Dessert Shop.

Fu Siyan couldn’t possibly handle both taking care of Sheng Wanyu and working alone, so he called his assistant Xu Kun over.Full novel: Blind Date with a Baby, Then Marriage: My Puppy Husband is the Richest Man! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Xu Kun was also single—not only had he never taken care of a child, he didn’t even have a girlfriend.

When he rushed over after receiving Fu Siyan’s call and saw his esteemed Young Master Fu holding a little girl and coaxing her with a smile, he was almost stunned.

Damn, was this still the same esteemed young master who dominated the business world?

He was actually in a dessert shop, soothing a baby.

“What are you staring at?” Fu Siyan had been holding Sheng Wanyu and comforting her for a while when he noticed Xu Kun standing frozen at the entrance out of the corner of his eye. He immediately snapped, “Aren’t you coming in to help?”

“Yes, yes, Young Master.” Xu Kun quickly scurried over and bent down to look at the adorable, pink-cheeked baby girl in Fu Siyan’s arms.

Honestly, she really was quite pretty?

And upon closer inspection, why did she look so much like his Young Master Fu?

Xu Kun stared at the little milk bun Sheng Wanyu, eagerly reaching out to hold her. But as soon as his hand extended and before he could even touch Sheng Wanyu’s chubby little hand, she instantly burst into loud wails.

She was quite delicate—not just any man could get close to her.

Only Fu Siyan could hold her and kiss her.

No one else was allowed.

Sheng Wanyu cried loudly in protest, her little mouth whimpering pitifully: No… no…

Seeing this, Fu Siyan guessed that the baby was picky about people.

She didn’t want Xu Kun to hold her.

He immediately lifted her up high, saying, “Good baby.”

“Don’t cry, don’t cry. Daddy won’t give you to the bad uncle.”

Daddy??

Xu Kun stood there dumbfounded. Damn, was Young Master Fu getting a bit too into this role-play?

Wasn’t this child supposed to be from Miss Sheng’s ex-boyfriend?

And Young Master Fu didn’t mind?

Xu Kun couldn’t help but marvel at how truly in love the young master was with Miss Sheng.

“Did you bring the company laptop?” Fu Siyan asked, turning his face slightly toward the stunned Xu Kun after lifting Sheng Wanyu up high for a while.

Xu Kun nodded. “Yes, yes, I brought it.”

“Young Master Fu, are you planning to work here?”

Fu Siyan wiped Sheng Wanyu’s tears and held her affectionately, saying, “Yes. After I talk to my wife… I’ll move back to the company.”

Sheng Xingyang still suspected he was bought off by Lin Meisu.

He planned to find an opportunity to explain things to her.

Otherwise, she would always be wary of him.

Xu Kun understood and immediately, respectfully and swiftly, placed his briefcase on the table, opened it, and took out the laptop inside, setting it on the table.

“Young Master Fu, should I stay in the shop to help you from now on?” Xu Kun asked as he turned on the computer screen.

Fu Siyan glanced at him. “What do you think?”

Wasn’t that an unnecessary question?

It was impossible for him to handle both company matters and the dessert shop alone.

“Sorry, Young Master, I spoke out of turn.” Xu Kun immediately patted his own mouth and said, “Don’t worry, I’ll help you manage this little shop properly.”

Fu Siyan hummed in acknowledgment, holding Sheng Wanyu—who had stopped crying and was now obediently nestled in his arms, sucking on her pacifier and playing—while starting to work.

Xu Kun went over to the counter to tidy up.

After handling some work for a while, Fu Siyan glanced back at Xu Kun and said, “Go hire a server.”

“Also, from now on, don’t call me Young Master Fu in the shop. Just call me Brother Yan, so my wife doesn’t get suspicious.”

“She knows nothing about me right now, and I’m afraid if she suddenly finds out I’m from the Fu family, she’ll want to divorce me.”

Sheng Xingyang seemed like the kind of woman who would do just that.

She appeared to be highly vigilant.

If she found out his true identity, she would probably file for divorce.

Xu Kun understood. “Alright.”

“Also, go order a baby car seat now,” Fu Siyan continued to instruct.

Xu Kun took out his notebook and jotted it down.

After noting it down, he went back to tidying up the dessert shop.

Meanwhile, Fu Siyan held Sheng Wanyu while handling work matters. Time ticked by, and an hour passed.

