14 – Since you like being a dog and biting people so much, it’s time to taste dog urine.
“What’s the matter? It’s just a meal invitation, not some awards ceremony. Do we really need to go toast them? That’s ridiculous.” Shen Jiale’s tone was dripping with sarcasm. Dai Yutong, being straightforward and outspoken, couldn’t stand her bootlicking attitude and immediately sneered, firing back.
“What’s so great about it? Even Yao Yi hasn’t said anything. What are you barking about over here? Do you really think you’re her dog?”
Dai Yutong certainly knew how to insult someone.
She could tear a person apart without using a single curse word.
Shen Jiale’s face flushed with anger. Clenching her wine glass, she began to mock them coldly: “It is great, after all, our Yiyi is now the star of our team. Unlike some people who are penniless and can’t secure any investments, yet still dare to talk back here? What kind of attitude is that?”
“Don’t you have any shame?”
“Securing investments is a big deal? Who says we won’t be able to get any in the future?” Dai Yutong couldn’t hold back her rising temper. Slapping the dining table, she retorted, “Are you looking down on people?”
Shen Jiale did look down on them.
Especially Sheng Xingyang. Everyone at the station knew she was a sacrifice of the Sheng family.
She was clearly a young lady, but her life wasn’t as glamorous as her sister’s.
Last year, she even ended up pregnant out of wedlock.
Where did she get the nerve to act so arrogant with them?
So she laughed scornfully: “You? You’re really daydreaming. With your Yangyang, unmarried and with a child, and also the least favored daughter of the Sheng family, what capital does she have to go find investors in the future?”
“Do you think those big shots have such peculiar tastes, wanting an older woman with a child?”
“You… can’t you say anything decent? You call her old? How old are you? Aren’t you two years older than our Yangyang? Have you no shame?” The more Shen Jiale spoke, the more outrageous she became. Dai Yutong was furious, and Sheng Xingyang’s expression darkened as well. However, she wasn’t as impulsive as Dai Yutong. Calmly looking at Shen Jiale’s face, she said, “Shen Jiale, we’re colleagues. There’s no need to act like a dog biting people.”
“You’re calling me a dog? You’re the dog! You have no skills, only know how to talk back. If you’re so capable, why don’t you go secure a million-yuan advertisement? Don’t always rely on Yao Yi’s sponsorships.” Shen Jiale sneered.
“If you’re not a dog, why are you biting us?” Dai Yutong shot back.
Not far away, Fu Siyan, who had been watching their argument, had long since darkened his handsome face. How dare anyone insult his sister like that?
Were they tired of living?
Fu Siyan narrowed his eyes and snapped his fingers toward the bodyguard beside him.
Seeing this, the bodyguard quickly walked over and bent down to ask, “Young Master Fu, what are your orders?”
Fu Siyan’s gaze was icy as he pointed at the woman standing in front of Sheng Xingyang and said, “See that woman in the blue dress? Go pour her a cup of dog urine to taste.”
Since she liked acting like a dog and biting people so much, she ought to taste what dog urine was like.
“Also, invest five million in advertisements for my sister’s team.” As he spoke, Fu Siyan took out a check from his pocket and quickly filled in the amount. “When handing this check to the TV station, remember not to reveal my information.”
The bodyguard understood, straightened up, and went to handle the matter.
Over at Shen Jiale’s side, she was holding her wine, ready to mock them, when Old Man Chen approached. The old man’s face was stern. “What are you all doing? Yao Yi’s boyfriend is here. What are you arguing about?”
“Are you trying to embarrass our TV station?”
Shen Jiale heard the director reprimanding someone and immediately played the victim, saying, “Director, those two were insulting me. This dinner gathering was all thanks to Yao Yi’s generosity, yet they actually looked down on Yao Yi treating us. I was just speaking up for her.”
Director Chen frowned. “Is that really what happened?”
Shen Jiale nodded. “Director, I would never lie. Those two have no ability to secure investments, yet they have the nerve to mock Yao Yi. Why don’t we just deduct their bonuses for this month?”
Director Chen turned his stern gaze toward Sheng Xingyang and Dai Yutong, ready to scold them. “You two, really…”
Suddenly, a cameraman from the station rushed over excitedly. “D-Director… good news…”
“What good news? Why are you so flustered?” Director Chen glanced back at the overly enthusiastic young camerager, Xiao Zhao.
