Song Guantang continued slowly, “Besides, it was you who made the first move last night.”

Meng Tang immediately denied it, “Nonsense, how could that be!”

She was just drunk, not actually turned into a beast.Full novel: Bestie Turns Foe? Marry the Villain, She Runs, I Run Too. — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Do you need me to help you remember how you grabbed my tie last night, refusing to let me go, and without a word, held my face and bit my lips?”

Those half-remembered memories, prompted by Song Guantang, flashed through Meng Tang’s mind like slides.

Although Meng Tang desperately wanted to deny it and claim that Song Guantang was exaggerating, the unfortunate truth was that every word he said was exactly what had happened last night.

It was already embarrassing enough, but this felt like being dug up from the grave after burial, with both the corpse and coffin exposed, and publicly humiliated.

Meng Tang snatched the blanket and covered her head again.

She wished she could lose her memory on the spot.

Others wake up after getting drunk and forget everything.

Why is it that for her, not only did she not forget, but she remembered every detail vividly? Even the details of being pressed against the bathtub by Song Guantang last night were crystal clear.

Her brain remembered when it shouldn’t and forgot when it should—what a useless brain!

“Stop talking, get out, get out! I want to sleep, don’t bother me!”

Humiliated to the point where her toes could dig out a Tomson Riviera, Meng Tang muffled her cries while using her snow-white feet to kick Song Guantang, trying to shove this annoying guy out.

Song Guantang easily caught her restless feet. “Since you’ve remembered, tell me, what was that evaluation you gave me last night?”

What evaluation?

Meng Tang, who remembered every detail, couldn’t recall giving Song Guantang any evaluation. Her mind was filled with the embarrassing scene of holding his face and biting his lips.

It was like a starving savage finally catching a delicious pig’s trotter.

“Why did you say I would become a love-struck fool?”

Huh?

The topic shifted so abruptly that even Meng Tang couldn’t keep up.

“Don’t play dumb with me. Last night, you kept muttering, telling me not to become a love-struck fool, and something about a freeloader, and something about the original owner. Is your work pressure too high lately, mixing up reality and scripts?”

Meng Tang’s heart leaped into her throat.

Look at her mouth, why did it blurt out everything!

She even blurted out the whole transmigration thing, right in front of the big villain. It perfectly illustrated what it meant to court death in every possible way!

“Y-yes, lately I’ve been preparing for a period detective drama. There’s a villain in it who’s a love-struck fool—handsome, rich, and of noble status.”

“A perfect start, but because he couldn’t get the love of the female lead, he turned dark, constantly creating trouble for the relationship between the male and female leads. Then he successfully ruined himself, ending up disgraced and meeting a tragic end.”

Fortunately, Song Guantang didn’t take it seriously. After all, a normal person would never believe in things like transmigration or love-struck villain.

In fact, before she even spoke, Song Guantang had already thought of a reason for her.

Meng Tang followed Song Guantang’s guess and casually made up a story.

Making up stories was her specialty.

The more Song Guantang listened, the deeper his cold frown became.”How on earth did you get the idea that I would turn into such a fool who only secretes dopamine?”

As he spoke, Song Guantang curled his fingers and tapped Meng Tang’s forehead in a punishing manner.

“Watch fewer brainless soap operas.”

Meng Tang covered her forehead and, unable to refute Song Guantang’s words, obediently murmured an “Oh.”

Fortunately, Song Guantang brought this up only to educate Meng Tang’s little brain not to dwell on such messy and unrealistic thoughts.

After hearing Meng Tang’s explanation, he didn’t dwell on the matter any further.

He stood up, selected a suit from the wardrobe, and began dressing unhurriedly, saying calmly, “Sleep a little longer, then go downstairs for breakfast.”

“And from now on, drink less. Don’t you have any idea of your own alcohol tolerance?”

Meng Tang pouted and muttered quietly, “If it weren’t for that freeloader Cheng Youjun messing with me, I wouldn’t have thrown up, let alone gotten drunk.”

Song Guantang glanced up. “What are you muttering?”

Judging by her expression, it didn’t seem like anything good—almost as if she were quietly cursing him.

“Nothing, really. Wait a moment.”

Meng Tang also got out of bed, rummaged through a nearby cabinet for something, slipped on her slippers, and scurried over to Song Guantang.

She stood on tiptoe but still couldn’t quite reach him.

“Lower your head a bit. Why do you have to be so tall? It makes my 168 cm look like I’m a dwarf.”

A flicker of amusement flashed in Song Guantang’s eyes. “In front of 188 cm, 168 cm is indeed a dwarf.”

Meng Tang, annoyed, deliberately stepped on the top of his foot.

By standing on his foot, she could elevate her height enough to reach his face even if he didn’t lower his head.

When Song Guanting glanced down, he finally saw what Meng Tang was holding—a band-aid.

It was a cute, pink band-aid with a little white rabbit printed on it.

Realizing that Meng Tang intended to stick the band-aid on his face, Song Guanting instinctively leaned back.

“That’s too childish.”

Slap!

Meng Tang roughly swatted away Song Guanting’s hand as he tried to refuse.

“What your wife gives you is the best. You don’t get to refuse.”

She pressed the band-aid onto the bite mark on Song Guanting’s right cheek without giving him a chance to argue, gleefully adding, “This band-aid is so cute—it’s my favorite little rabbit.”

“If you weren’t my husband, I wouldn’t even share it with anyone else. You should be secretly delighted.”

After sticking it on, Meng Tang examined it from left to right, nodding with great satisfaction.

In truth, she was holding back laughter, almost to the point of internal injury.

Who could understand, family? The face of a domineering CEO, as aloof as a distant mountain peak, now adorned with an adorable little white rabbit band-aid.

It was as comical as a muscular tough guy wearing a pink tutu and dancing Swan Lake.

Song Guanting clearly resisted the band-aid and even tried to lift his hand to peel it off.

“My husband is so handsome. With a face like this—one that even the heavens would chase after to reward—even if you drew a turtle on it, you’d still be the handsomest turtle.”

“I love you so much!”

With that, Meng Tang, against her better judgment, cupped Song Guanting’s face and planted a loud, smacking kiss right on the band-aid.

As if casting a spell, she chanted earnestly, “This band-aid carries the kiss of my love. If you dare peel it off, it means you don’t love your wife!”

Playing the blame-shifting game was something Meng Tang excelled at.Meng Tang thoughtfully and dutifully selected a dark blue striped tie herself, gently helping Song Guanting put it on.

“Honey, work hard and earn lots of money, love you~”

Although Song Guanting kept a cold expression on his handsome face, he did not tear off the band-aid on his cheek.

As he turned to go downstairs, the corners of his thin lips lifted slightly.

“Always playing these clumsy little tricks.”

He saw right through her mischievous little scheme.

But he simply watched her smile and play along.
