“You little slut, you actually dared to run! I’m definitely going to play you to death tonight!”

In her daze, Lin Xiuyan heard a revolting, lecherous voice. Then, she felt a chill as a coarse, cold hand touched her back.

A shiver ran through her, her skin crawling with goosebumps, and her scattered consciousness instantly snapped back into place.Full novel: Black-hearted Prince, Kneel and Depart — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Was she still alive?

But she remembered being pushed onto the execution block by Zhou Chenyang. She had seen the heavy blade fall with her own eyes and had even felt that excruciating pain!

She snapped her eyes open, only to see a pot-bellied man with white hair and withered skin, salivating as he reached for her chest.

Subconsciously, she tried to strike the man, only to find her entire body limp and her fingertips devoid of strength.

Decisively, she pulled the hairpin from her hair and thrust it into the man’s chest with all her might. However, due to her lack of strength, she failed to hit a vital spot.

The man cried out in pain and raised his hand to slap her. “Do you really think of yourself as the City Lord’s fiancée?”

“Bah! He already sold you to me to feed the tigers in my garden. You’re only worth one copper coin more than the pigs in the pen…”

Before he could finish his sentence, Lin Xiuyan grabbed an axe nearby—originally intended to dismember her—and swung it, severing his head with a single blow.

Blood sprayed everywhere, coating Lin Xiuyan’s face.

She wiped her face with her hand, gasping for breath.

Her almond eyes narrowed as her memories flooded back.

She was indeed alive, and she had returned to the night she was sold like a fat pig to the old pervert of the beast garden by her fiancé, Zhou Chenyang, the man she had once held in high regard. It was all a plot to seize her family’s immense fortune.

That night, although she hadn’t lost her virginity, she had been tortured until she wished for death. Afterward, Zhou Chenyang had pretended to be the hero who rescued her, claiming he didn’t mind what had happened and was still willing to marry her.

Following that night, she had stepped into the trap Zhou Chenyang had painstakingly woven for her. Her family was destroyed, her closest kin died tragic deaths, and after he had squeezed every bit of value out of her, she was left without even a whole corpse to bury!

Heaven had opened its eyes and let her return to the living. She would make Zhou Chenyang pay for his crimes in blood!

She tried to stand up but found her limbs weak. Only then did she remember that Zhou Chenyang, fearing she would run, had fed her Ruanjinsan before sending her here.

That single axe swing just now had exhausted all the strength in her body.

Lin Xiuyan struggled to stand. After several failed attempts, a slender, well-proportioned hand reached out to support her arm. “Careful, Miss!”

Startled, she turned her head and saw a man dressed in white, wearing a fox mask.

Even though she couldn’t see his face, she could still sense his almost otherworldly temperament—elegant, noble, and as graceful as a jade tree in the wind.

Encountering such a man in a hellhole like this was abnormal no matter how one looked at it.

More importantly, she hadn’t heard a single sound as he approached!

She steadied herself unsteadily. “Thank you, sir.”

Ye Junfei looked her up and down before asking, “May I ask, Miss, do you know where the woman who was supposed to be fed to the tigers today is?”

Lin Xiuyan’s pupils contracted slightly. Was he looking for her?

He was wearing a fox mask, and though his voice sounded familiar, she couldn’t recall where she had heard it before.

She asked tentatively, “Do you have business with her, sir?”

Ye Junfei’s gaze was gentle as he replied, “It’s nothing much. I just wanted to ask her for a bowl of blood to drink.”

Lin Xiuyan: “…”

Where did this freak come from? How could he talk about drinking human blood as elegantly as if he were discussing tea?

She pointed outside the door. “I just dismembered her and threw her into the tiger enclosure. If you head there now, sir, her blood probably hasn’t finished draining yet.”

Ye Junfei looked at her again. “Are you the one in charge of dismembering bodies here, Miss?”

