The new gadget was an absolute masterpiece.
Urahara sat across the desk, grinning proudly in his striped hat as he showed off the little wooden device.
“The Auto-Approval Stamp,” Urahara explained, tapping the glowing blue gear on top.
“It runs on a tiny spark of spirit energy.
Feed a stack of boring squad documents underneath, and it stamps every single page in two seconds flat.”
Kazuma held the stamp in his hands, staring at it like it was a sacred treasure.
“Urahara,” Kazuma said, his voice deep with emotion.
“You are a national hero.”
Sitting on the corner of the desk was a massive, two-foot-tall pile of unread squad reports, patrol schedules, and budget requests.
Kazuma didn’t look at a single page.
He grabbed the entire stack, slammed the stamp onto the top, and tapped the gear.
*THWACK-THWACK-THWACK-THWACK!*
In less than three seconds, the machine blurred through the pile.
Every single document received a neat, bold red seal in the bottom corner:
*APPROVED.*
*APPROVED.*
*APPROVED.*
“Done,” Kazuma sighed happily, leaning back against the tatami floor with a peaceful smile.
“A full week of paperwork, finished before lunch.
Truly, technology is a blessing.”
“Glad you like it,” Urahara chuckled, taking a sip of tea.
“Don’t worry,” Kazuma waved a lazy hand.
“Yamamoto will never know.”
Right on cue, the sliding door of the office slammed open with a loud *BANG!*
Standing in the doorway was a Second Division stealth messenger, kneeling on one knee with a look of extreme urgency.
“Captain Kazuma!
Captain Urahara!” the messenger announced in a sharp voice.
“Captain-Commander Yamamoto and Lady Yoruichi have acknowledged your joint petition!”
Kazuma stopped in the middle of stretching.
He blinked, turning his head slowly toward the messenger.
“Our…
what?” Kazuma asked.
The messenger held up a thick, black-bordered document pulled straight from the freshly stamped pile.
In the bottom corner, Kazuma’s bright red seal was still wet with ink: *APPROVED.*
“The emergency transfer request for the Special Detention Facility,” the messenger read aloud.
“Captain Kazuma of the Tenth Division and Captain Urahara of the Twelfth Division have officially co-signed the release order for prisoner Kurotsuchi Mayuri from the Maggots’ Nest to build the new Research Bureau.”
The room went completely dead silent.
Kazuma’s lazy smile slowly froze on his face.
He turned his head toward Urahara.
Urahara slowly pulled his striped hat down over his eyes, scratching his cheek with an awkward, nervous grin.
“Ah…” Urahara muttered, sweating slightly. Follow the newest chapters on g.com.
“I might have slipped that prisoner request into your inbox this morning.
I needed a second Captain’s signature to bypass the high council, and…
well, your stamp was very fast.”
Kazuma stared at Urahara for five long seconds.
“Urahara.”
“Yes, Captain Kazuma?”
“Did you just trick me into bailing a psychotic mad scientist out of supermax prison?”
“I wouldn’t call him psychotic,” Urahara chuckled nervously, holding his hands up.
“He’s just…
highly enthusiastic about human anatomy.”
The messenger stood up, bowing deeply.
“Lady Yoruichi is already waiting at the underground entrance of the Second Division barracks.
Both Captains are ordered to oversee the transfer immediately.”
The messenger vanished in a flash of speed, leaving the door swinging in the wind.
Kazuma let out a long, heavy groan, pulling his straw hat all the way down over his face and slamming his forehead onto the wooden desk.
“I just wanted to take a nap,” Kazuma mumbled into the wood.
“Why does my laziness always turn into heavy labor?”
“Look on the bright side, Captain,” Urahara laughed, picking up his wooden cane and standing up.
“Once Mayuri is in the lab, he can build even better auto-stamps for you!”
Kazuma sighed, standing up and dusting off his white Captain’s coat with deep regret.
“If that creepy guy tries to dissect me,” Kazuma muttered, walking out the door toward the darkest prison in the Soul Society, “I am charging it directly to your research budget.”