Sheng Wanyu grew restless in Fu Siyan’s arms.

She began wiggling her little arms and legs, gently kicking against Fu Siyan’s chest. The kicking made it impossible for Fu Siyan to focus on his work, so he closed his laptop, placed Sheng Wanyu on the floor, and held her under her armpits to help her walk.

“Baby, do you want to walk?” Fu Siyan asked gently as he bent down to guide her.

Sheng Wanyu seemed to understand. She immediately blinked her big, beautiful, bright eyes—dark as black grapes—at Fu Siyan, her chubby little mouth babbling, “Wa… walk…”

“Okay, Daddy will help you walk,” Fu Siyan said, thinking that Sheng Wanyu learned things quite quickly.

He had only casually asked her, and she had already picked it up.

Although she couldn’t yet speak a full sentence coherently,

she could at least mimic his mouth movements—a clever little cutie.

“Young Master Fu, you could actually send her to an early education center. It would not only be more convenient but also help her learn things!” Xu Kun suggested, having finished tidying the counter and trotting over.

He thought that since they were both men, taking care of a little girl would surely be quite inconvenient.

“No, she’s still too young. I’ll take care of her,” Fu Siyan said, having grown fond of his role as a father.

He truly treated Sheng Wanyu as his own precious treasure and couldn’t bear to send her to an early education center so soon.

Xu Kun: …

Alright, if the young master was happy playing daddy,

he, as a mere assistant, shouldn’t offer unsolicited advice.

Xu Kun glanced down at the adorable, pink-cheeked little bundle that was Sheng Wanyu. Honestly, she really did resemble his young master, Fu Siyan?

But Young Master Fu had never met Miss Sheng before.

This child couldn’t possibly be his.

Xu Kun scratched his head, pondered for a moment, and said, “Young Master Fu, I’ll go buy the car seat now.”

Fu Siyan picked up the tired Sheng Wanyu and said, “While you’re at it, buy a baby walker for her to practice walking.”

He didn’t want to send Sheng Wanyu to an unfamiliar early education center, but holding her all the time wasn’t a solution either.

Since she was already learning to walk,

he could buy one for her.

He remembered that his aunt’s son had also bought one and was practicing walking with it.

“Got it, I’ll go buy it right away,” Xu Kun nodded and prepared to head out for the shopping.

Fu Siyan held Sheng Wanyu and checked his watch. Since no one was coming into the shop at the moment, he could take Wanyu along for the shopping trip.

Besides, it would give her a chance to play outside.

“Wait, go get the car. I’ll bring her along,” Fu Siyan said.

Xu Kun retracted the leg he had already stepped out with. “Alright.”

The two men, one after the other, carried the little pink bundle out of the dessert shop and got into the car, heading to a nearby shopping mall.

However, Fu Siyan was, after all, a novice at parenting.

When he took Sheng Wanyu out shopping, he forgot to inform Sheng Xingyang.

By the time he brought Sheng Wanyu to a high-end mother-and-baby store in the mall to buy the walker and car seat, Sheng Xingyang had come to check on them.

During a break at work, she wanted to see how Wanyu was doing in the shop.

Was she scared or crying around strangers?

But when she opened the surveillance feed, she found that there was no one in the shop at all?

She immediately adjusted the surveillance footage to an earlier time and saw the scene of Fu Siyan carrying Sheng Wanyu out of the store.

At the sight of this, Sheng Xingyang instantly lost her composure.

Her beautiful brows furrowed, and she instinctively wondered if Fu Siyan had taken her daughter away. Anxious and tense, she grabbed her phone, stood up from her workstation, and hurried out of the office area. Once in the empty hallway, she called Fu Siyan.

The call went through, and Fu Siyan answered quickly, his voice a pleasant, deep baritone: “Sister?”

Hearing his voice, half of Sheng Xingyang’s anger and urge to confront him instantly dissipated. She bit her lip and said, “Where did you take Wanyu?”

“We’re at the baby store, planning to buy her a walker,” Fu Siyan replied honestly. After a pause, sensing the tension and anger in Sheng Xingyang’s voice, he suddenly realized he hadn’t informed her earlier and quickly added, “Sorry, I didn’t tell you.”

“Don’t be angry.”

Sheng Xingyang had indeed wanted to be angry earlier, but upon learning he was just buying something like a walker, her irritation faded.

“Next time, remember to let me know.”

After all, she still held some wariness toward him.
