The days passed quietly after the university orientation.
Although Sky Wongravee and Nani Hirunkit had crossed paths several times, they had never shared more than a few words.
Yet, somehow, each encounter lingered in their minds longer than it should.
Late one afternoon, the university library was unusually peaceful.
Sunlight filtered through the tall windows, casting a warm glow over rows of bookshelves.
Nani sat at a corner table, surrounded by architecture books, blueprints, and a notebook filled with sketches.
Noah lay curled up beside him, fast asleep after wandering around the library earlier.
Nani sighed softly.
“The structural calculations are harder than I expected…”
He rubbed his forehead before reaching for another book.
At the same moment, someone reached for the very same book.
Their hands touched.
Nani looked up.
“…President Sky?”
Sky blinked, equally surprised.
“…You.”
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Then Sky quietly pulled the book from the shelf and handed it to Nani.
“You were reaching for it first.”
“Thank you.”
Nani accepted it with a grateful smile.
Sky noticed the title.
Modern Structural Engineering for Architects.
“You understand engineering?” he asked.
“A little,” Nani replied.
Sky nodded.
“That’s true.”
For the first time, their conversation lasted longer than a few seconds.
Just then, the librarian approached their table.
“I’m sorry, students, but we’re closing early today because of scheduled maintenance.”
Nani glanced outside.
Dark clouds had gathered once again.
“Oh…”
As if on cue, thunder echoed across the campus.
A heavy downpour followed.
Nani smiled helplessly.
“I forgot my umbrella.”
Sky looked out the window before opening his backpack.
He took out a large black umbrella.
“I have one.”
Nani blinked.
“You don’t mind?”
“It’s on my way.”
Nani hesitated for a moment before smiling warmly.
“Then… thank you.”
They walked out of the library together beneath the umbrella.
The rain fell steadily around them, creating a peaceful silence.
Students passing by stared in disbelief.
“Isn’t that the Student President?”
“Who’s the omega with him?”
“They’re sharing an umbrella!” You are reading on g.com, the official source.
Sky ignored every curious glance.
Nani, however, felt slightly embarrassed.
“I’m sorry if people start rumors.”
Sky remained calm.
“People will always talk.”
Nani laughed softly.
“I guess that’s true.”
As they reached the Architecture building, Noah suddenly poked his head out of Nani’s backpack and let out a loud meow.
Sky looked down at the fluffy white cat.
“…He likes me.”
Nani giggled.
“Noah has good taste.”
For a split second, the corner of Sky’s lips lifted into the faintest smile.
It disappeared almost as quickly as it appeared.
But Nani saw it.
And somehow…
That tiny smile made the cold afternoon feel unexpectedly warm.
Neither of them realized that someone across the courtyard had witnessed the entire scene.
Standing beneath the shelter of the Mechanical Engineering building, Tay Tawan watched his younger brother walk away from the Architecture Department.
A knowing smile spread across his face.
“So…”
“Our Ice Prince can smile after all.”
Perhaps fate had begun moving faster than either Sky or Nani could imagine.