“Someone named F just invested five million in advertising for our team.” When Xiao Zhao mentioned the five million, he nearly stumbled over his words.
This was the largest advertising investment their team had ever received.
Even more generous than Yao Yi’s boyfriend.
They just didn’t know who this mysterious person was.
“Really?” Director Chen was taken aback but quickly grew excited. Five million was their team’s annual target.
Did this mean they had already exceeded it ahead of schedule?
Who was this generous benefactor?
Xiao Zhao nodded. “Of course it’s true. Finance has already received the check. Oh, and with such a large investment this time… we should thank Sister Yang.” As he spoke, Xiao Zhao looked toward Sheng Xingyang.
Sheng Xingyang frowned. Thank her??
She didn’t even have fifty thousand—how could she possibly invest five million in advertising sponsorship for the station on purpose?
“Xiao Zhao, are you sure you didn’t make a mistake?” Sheng Xingyang stood up and asked.
Xiao Zhao replied, “No mistake, Sister Yang. The investor specifically requested that the investment be directed to you.”
Sheng Xingyang frowned, puzzled. Who was this person?
Why would they invest so much money in advertising for her?
“Ah? So it’s Yangyang’s investor? Oh my… you’ve been keeping this a secret, haven’t you?” Director Chen quickly snapped back to reality and began flattering Sheng Xingyang.
As expected, Old Man Chen was a fence-sitter.
Whoever invested more money would get his favor.
Meanwhile, Dai Yutong curled her lips into a smile and immediately stood up, pointing at Shen Jiale, whose face had turned sour, and mocked, “Shen Jiale, who was it that just had the nerve to say we couldn’t secure investments?”
“Doesn’t that slap you in the face? Does it hurt now?” Dai Yutong laughed at her freely.
Shen Jiale’s expression turned ugly, but she didn’t dare say anything more.
They really did have a benefactor.
In contrast, she had nothing.
“Miss Shen, this is a drink prepared for you by the restaurant.” Just as Shen Jiale was feeling awkward and embarrassed, a waiter approached with a steaming bowl of dog urine.
Shen Jiale happened to want something to drink to ease her discomfort, and her champagne glass was already empty.
When the waiter brought the drink, she didn’t think much of it and immediately took it, gulping it down in one go.
Only after finishing did she realize her mouth was filled with a foul, fishy, and bitter taste.
She immediately covered her mouth and began retching. “What… what did you give me to drink?”
The waiter, following the Bodyguard’s instructions, cautiously replied, “Dog urine.”
After saying this, he quickly walked away.
Upon hearing this, Shen Jiale’s face instantly turned pale. Now, she didn’t care about the occasion anymore. In front of so many colleagues from the team, including Yao Yi’s wealthy boyfriend, she began digging at her throat.
Digging and vomiting at the same time, looking utterly pathetic.
Dai Yutong saw this and was overjoyed. What was going on today?
Had her dear Xingyang run into some good luck?
First, someone sent a five-million-yuan advertisement, and now someone was secretly teaching that bootlicker Shen Jiale a lesson.
It was just too satisfying.
Dai Yutong stood nearby, grinning for a while, then pulled Sheng Xingyang aside and said happily, “Xingyang… today, someone really stepped up to put that bootlicker in his place for you.”
Sheng Xingyang watched Shen Jiale vomiting. Although she felt a bit satisfied, what puzzled her more was… she found it strange. Her social circle was small, and she hardly knew any wealthy friends.
Who could be so generous in helping her?
“I’m a bit curious about who’s helping me?”
Dai Yutong didn’t care about this mysterious person. “Oh, don’t overthink it. It’s great to have someone helping out.”
“Maybe it’s a secret admirer of yours.”
Sheng Xingyang rubbed her brow. “Impossible, right? I’m married now.”
“You just got married, and it hasn’t been announced. Who else would know you’re married?” Dai Yutong whispered, “Don’t think too much about it. Today was just too satisfying. Someone helped us teach that Shen Jiale a hard lesson. Later, I’m going to eat two extra bowls of rice at this restaurant.”
Sheng Xingyang thought for a moment and realized… she really didn’t know who it was. Overthinking it was pointless anyway.
Fu Siyan, who had just finished helping Sheng Xingyang deal with the scumbag, sat in his seat, contentedly watching his wife finally smile. Only then did he feel at ease.
