The morning after Tay left the Wongravee Mansion, an eerie silence hung over the house.
Sky descended the grand staircase dressed in his university uniform, expecting to see his older brother reading the morning newspaper as usual.
Instead, Tay’s seat at the dining table was empty.
It felt…
wrong.
“Sit down.”
Wongravee’s stern voice broke the silence.
Sky quietly took his seat across from his father.
Neither of them touched their breakfast.
After a long pause, Wongravee finally spoke.
“Your brother has chosen to disgrace this family.”
Sky remained silent.
“He abandoned his responsibilities for love.”
Again, Sky said nothing.
His father looked directly into his eyes.
“You won’t make the same mistake.”
Sky felt his chest tighten.
“What do you mean, Father?”
“The marriage alliance with the Lily family will continue.”
Sky frowned slightly.
“But Brother—”
“I’m not talking about Tay anymore.”
A heavy silence filled the room.
“I’m talking about you.”
Sky’s hand froze around his coffee cup.
“…Me?”
“From this day onward, you will be the one engaged to Prim Lily.”
The words struck Sky like thunder.
“I won’t allow years of planning to be destroyed because of your brother’s selfishness.”
Sky slowly stood from his chair.
“Father… I don’t even know Prim.”
“You don’t need to.”
“It’s your duty as my son.”
Sky clenched his fists.
“I respect you.”
“I respect this family.”
“But I can’t marry someone I’ve never loved.”
Wongravee’s expression remained cold.
“Love is a luxury.”
“Responsibility comes first.”
The room fell silent once more.
Sky lowered his gaze.
Ever since he was a child, every decision in his life had been made for him.
His university major.
His future career.
Even the company he would inherit.
And now…
His marriage.
Without another word, Sky picked up his bag and walked toward the door.
“Where are you going?” his father demanded.
“To university.”
“Think carefully about what I’ve said.”
Sky stopped for only a second.
“I already have.”
Then he walked out.
At GMM University, the atmosphere couldn’t have been more different.
Students laughed beneath the morning sunshine as clubs prepared for the upcoming university festival.
Nani was sitting beneath the familiar oak tree, sketching a new building design while Noah chased butterflies across the grass.
The peaceful scene made him smile.
“You really like this place, don’t you?” he asked the little cat.
Noah answered with a cheerful meow.
Nani looked up.
“…President Sky?”
Sky looked unusually tired.
There were faint dark circles beneath his eyes, and his expression was even colder than usual.
“You don’t look well,” Nani said gently.
“I’m fine.”
Nani wasn’t convinced.
He reached into his bag and pulled out a small carton of warm milk.
“I bought this for Noah, but I think you need it more.”
Sky stared at the drink in surprise.
“You should eat something when you’re stressed.”
For a moment, Sky simply looked at him.
No one—not even his own father—had ever noticed something as simple as whether he had eaten.
“…Thank you.”
He accepted the carton quietly.
Nani smiled.
“I’m glad.”
Neither of them spoke after that.
They simply sat together beneath the old tree while Noah played happily between them.
For the first time in what felt like years, Sky experienced a moment of peace.
But peace never lasted long.
Across the campus, a black luxury car slowly pulled up to the university entrance.
A graceful young woman stepped out, dressed elegantly despite the casual campus setting.
Students immediately began whispering.
“Who is she?”
“She’s beautiful…”
She adjusted her sunglasses and smiled politely at the receptionist.
“Excuse me.”
“I’m looking for Sky Wongravee.”
Her name was Prim Lily.
And she had come to meet the man everyone believed would soon become her fiancé.
