He spotted a variant of teenage Ben who was currently using a prototype Calibrated Omnitrix to fire useless plasma blasts at Error X’s feet.

Albedo sprinted over, closing the distance in three long, desperate strides.

“Give me your arm!” Albedo demanded, grabbing the bewildered Ben’s left wrist in an iron grip.Full novel: Ben 10: Albedo’s Apex — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Before the alternate Ben could pull away or punch him, Albedo reached into his jacket pocket, pulled out an alien multi-tool, and jammed its micro-fine diagnostic tip directly into the side housing of the Calibrated Omnitrix.

“Hey!

Albedo, what are you doing?!” Ben yelped, trying to shake him off while keeping an eye on the sky.

“Hands off the watch!

I’m trying to cover the retreat!”

“Silence, you utter idiot!

It’s an emergency,” Albedo snapped, his fingers moving in a precise, surgical blur as he manipulated the delicate internal wiring beneath the dial.

“If you want to survive the next two minutes, hold still and let me work!”

With a sharp, metallic click, Albedo popped open the central dial assembly, reached inside with his micro-tweezers, and yanked out a tiny, silver metallic ring.

He casually tossed the glowing component into the dirt.

“Done,” Albedo said, stepping back and wiping sweat from his forehead.

“Transform right now!

Select Alien X!”

Ben stared at the missing component on his watch face, looking completely baffled, until a memory from his ten-year-old self suddenly clicked in his head.

“Wait…

you removed the wireless receiver ring?!

The Primus signal stabilizer?!”

“Exactly,” Albedo smirked, his red eyes gleaming with arrogant triumph.

“Without the receiver ring filtering the Primus stream, the signal transfer becomes unstable and overcrowded.

It forces the core matrix to splice the selected profile with a secondary, localized DNA template stored in the active buffer!”

For context, because the original Calibrated Omnitrix relied on an active wireless connection to the Primus core to stream DNA templates, removing the external receiver ring introduced a specific, violent system glitch: it forced a random hybrid fusion between the chosen alien and whatever secondary species was loaded in the active playlist.

Newer models like the Ultimatrix or Omnitrix 2.0 possessed self-contained internal DNA databases, making them completely immune to this specific hardware trick—meaning only the older, Primus-linked watches littered across the army could exploit the bug.

“Alien X plus anything is better than what we have now!” Calibrated Ben realized, a grin breaking across his face despite the chaotic explosions around them.

“Albedo, you crazy genius…

that’s brilliant!”

“Less complimenting, more transforming,” Albedo ordered, pointing up at the sky.

Ben slapped down hard on the faceplate, selecting the three-horned Alien X silhouette.

A brilliant surge of emerald light engulfed him, radiating outward with a high-pitched hum.

When the flash faded, an entity resembling Diamondhead stood in his place—except the dark, rocky portions of his crystal body were now pitch-black and filled with shimmering, white star-specks, while his crystalline spikes were pure, gleaming cosmic energy.

“Whoa…

Diamondhead plus Alien X!” the hybrid cheered, flexing his crystal fists as cosmic energy crackled along his knuckles.

“Let’s go with…

X-Fist!”

“Fascinating,” Albedo noted, stepping closer to inspect the physical stability of the cellular bond.

“The Taydenite lattice acts as a perfect physical conductor for higher-dimensional energy. The source of this chapter is g.com.

Now stop babbling and get into the air!

Go support the main fused units!”

“On it!” X-Fist yelled, launching himself into the sky using a localized gravitational burst that shattered the ground beneath him.

He closed in on the high-altitude clash, raising both arms to fire a concentrated beam of white, cosmic-infused crystal energy directly into Error X’s back.

BOOM!

The impact actually forced Error X forward a few yards, breaking his concentration on the energy sphere he was building.

Down below, Albedo’s lips curled into a triumphant, downright wicked grin.

It worked.

The glitched hybrid signature successfully bypassed Error X’s absolute immunity.

“Error X…” Albedo muttered, turning his back on the explosion and facing the rest of the surviving Bens holding older watch models.

“Let’s see how your Carnitrix handles a whole armada of glitched Celestialsapien hybrids.”

For the next three minutes, Albedo sprinted across the ruined battlefield like a man possessed.

He dodged falling debris, ducked under stray plasma blasts, and systematically grabbed every eligible Ben, jamming his tool into their devices and yanking out their receiver rings with practiced precision.

Up in the clouds, the tide of battle shifted dramatically.

Error X had just knocked back the original fused Alien X, preparing to unleash another catastrophic spatial distortion that would have unraveled the quadrant, when a barrage of multi-colored energy beams struck him simultaneously from all sides.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Error X stumbled back through the air, his glowing white pupils narrowing in genuine shock as he looked around.

