Li Sheng felt that Yuan Ye’s words threw him a bit into a panic. Never had a single person so domineeringly barged into his life, incessantly displaying their affection. He remained silent, only treating Yuan Ye’s actions as a momentary whim. In fact, many times Li Sheng wanted to say that once Li Fan’s matter concluded, the two of them would go their separate ways again. However, Yuan Ye was a ruthless person who could instantly grasp Li Sheng’s needs. Regardless of whether Yuan Ye’s initial need was out of amusement or using him as a chess piece, the moment he walked out the door, Li Sheng had compromised entirely.
Yuan Ye lacked a bed partner to play house with, while he needed a bond to forget the past, and there were also no small interests involved in between. Everything needed no reason to resist, and there was simply no need to turn down this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The person right in front of him was, after all, Yuan Ye—a man standing at the center of the industry.
Li Sheng turned around to face Yuan Ye, reached out and pinched his waist. “I really just miss him a lot. So what? Exactly how do you plan to mount me?”
Yuan Ye frowned, reached out and pinched Li Sheng’s chin. “You asked for this.”
Yuan Ye drove back home almost as if flying, and he almost took Li Sheng right there in the car. For some reason, the look in Li Sheng’s eyes after drinking was simply worlds apart from his usual righteous and stern appearance, hooking him so much that he wished he could swallow Li Sheng whole in one bite.
As soon as they entered the door, Yuan Ye immediately picked Li Sheng up horizontally, and the two of them tumbled onto the bed. Yuan Ye lightly kissed Li Sheng’s lips and said with a warning tone, “You are not allowed to drink outside anymore, you hear me?”
Li Sheng looked a bit impatient. “You talk too much nonsense, or else I’ll go back to my own place.”
“You really are the first person to make me lose control a little.”
Li Sheng hurriedly pinched Yuan Ye’s mouth, which was about to kiss down. “You better be gentle, my arm hasn’t even had its stitches removed yet.”
Afterwards, Li Sheng did regret indulging himself a bit. He never expected Yuan Ye to be a person who couldn’t stop; until it felt completely satisfying, the matter wouldn’t end. After it was over, he insisted on placing a quite heavy arm across Li Sheng’s neck, choking him so that he couldn’t sleep for half the night. Li Sheng really wanted to say that he regretted it.
Early the next morning, when Li Sheng woke up, he saw Yuan Ye’s face almost pressed right against his, staring with a pair of eyes, which gave him a fright. Just as he was about to dodge away, he was grabbed by Yuan Ye in one swift motion. Li Sheng became somewhat annoyed. “Are you out of your mind?”
Yuan Ye didn’t answer, but looked especially good-spirited. Naked, he walked into the bathroom and began to wash up. Li Sheng had to admit that Yuan Ye’s figure was actually quite watchable; it seemed he also did a good deal of exercise regularly, without letting his training slip in the slightest. Pulling back his gaze, he also got up to get ready. In a while, he still had to go to the company to handle his resignation procedures. As for the boss easily agreeing over the phone yesterday, he wasn’t surprised at all. Yang Shu had already left, and anyone with eyes could see right through this matter. Therefore, when the boss received Li Sheng’s resignation call, he agreed without the slightest hesitation, telling him to come directly the next day to process the resignation. Sure enough, the person Li Mengying mentioned was indeed the one coming to take his place.
When he went to the company, he happened to run into the newly arrived design director. But upon seeing him, he froze. Not only did he know this person, but they were very close. The man also froze when he caught sight of Li Sheng, and immediately the two of them went to the smoking room in the corridor. The man handed a cigarette to Li Sheng, smiling as he said, “Long time no see.”
Li Sheng didn’t reply, and instead asked, “Why did you come back?”
“Wei Heng left, so I had to come back.”
“How do you know he left?”
“Him? He went to Myanmar for your brother.”
The cigarette in Li Sheng’s hand trembled, dropping a few wisps of ash. Seeing Li Sheng’s expression, the man sneered. “You really are cheap, letting people mount you for five years without getting a damn thing, only for the other person to go risk their life and limb for the one they love in the end. Li Sheng, wake up. He isn’t someone we ought to love.”
Li Sheng took a drag of the cigarette, the faint mist lingering in the air. “Cheng Xiao, fortunately you’re a rational person. I’m already thirty, yet I still live in such a muddled way.”
“If I really were a rational person like you say, I wouldn’t still be waiting for love right up until now.”
Li Sheng shoved a business card into Cheng Xiao’s hands. “Call this number. Since you’re back, I’m free anytime.”
“By the way, those two idiots—whose leader’s kids are they?”
Li Sheng was momentarily stunned, not knowing who he was talking about, but then suddenly thought of something and asked, “Li Mengying? Cheng Jun?”
“Ah, seems those were the two names.”
Li Sheng patted Cheng Xiao’s shoulder. “Wish you peace.”
Cheng Xiao had no idea why, shrugged his shoulders, and went back to the office.