Lin Xiuyan looked at the old pervert’s corpse lying in a pool of blood, then at the axe in her hand, and nodded. “Yes.”

Ye Junfei praised her, “You are quite brave, Miss. If it were me, I wouldn’t dare.”

As he spoke, he stepped forward and crushed the old pervert’s head—which had rolled near him—with his foot. “I’m timid; I’m afraid of seeing such things.”

Lin Xiuyan: “…”

Lin Xiuyan: “!!”

She was certain now—this man was also a psycho.

She forced a couple of dry laughs. “You certainly know how to joke, sir.”

Ye Junfei asked gently, “Let me confirm with you once more, Miss. The woman meant for the tigers today was dismembered by you and thrown into the enclosure?”

Lin Xiuyan nodded. “I did it myself. I am very certain.”

Ye Junfei clasped his hands toward her. “Many thanks!”

With that, he turned to walk out.

The smile on Lin Xiuyan’s face vanished instantly. Although she didn’t know who this man was, one look told her he was trouble.

He was likely another customer Zhou Chenyang had found specifically to drink her blood. Once he reached the beast garden and saw no female corpse, he would return for her very quickly.

She had finally been reborn; she had to stay alive!

Killing intent rose in her heart. Narrowing her eyes, she swung the heavy axe toward Ye Junfei’s back.

Just as it was about to strike him, he acted as if he had eyes in the back of his head. He reached out two fingers and effortlessly pinched the sharp blade of the axe.

Ye Junfei turned around slowly, his phoenix eyes dancing with a half-smile as he looked at Lin Xiuyan. “You’re being naughty.”

Lin Xiuyan gripped the axe tightly, trying to pull it back, but it wouldn’t budge an inch.

Ye Junfei gave a light chuckle and flicked his wrist. Lin Xiuyan felt a massive force surge toward her; the axe flew from her hands and embedded itself deep into the wall.

While she was still reeling in shock, Ye Junfei reached out to pinch her chin, saying tenderly, “Lying is not a good habit.”

He leaned in close and sniffed her. “Miss, do you mind if I drink a little of your blood?”

Lin Xiuyan: “…”

She swallowed hard and said, “I do mind. That old man has plenty of blood; why don’t you drink his?”

Ye Junfei shook his head. “He is old and ugly; his blood is fishy and foul. It is not nearly as fresh and sweet as yours.”

“Please, Miss, be kind and let me have a sip.”

“Don’t worry, Miss. After I’m done drinking, I’ll kill you. No one will ever know.”

Looking at his demeanor, Lin Xiuyan knew he wasn’t just talking.

She frantically searched for a counter-strategy in her mind while maintaining a timid smile on her face. She asked, “Will it hurt?”

Ye Junfei replied, “You’ll know once we try, won’t you?”

He leaned closer and sniffed her again, a trace of surprise flickering in his eyes.

He smelled a sweet fragrance on her that was masked by the scent of blood.

That fragrance was incredibly pleasant, and it actually caused his meridians—which had been agitated and chaotic after a cultivation deviation—to calm down.

Doubt rose in his heart. Could she be the person with the special constitution that his master had been searching for?

To verify his theory, he leaned in toward her neck to sniff again.

The breath of a strange man filled her face, carrying a domineering aura that wouldn’t take no for an answer, making the hair all over her body stand on end.

He felt that wasn’t enough, so he extended the tip of his tongue and licked a spot on her face that wasn’t stained with blood. “So sweet!”

Lin Xiuyan: “…”

Absolute psycho!

She raised her leg to knee him in the groin. Expecting this, he reached down to block her.

Simultaneously, she used the last of her strength to strike hard at a pressure point on his chest.

He let out a muffled groan, and she turned to bolt.

He hooked his foot around hers, sending her crashing to the ground. She reached out to grab his lower abdomen, but as he shifted to avoid her, his balance faltered, and he pinned her heavily beneath him.

His face happened to land right against her chest…