Flying in a wide, tactical formation around him were over a dozen newly forged Alien X hybrids: a cosmic-powered Heatblast spewing black star-fire, a massive star-covered Humungousaur, a gravitational Four Arms with four cosmic fists, and various other hybrid variants.

“What is this…?” the original fused Alien X gasped, hovering nearby as he wiped cosmic dust from his brow.

“Did someone hack the Primus stream?!”

” courtesy of your red-suited clone!” X-Fist yelled, firing another high-density crystal beam into Error X’s face.

“Less talking, more blasting!”

While individual hybrid units were admittedly weaker than a pure Celestialsapien, the sheer volume of higher-dimensional energy being thrown at Error X began to overwhelm his defensive field.

The hybrids worked in synchronized harmony—energy-absorbing variants like X-Fist siphoned off Error X’s destructive blasts, while the physical strike hybrids closed in to land heavy, space-bending punches that echoed like thunder across the sky.

For the first time since the battle began, Error X was pushed onto the absolute defensive.

His violent, unhinged attacks were met with a relentless, overwhelming barrage of glitched cosmic fire.

Down on the ground, the remaining Bens and Albedos whose watches couldn’t be glitched stood together, watching in absolute awe as the shattered sky lit up with continuous explosions of black, white, and green energy.

Ten minutes passed in a blur of relentless, exhausting combat.

Finally, the Carnitrix’s internal bio-battery—overloaded by the continuous strain of defending against a dozen Celestialsapien-level energy signatures at once—reached absolute zero.

A sickly, yellowish-green flash flared across Error X’s body.

The dark, starry hide dissolved, the twisted limbs snapped back into human proportions with a sickening crunch, and the monstrous abomination plummeted toward the earth, reverting back into the limp, unconscious body of Error Ben.

The hybrid army descended, landing heavily in a circle around the fallen boy.

He raised his hand, channeling a concentrated blade of pure cosmic light across his fingertips, and struck with absolute, surgical precision.

FLASH!

The entire left arm of Error Ben—along with the hideous, parasite-like Carnitrix attached to it—was instantly atomized into microscopic dust, leaving the wound neatly cauterized before a single drop of blood could spill.

The dark bio-weapon was gone forever.

With the threat eliminated, the multiversal army gathered to handle the aftermath.

The alternate Bens who had transformed into hybrids lined up in front of Albedo, who methodically re-installed their wireless receiver rings one by one, restoring their devices to their standard operational parameters.

“Don’t touch that wire,” Albedo scolded one ten-year-old Ben who tried to help.

“You’ll fry your own active buffer, you simpleton.”

Once the hardware was fully restored, the original fused Ben stepped forward, dialing his watch to a specific combination before slamming it down.

A flash of bright green light swept over him.

“Clockwork X!”

With his temporal abilities amplified by Celestialsapien reality-warping, Clockwork X raised his golden, clockwork hands.

A massive, golden wave of temporal energy expanded across Quadrant 54.

Unlike standard temporal manipulation that affected the entire universe, Clockwork X precisely targeted localized timelines—resurrecting every Ben and Albedo who had fallen in the battle, reversing the structural damage to the cities, and winding the clock all the way back to the morning before Error Ben had ever crossed paths with the Carnitrix.

The nightmare of Quadrant 54 was completely erased, replaced once more by blue skies and quiet streets.

A short while later, Professor Paradox resumed his role as the multiversal chauffeur, opening a series of localized blue rifts to drop each variant safely back into their respective timelines and quadrants.

A spatial portal opened with a soft whoosh in a quiet, empty alleyway near the Bellwood business district.

Albedo and the mainline Ben Tennyson stepped out onto the cool asphalt, stretching their sore arms as the portal closed behind them.

“Well,” Ben said, letting out a long, weary sigh as he checked his Omnitrix.

“That was easily the most insane afternoon of my entire life.

I am never complaining about Vilgax ever again.”

“A sentiment I fully endorse,” Albedo replied dryly, straightening his red jacket and checking his Ultimatrix interface to verify his schematic scans were intact.

“Now, if you will excuse me, I require an absurd amount of chili fries to compensate for the severe mental degradation I suffered today.”

Ben blinked, then grinned, clapping Albedo on the shoulder.

“Hey, you know what?

I’m buying.

Mr.

Smoothie is right down the block.”

Albedo scoffed, brushing Ben’s hand off his shoulder, but he didn’t walk away.

Side by side, the two stepped out of the alleyway and walked down the sunny sidewalk, leaving the madness of the multiverse behind them.
