desk and reported the situation.

“Sir, Huo Yao and Huo Wenshu have been in close contact recently.”

Huo Jin Ge narrowed his eyes, his fingers continuing to rotate the jade thumb ring on his hand. After a moment, he chuckled lightly.

“Let them be.”

After all, they weren’t born from the same mother—they were blood brothers, while he was the son of a despised stepmother.

Yu Yi wanted to say more, but Huo Jin Ge stood up first.

He glanced at his metal wristwatch. “Where’s Jiang Feng?”

Yu Yi paused for a moment before replying, “Oh, I think he’s watching Jiang Luxi unwrap packages.”

Huo Jin Ge took a deep breath, feeling a throbbing in his temples.

“She…”

He steadied his chaotic breathing. “Did she take the Elixir?”

A knock sounded at the door.

Yu Yi went to open it. Aunt Liu, who cleaned the villa, stood outside holding a small medicine bottle.

She entered and placed the bottle on the table. “Young Master, I found this in Miss Jiang’s trash can. It seems there’s still quite a bit of medicine left inside.”

Huo Jin Ge waved his hand, signaling for Aunt Liu to leave.

He stared at the vitamin C bottle on the table as if he could bore two holes through it with his gaze.

From his expression, Yu Yi knew things were about to go south and instinctively took two steps back.

Huo Jin Ge clenched the medicine bottle, veins bulging on his forehead, gritting his teeth. “Do I have to wrap it in candy wrappers to coax her into taking it?”

Yu Yi: “…”

Huo Jin Ge felt another headache coming on and pinched the bridge of his nose.

Indeed, he wasn’t cut out for taking care of anything.

Let alone a woman.

…

Jiang Luxi squatted on the stone steps in front of the villa, violently tearing open the last two packages before tossing the boxes aside.

This was the scene Huo Jin Ge witnessed as he descended the stairs, clutching the medicine bottle.

A woman in a floral sundress, her hair tied in a messy bun, crouched bathed in sunlight, happily organizing her newly unwrapped treasures.

His furrowed brow relaxed momentarily.

His thin lips pressed into a tight line, his expression unreadable as he approached her. He nudged the shoes hidden beneath her skirt with his foot.

Jiang Luxi looked up, her sparkling eyes meeting the man’s gaze.

The man stood silhouetted against the light, his shadowed expression icy cold as he raised the medicine bottle.

“Why didn’t you take the medicine?”

Jiang Luxi’s gaze shifted to the vitamin C bottle in his hand.

She looked at him strangely. “It’s expired. And it’s so bitter.”

With all this money, didn’t he know he bought expired medicine?

Huo Jin Ge was speechless. “It’s not expired. It’s imported, that’s why it’s bitter.”

“The bottle says orange flavor, but the pills inside are bitter. Who are you trying to fool?”

She might not be as rich as him, but she’d taken vitamin C before.

For a moment, Huo Jin Ge thought the woman before him didn’t seem like a mental patient—her logic was quite sharp.

Jiang Luxi looked at him as if he were an idiot, then stood up from the ground, casually wiping her hands on her clothes.Huo Jin Ge noticed every little movement, frowning with disdain as he remarked, “How filthy.”

Jiang Luxi glanced down at her hands, the pink palms now covered in dust. She stubbornly lifted her head. “It’s not dirty.”

It was just dust—far cleaner than his hands stained with blood.

Who was he to look down on her?

The next second, Huo Jin Ge nodded to himself; it had indeed been his misconception all along.
