The rain had started before noon.

Dark clouds covered the sky above GMM University as students hurried between buildings, clutching their bags over their heads.

The campus, usually filled with laughter and chatter, had become unusually quiet beneath the steady rhythm of falling rain.Full novel: (BL) Mechanical Hearts & Architecteral Dreams — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Sky Wongravee walked through the campus with his usual cold expression.

Dressed in a black university jacket over a crisp white shirt, the Student President carried himself with confidence and authority.

Every student who passed him greeted him respectfully before quickly moving on.

No one dared to disturb him.

As a Mechanical Engineering student and the son of the Wongravee family’s powerful automobile company, Sky had long grown accustomed to being admired from a distance.

His heart, however, remained closed.

Without slowing his pace, Sky headed toward the engineering building.

Then—

A soft “Meow.”

The tiny sound somehow reached him through the rain.

He stopped.

His eyes drifted toward the old oak tree near the central garden.

There, sitting on a wooden bench beneath the tree, was someone he had never seen before.

A young man with soft brown hair carefully wrapped a tiny white kitten inside his cardigan, shielding it from the rain.

“It’s okay, Noah,” he whispered with a warm smile.

“You’ll catch a cold if you stay out here.”

The kitten rubbed its head against his hand and purred happily.

The young man’s smile was gentle enough to brighten the gloomy afternoon.

For reasons Sky couldn’t explain, he found himself unable to look away.

It was the first time someone had caught his attention so effortlessly.

The young man finally noticed Sky standing nearby.

Their eyes met.

Golden amber eyes looked at Sky with surprise before curving into a polite smile.

“Are you waiting for the rain to stop too?” he asked softly.

Sky remained silent.

After a few awkward seconds, he simply nodded.

The young man smiled again.

“I don’t mind sharing the shelter.”

There was no fear in his voice.

No hesitation.

Just kindness.

An unfamiliar feeling stirred inside Sky’s chest.

Before either of them could say another word, a loud voice echoed across the garden.

“Nani! There you are!”

A cheerful student ran toward them holding an umbrella.

“I’ve been looking everywhere for you!”

Nani laughed softly as he stood, carefully cradling Noah in his arms.

“Sorry. Noah was scared of the thunder.”

The two walked away beneath the umbrella, disappearing into the curtain of rain.

Sky remained where he was.

“…Nani.”

He quietly repeated the name to himself.

He didn’t know why.

He didn’t know who the beautiful architecture student was.

He certainly didn’t know that fate had already begun weaving their lives together.

The rain continued to fall.

And with it, the first page of a story neither of them could escape had quietly begun.
