The living world, Yan Nation.
The current ruler of Yan Nation, Long Taiyue, was over sixty years old, so he had not entered the Multiverse Dungeons.
Now, dragging his exhausted body forward heavily, he convened an urgent emergency cabinet meeting.
The topic of the meeting was this current Multiverse Dungeon and the upcoming first wave of disaster.
The person mentioned most often at the meeting was “Gilgamesh.” Both Long Taiyue and the cabinet members were basically certain that the Reincarnator using the alias “Gilgamesh” was extremely out of the ordinary.
According to the information they had received, so far only Yan Nation had Reincarnators returning, and all of them were from Yan Nation Region 1680, where “Gilgamesh” was located.
Most importantly, aside from the information bestowed by the Myriad Worlds Paradise, all the other information these Reincarnators brought back came repeatedly and overwhelmingly from “Gilgamesh,” forming a persistent presence that was almost impossible to ignore.
That included information about Shinigami and Hollows.
Though many days had passed inside the Multiverse Dungeons, only about twenty minutes had passed in the real world.
Facing the impending disaster, time was money.
The earlier they knew about the disaster, the more time they had to prepare and respond.
But Long Taiyue and the cabinet members all frowned.
Faced with the known disaster information, they didn’t know where to start, as an almost suffocating pressure weighed on their thoughts.
Because living world technology was still in a blank state regarding souls.
That meant humanity in the living world had no means to deal with Hollows, and couldn’t even detect their existence.
This fact left them in a state of silent, suppressed helplessness that weighed heavily on them.
Still, they weren’t in despair.
Because they still had hope.
Their hope lay in the Reincarnators who had entered the Multiverse Dungeons.
Especially the Reincarnators of Yan Nation Region 1680.
Especially Gilgamesh.
They hoped that when these people returned, they would already possess the power to fight the disaster.
Of course, there were things they could do now: prepare to welcome the returning Reincarnators, and draft various emergency response plans for the disaster.
Unlike the turbulent living world, the Multiverse Dungeons were mostly peaceful.
Since the beginner dungeon had a 7-day newbie protection period, as long as you don’t seek death, you basically wouldn’t die.
Yan Nation Region 1680.
The next day arrived as expected.
Today, Ren had taken a leave of absence.
He stayed home, waiting for Kisuke Urahara to show up.
During this time, he browsed the Regional Chat Channel.
The first thing he checked was whether any new Side Quests had appeared.
[Side Quest: Become the uncrowned king of any district in Rukongai…] [Side Quest: Achieve “One Hundred Kills” in Rukongai…] [Side Quest: Enter Seireitei…] [Side Quest: Successfully join Shinō Academy…] Over the past few days, with Ren and Lu Zhengtian’s cooperation, nine military Reincarnators had successfully entered Soul Society.
These Side Quests had been issued during that time.
But no one had been able to complete them yet.
Though Ren had foreknowledge of the Story, being in the living world, he couldn’t do much about those Side Quests.
Suddenly, Ren spotted a Side Quest he hadn’t seen before.
His eyes narrowed slightly.
[Side Quest: Soul Society, living world, …
The puzzle of the three worlds still has one last piece unrevealed.
Please reveal the truth of the last piece in the Regional Chat Channel.] [Quest Reward: 1 E-Rank Plot Token Instance, 2000 Myriad Points.] Ren knew what the last piece was.
Without hesitation, he accepted the quest.
Then he began scrolling through the Regional Chat Channel.
Soon, he found the information he was looking for.
“Exorcist Boy: Hahaha, one second I was running from a Hollow, the next thing I know the world has changed.
Everyone, check this out.
Have I made it to Soul Society?
(video attached)” Ren opened the video.
The video showed nothing but white desert, with a few quartz dead trees dotting the landscape.
It looked extremely desolate, eerily silent, and a suffocating emptiness pressed against the senses.
“So jealous.
How did you get into Soul Society?
@Exorcist Boy” “You can get into Soul Society like that?
Didn’t @Gilgamesh say you need a Shinigami’s Konsō to get there?” “I don’t want to be a downer, but this doesn’t feel like Soul Society to me.
It’s completely different from where @Tian Wenwen posted, and it gives me a strong, uneasy feeling.” “Not necessarily.
Soul Society is huge.
It’s normal for some places to be barren.” “If that’s true, then there are other ways to enter Soul Society?” …
Seeing that so-called clever people were getting restless again, Ren truly didn’t even know what to say anymore.
After some thought, Ren sent a few messages in the Regional Chat Channel under the alias “Gilgamesh.” “@Exorcist Boy, I’m sorry to tell you, but that’s not Soul Society.
That’s Hueco Mundo, the Hollows’ home base.” “Souls that end up there will, unless something unexpected happens, eventually be devoured by other Hollows, becoming fuel for their strength.” “And Hueco Mundo has only one rule for survival: the strong devour the weak, a brutal law where existence itself is reduced to predation.
If you can’t grow stronger, you’ll eventually be devoured by other Hollows, becoming fuel for their strength.” “That said, if you can survive and keep evolving, you might gain power comparable to a Shinigami.” After sending those messages, Ren received a notification that the Side Quest was complete, along with the quest rewards.
Ren didn’t pay further attention to Exorcist Boy.
Honestly, he wasn’t optimistic about Exorcist Boy’s chances.
He didn’t think he would survive in Hueco Mundo.
The ecosystem of Hueco Mundo was far more brutal than he had described, a place where silence itself felt like pressure.
And Exorcist Boy’s messages had been sent in the middle of last night.
There had been nothing since.
He was probably already dead.
After scrolling through the Regional Chat Channel a bit more, Ren heard Urahara’s lighthearted voice from outside the window.
“Is Ren home?” His spirits lifted.
Ren immediately pushed open the window and stepped into the air, jumping out.
He landed right beside Urahara and asked eagerly, “Give it to me.” Yawning, Urahara casually handed over a capsule.
SYSTEM NOTIFICATION: Hollow bait capsule acquired.
“Just open the capsule and let the Hollow bait inside disperse.
It’ll attract large numbers of Hollows.
The effect lasts 12 hours.” Then, unable to contain his curiosity, he asked, “So, what do you need this for anyway?” Ren took the capsule, smiled at Urahara, and said, “To get stronger.” Urahara was taken aback.
He didn’t understand what that had to do with this.
Before he could ask, Ren was already stepping into the air, shooting up into the sky.
He opened the capsule, letting the Hollow bait scatter in the wind.
Urahara’s pupils sharply constricted.
A suffocating silence began to press down on the atmosphere.
This was the city center.
Using Hollow bait here would make cleanup very troublesome.
Under Urahara’s watch, golden ripples in space appeared behind Ren, carrying a faint sense of nobility.
Then, a bronze bow and arrow, radiating a noble aura and embedded with many precious gems, emerged from the ripples.
Ren picked up the bow, aimed in a direction, and released an arrow without hesitation.
Awakening.
