The Architecture Department had always been known as one of the most creative corners of GMM University.
Unlike the Mechanical Engineering building, where the sounds of machines echoed through the halls, the architecture studios were filled with sketches, miniature building models, drafting tables, and the scent of wood and paper.
Nani Hirunkit loved every second of it.
“Good morning, everyone,” Professor Anan greeted as he entered the studio.
“Our annual Architectural Design Competition is only two months away. This year, you’ll be working in pairs to design a sustainable community center.”
Excited whispers spread across the classroom.
“This competition is important,” the professor continued.
“The winning team will represent GMM University at the National Architecture Expo.”
Nani’s eyes sparkled with determination.
“I’ll do my best,” he whispered to himself.
After class, he stayed behind to work on a few sketches while his classmates headed to lunch.
His best friend walked over with a grin.
“Nani, you’re staying again?”
“I just want to finish this perspective drawing.”
“You work too hard.”
Nani laughed softly.
“If I become a great architect one day, it’ll all be worth it.”
His friend smiled.
“It definitely will.”
Just then, a familiar meow echoed through the studio.
Noah had somehow slipped out of his pet carrier.
“Oh no!”
The fluffy white cat trotted happily through the hallway before disappearing out the studio door.
“Noah! Wait!”
Nani hurried after him, apologizing to everyone he passed.
The mischievous kitten raced across the campus lawn before stopping in front of the Mechanical Engineering workshop.
Students stepped aside as Noah confidently wandered inside.
“Oh… this can’t be good.”
Taking a deep breath, Nani entered the workshop.
The room was filled with the sounds of grinding metal, humming engines, and students working on machine parts.
Among them stood Sky Wongravee.
Wearing protective gloves and safety glasses, he was focused on repairing a motorcycle engine.
Even covered with a light layer of grease, he looked calm and composed.
Before Nani could call Noah, the kitten walked straight toward Sky.
“…Meow.”
Sky looked down.
The tiny cat rubbed against his leg as if they had known each other for years.
The workshop suddenly fell silent.
“Did…”
“…Did President Sky just get adopted by a cat?”
“No way.”
Everyone watched in disbelief.
Sky slowly crouched down.
For a moment, his cold expression remained unchanged.
Then…
He gently scratched Noah behind the ears.
The kitten purred happily.
Nani froze.
“I-I’m so sorry!” he said, rushing forward.
“He loves exploring new places.”
Sky looked at the omega before returning his gaze to the kitten.
“So…”
“This is Noah.”
Nani smiled sheepishly.
“Yes.”
Sky carefully lifted the fluffy cat into his arms.
“…He’s heavier than he looks.”
Nani couldn’t help but laugh.
“He eats more than he should.”
For the first time, Sky noticed how beautiful Nani’s smile was when he laughed without holding back.
It was warm.
Comforting.
Different from anything Sky had ever known.
Noah let out another satisfied purr, completely unaware that he had just broken the silence between two people whose lives were slowly becoming intertwined.
Standing in the noisy engineering workshop, with a mischievous white cat between them, neither Sky nor Nani realized that this would not be their last unexpected meeting.
Some encounters were arranged by chance.
Others…
Were arranged by destiny.
