Huo Jin Ge gritted his teeth, suppressing his impatience as he held the Elixir in front of Jiang Luxi once again.

“As long as you take the medicine obediently, I’ll transfer another five hundred thousand for your online shopping.”

Jiang Luxi shot him a sideways glance.Full novel: Behave, Don’t Escape! The Crazy Villain Wants to Kiss Her Again — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Was Huo Jin Ge out of his mind, insisting she take some kind of medicine?

Judging by his behavior, this medicine was probably no good—he’d even gone through the trouble of putting it in a vitamin C bottle.

Jiang Luxi turned her head away, her tone firm. “I’m not taking it.”

Huo Jin Ge clenched the medicine bottle and strode away.

Jiang Luxi watched his retreating back with the same look she’d give a lunatic. The moment he was out of sight, she wasted no time gathering her packages and returning to her room.

The entire day passed without Jiang Feng or Yu Yi summoning Jiang Luxi to dig holes in the backyard. Neither did she see Huo Jin Ge during lunch or dinner.

Jiang Luxi enjoyed her freedom, eating and drinking her fill before returning to her room to play on her phone and continue her shopping spree. Remembering Huo Jin Ge’s livid expression that morning, she decided to change the delivery contact number to her own. But her phone contacts contained only one number.

After wrestling with the decision, she finally sent him a text.

Huo Corporation.

Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the night had deepened. A sliver of light seeped from the CEO’s office.

Huo Jin Ge frowned at the documents before him. The companies under Huo Yao and Huo Wenshu had been operating at a loss for three consecutive months. If the losses continued, they’d have to shut down for good.

His phone screen lit up on the desk.

He picked it up and opened the message.

[Can you send me my phone number?]

Huo Jin Ge tossed the phone back onto the desk, leaning back in his chair. His long fingers tapped rhythmically against the desktop. Recalling the barrage of calls that morning, his fingers stilled mid-air. He retrieved the phone and typed a reply.

Jiang Luxi lay on her bed in plaid pajamas, waiting for Huo Jin Ge’s response. It felt like an eternity before his leisurely reply finally came through.

The message was succinct, as if typing even one extra word would pain him.

[85XXXXXXXXX]

Jiang Luxi read it twice silently, then opened her delivery address settings. To her surprise, she discovered Huo Jin Ge’s number differed from hers only in the last two digits.

10 PM.

A black Rolls-Royce pulled into the estate and stopped in the courtyard.

A bodyguard stepped forward to open the rear door. Huo Jin Ge emerged from the car and instinctively glanced up at the third-floor window of Jiang Luxi’s room. Despite the drawn curtains, he could tell the bedroom light was still on.

Huo Jin Ge ran his tongue over the corner of his mouth and beckoned to Jiang Feng.

Jiang Feng felt his eyelid twitch nervously.

He forced a smile. “What is it, sir?”

Huo Jin Ge narrowed his eyes. “She still refuses to take the medicine?”

Jiang Feng’s smile turned strained. The medicine bottle was in his possession—how could Jiang Luxi possibly take any? He swallowed hard, bearing the frustration silently as he stretched his stiff face into another smile.

“Perhaps… the medicine is just difficult to administer…”

Huo Jin Ge gazed thoughtfully at the lit window, then snapped his fingers.

“From now on, have her drink a glass of milk every night. Mix the medicine into it.”

Having said this, he nodded gravely, pleased with his idea.

After giving his instructions, he ascended the steps.

Jiang Feng scratched his head, watching as Huo Jin Ge suddenly stopped and turned back. He blinked. “Sir, is there something else?”Huo Jin Ge said worriedly, “Add sugar, a lot of it. If she tastes anything strange in the milk, I’ll pour it down your throat.”

Jiang Feng: …

After saying this, he finally felt reassured and entered the villa.

Jiang Feng watched Huo Jin Ge walk away, feeling a sense of loss.

If things continued like this, he wasn’t sure whether Jiang Luxi’s mental illness would improve, but he would definitely be driven to madness.

Resigned to his fate, Jiang Feng went to Huo Jin Ge to get the elixir, obediently headed to the kitchen, and as instructed, added several spoonfuls of sugar to the milk.

He stirred it with a spoon, and once the elixir had completely dissolved, he picked up the milk glass and walked out.

Just as he reached the door, he turned back to the glass table, picked up the spoon again, and added two more spoonfuls of sugar. Satisfied, he finally went to find Jiang Luxi.

“Knock, knock.”

Jiang Luxi had just finished washing up and was about to turn off the lights to sleep when she looked warily at the door.

Jiang Feng, seeing the light still on through the crack in the door, cleared his throat twice. “Miss Jiang, I’ve brought you some milk.”

A moment later, the door opened a small crack, revealing a pair of highly alert dark eyes.

Jiang Luxi saw that he was indeed holding a glass of milk and finally felt reassured enough to open the door.

Jiang Feng handed the glass to her with a smile. “Miss Jiang, your milk.”

Noticing a flicker of doubt on Jiang Luxi’s face, Jiang Feng quickly explained, “Oh, Master Ho called your parents to ask about your habits, just to make sure you’re comfortable staying here.”

The smile vanished from Jiang Luxi’s face. Could Huo Jin Ge really be that considerate?

He probably threatened her parents instead.

Reluctantly, she took the glass of milk and brought it to her lips for a small sip. The next second, she nearly spat it out.

With an expression of disbelief, she exclaimed, “Did this cow have diabetes? It’s so sweet!”

So sweet it was almost bitter.

Jiang Feng took the glass and took a sip himself. The next second, he felt completely off.

Scratching his head, he explained, “The kitchen must have made a mistake. I’ll go get you another glass.”

Jiang Luxi shook her head firmly. “No, I don’t want it. I don’t feel like drinking milk today.”

Jiang Feng watched the door close, his face twisted in frustration as he took the elevator downstairs.

Standing in front of the kitchen, he suddenly grew alert and glanced around. Seeing no one, he raised his hand and poured the milk into the sink.

After quickly cleaning up the evidence, he finally felt relieved.

Alright, tomorrow he’d add two fewer spoonfuls of sugar.

The next day.

Jiang Luxi was awakened by the ringing of her phone. One after another, she received no fewer than ten calls from delivery services.

Sitting up, she felt completely dazed. She picked up her phone and glanced at the time.

It was only seven in the morning. Did the characters in the book have a different sleep schedule from reality?

Didn’t they ever sleep?

Yawning repeatedly, Jiang Luxi went into the bathroom. After washing up, she looked at the skincare and makeup products that had arrived the day before and gave herself a simple touch-up.

The woman in the mirror looked exactly like her real self, but her skin was far better—so flawless it seemed as if it could be pinched and water would seep out.

She applied a light, natural makeup look, changed into a chiffon short-sleeved top and jeans, tied her hair into a bun, and finally went downstairs.

Huo Jin Ge was already seated at the dining table, sipping his coffee.

Suddenly, he looked up and fixed his gaze on Jiang Feng beside him. “I’ll be out this morning. You and Yu Yi take Jiang Luxi to plant the trees. The rainy season is coming soon.”

Jiang Feng nodded in acknowledgment.

A short while later, Jiang Luxi descended the stairs, holding onto the railing, just in time to see Huo Jin Ge walking out.She stood at the stairs watching him walk away before leisurely heading to the dining room.

Her mood brightened once again.

With Huo Jin Ge gone, today was another beautiful day.

Jiang Luxi sat on the chair, happily eating her breakfast while planning to retrieve all the packages after finishing her meal.

Completely unaware of the way the two people behind her were looking at her.
