The country’s capital; Higher Vale in particular, had never recorded the presence of rain all through its years.

Though they had been the occurrence of a rainbow on a clear day, which speaks more of the land’s natural enchantment as well as the passing of the meteor shower at midday.

All these naturally occurring wonders further hyped the legacy of the country; drawing students from far towards it.

Though all four countries had their own specialty, still Sparks was ranked number one amongst all in natural enchantment.

From its many wonders was the presence of the “garden of trees.” Folktale had it that these trees are carriers of memories, from the incision of time.

No one knew of their planting, how they came to existence or what makes them strive.

Words did spread back then that the Mystical himself planted them, from bare seedlings; though it was just a rumor from how every good creation was tagged to an unmatchable figure.

Staring at the trees all grown and taller with thick vines and roots.

The bark of the trees ranges from dark brown to a darker shade of gray colours, with leaves having a wider range and varieties of colours.

The leaves had a glisten hue around them, which gives awe aspiring feelings to anyone who walks amidst the trees.

Along with their large numbers all over the garden, was the hue which the leaves reflect.

As a result of the amount of sunlight the tree drew from the sun directly, allowing the trees to keep its glistening hues for countless years on.

At the entrance of the garden, a large number of students; freshmen were now present, about to enter the garden.

* Now remember students, you all are to stay in pairs.

No fussing around!

* Piers said with bit of seriousness in his tone.

The expenditures into the garden of trees were all his idea, since he took pleasure in being part of the academy’s school of knowledge.

Though never had he spoken about it, Piers had the aspirations of being a professor back then when he was a student, if he became a gifted that is!.

Till he underwent his awakening and discovered he was a norm witch.

* Come on, students let’s step into the garden.* He said taking the first step, followed by the others after him.

He was overshadowed by the student who ran into the garden.

Standing aside with a dizzy feeling from getting knocked over by countless students who went through the entrance.

Numerous exclamations were heard from the group of students who stepped into the garden.

Piers stood firmly, giving off the stance of a wise sage, trying to regain his pride amidst a crowd of unknowledgeable students.

* The garden holds more than its beauty.

* Piers said in a strong voice, trying to explain to the group of students who were now distracted by the sight of trees before them.

* Listen to me.

Guys!

* Piers furrowed his brows in frustration.

He stood rooted to the spot without moving an inch, watching how the freshmen paid less heed to his words.

All he had wanted was an opportunity to show off his knowledge, being respected as an admirable elder; passing on his knowledge.

Yet the current people who he was guiding paid less heed to him, causing his expression to contort in annoyance and helplessness.

Trying to calm his raging temper, Piers closed his eyes taking off his glasses.

He placed his left hand on his waist and the other he used in massaging his brows.

Missing the presence of a girl standing a few feet from him.* Ummm…

Mister, what are those writings on the trees?

* The girl asked him with a submissive tone, like a student willing to learn.

Hearing that, Piers mood went through a three- sixty degree turn and his eyes lit up with a proud smile on his face.

He lifted his head upward like a might being casting his gaze heavensward and he said authoritatively.

* Nice question lass!

* He made an eccentric remark, placing both hands behind him and taking large strides towards the nearest tree with words written on it.

Though the trees in the garden held memories, still the students were not fully allowed to imprint all memories into the trees.

Only few memories are retained each passing year; utilizing special means by the professors of the academy from all students who were graduating.

Else the trees would lose their sacred meaning from over exertion.

In order to prevent that from happening, a rule was set in place to deter entering into the garden at odd hours, as well as forcefully trying to imprint a writing into the trees.

Despite the law, few students have been found breaking the rules and have been dealt with according to the punishment of defying the rule.

Piers arrived at the center of the garden, where rolls of trees were planted.

Along with a catalogue on them; depicting words and full names of a student.

* This here is Lucia.

A student who

The words written below were her words of encouragement.

For later generations to make reference to…

* He explained in one breath, with a hint of pride in his voice.

* Did you make your rules here?

* A guy with light brown hair asked him with sarcasm in his voice.

Standing amidst his peer of other guys who were at the far side of the back with him.

* No…

* Piers said drowning his face in shame, slowly turned blue in disappointment.

Causing the guy to make a poker face at him and he’s gangs had a sneer on their lips.

Amidst the group of students was Araina who stood with Calia from the group of people.

She kept looking around the place with a delightful glimmer in her eyes.

* Araina…wait…

* Calia called out to her, seeing her walking towards a distance tree absent minded.

She followed after Araina knowing she wouldn’t be able to hear her voice.

One thing Calia noticed here was the air flow in the garden was much more powerful compared to other places she had been to in the academy; like the air circulation pattern was different.

Araina stood at a tree, with scarlet purple leaves.

The tree was fat, its branches spread very wide with lots of leaves hanging on each branch.

What captures Araina’s attention was the colour of the leaves, since she was very fond of the colour purple and the leaves having a glistening hue to it became more captivating to the eye.

The tree held two catalogues placed on it stating what two individuals left behind.

One reads…

” Follow the path of your predecessor if feeling lost.” Was the first word written there, the other catalog had a writing saying.” Always stick close to rules and you be safe.” She felt so attached to the tree, staring intently at the catalogue with much intent as if she wanted to perceive the writer’s intentions for leaving behind these words; missing the presence of Calia who approached her from behind.

* Brooklyn and Einstein.

* Calia reads out loud with a hint of amusement in her voice.

Mentioning the names of the people who left the rules behind, did startled Araina slightly, as she jolted a bit and looked towards her for seconds before returning her gaze back to the catalog.

She stood there watching the tree while Calia looked at the surrounding trees in the vicinity.

Away from the large ruckus being steered by the brown hair guy and his pals, totally disregarding Piers standing.
