2 – I want to ask… After marriage, will we sleep in separate beds or separate rooms?
“You… hello.” Sheng Xingyang looked at him with a hint of disbelief, instinctively stumbling over her words.
She had thought her blind date would be some short, ugly, and unattractive guy?
But unexpectedly… he turned out to be hundreds of times better-looking than she had imagined.
The man before her was very young, exuding an overwhelming youthful energy and a dazzling charm that made one’s heart flutter.
He wore a simple white T-shirt and a minimalist pair of blue jeans, with chestnut-colored Korean-style airy wavy short hair and a small, dark purple diamond stud in his right ear.
His features were exquisite. With a tall, straight nose bridge, his deep brown peach blossom eyes lazily sized her up, his handsome appearance almost too unreal?
How could this be?
Was Lin Meisu really this kind? How could she possibly introduce such a good-looking man to her?
Sheng Xingyang felt a bit suspicious and instinctively asked, “Are you really the blind date Lin Meisu introduced?”
Fu Siyan, of course, was not.
He knew she was going on a blind date to get married today, so he had intercepted the short, ugly, and unattractive man arranged by that wicked woman halfway and sent him away, taking his place instead.
“Yes, hello, sister.” Fu Siyan habitually called out.
Sheng Xingyang was taken aback, her ears tinged with a faint blush at his sudden address of “sister.” Clutching the exquisitely beautiful little girl in her arms, she pursed her lips and said, “Please, have a seat. By the way, you called me sister? How old are you?”
Fu Siyan calmly sat down across from her, first glancing at her, then instinctively looking at the baby in her arms.
The baby was also looking at him.
Her large, deep brown eyes, identical to his, blinked as she stared intently at his face.
Sheng Wanyu couldn’t speak much yet, so she could only gaze at Fu Siyan with curiosity and affection.
“Twenty-two. My name is Fu Siyan.” Fu Siyan blinked his beautiful peach blossom eyes and said, “I’m a pastry chef. Oh, and I own a dessert shop.”
Sheng Xingyang nodded, instinctively feeling that his conditions seemed quite good?
“My name is Sheng Xingyang. I’m twenty-five, a host for news and pet-related programs at the TV station… and… I have a child, Sheng Wanyu. Her biological father is unknown. If you don’t mind, I can support you after marriage.”
“I know how my stepmother convinced you to come on this blind date. If you’re unwilling, I won’t force you.”
“I need to register my baby’s household registration now.” Sheng Xingyang didn’t want to deceive him and gently bit her lip before adding, “Lastly… if you marry me, we might only be temporary spouses…”
Fu Siyan knew she must have difficulties to be seeking marriage through a blind date, but… the child’s biological father is unknown?
Whose could it be? An ex-boyfriend’s?
He remembered she had an arranged marriage partner?
But that arranged marriage partner had been taken by her stepsister now?
Looking further back, he had investigated her.
She hadn’t been with any other men?
Fu Siyan actually didn’t mind such things. After all, he only wanted her now and in the future, and he was willing to be the child’s father.
Even if the child wasn’t his, as long as she was happy, he would raise her as his own precious treasure.
“Sister, I don’t mind.” Fu Siyan gazed at Sheng Xingyang with longing. “I’m willing to marry you.”
Sheng Xingyang felt a slight pang of surprise. Did he have some difficulties of his own?
How could he agree so readily?
Especially when he was so good-looking and young?
“You… really mean it? Not because my stepmother forced you?”
Fu Siyan’s lips curved into a gentle smile. “No, I’m willing because I want to get married.”
Sheng Xingyang frowned slightly and didn’t say anything more.
She didn’t believe that a man as young and handsome as him would genuinely be willing to marry her.
Whatever his motives might be.
Sheng Xingyang didn’t want to delve deeper. For now, she just needed to get the marriage certificate. Once she was more settled, they could divorce.
“Alright then, I won’t ask further. If it’s convenient for you, let’s go get the certificate today. After marriage, we’ll live at my place—I have an apartment.” Sheng Xingyang withdrew her scrutinizing gaze and spoke in a businesslike tone. “I’ll cover the household expenses after marriage.”
Fu Siyan was not the type to live off a woman. “Sister, I have a dessert shop. My income is enough to support myself and you all. Most importantly, I don’t rely on others for a living.”
Sheng Xingyang’s face flushed slightly, and she pursed her lips. “I don’t have any intention of supporting you… Since you don’t need my money, do as you please.”
Fu Siyan nodded, his peach blossom eyes still fixed intently on her, so unabashed that it made Sheng Xingyang feel a bit awkward. She bit her lip lightly and continued, “After marriage… I might not be able to fulfill marital duties with you right away.”
Fu Siyan understood. He wasn’t in a hurry.
“It’s fine. I’m not a beast. Sister can come to me whenever you need.” Fu Siyan said with a gentle yet straightforward smile.
Sheng Xingyang’s face grew even redder. Are young men nowadays all this direct?
“Sister, have we settled everything now?” Fu Siyan asked.
Sheng Xingyang nodded. “Yes, pretty much. Do you have any requests?”
Fu Siyan licked his lips, a hint of indulgence flickering at the corners of his eyes. “I don’t have any requests, but there’s one question…”
“Can I ask you, Sister?”
Sheng Xingyang thought he might ask about the baby and spoke first. “Do you want to ask about the baby?”
“The father is unknown. I hope you don’t ask about anything else.”
Huh?
Fu Siyan hadn’t intended to ask about that. He didn’t mind.
But wasn’t this baby from her ex-boyfriend?
Fu Siyan frowned slightly, somewhat puzzled, but it didn’t matter. He could look into it after they got married.
“No, I wanted to ask… after marriage, will we sleep in separate beds or separate rooms?”
Sheng Xingyang: “…”
“Separate rooms… I can’t bring myself to sleep with a stranger right away.”
Actually, she didn’t mind sharing a bed after marriage.
But she didn’t want it to happen so quickly.
Fu Siyan nodded. “Alright.”
“Sister, let’s go get the certificate now. The Civil Affairs Bureau closes in three hours.” Fu Siyan took out a household register from his pocket and waved it in front of Sheng Xingyang. “I’ve already brought mine.”
Sheng Xingyang hadn’t expected him to be even more eager than her to get married and obtain the certificate. Subconsciously, she grew a bit more wary of him.
This man was too good-looking and too eager to agree to marriage.
She would need to be more cautious around him in the future.
“I brought mine too. Let’s go.” Sheng Xingyang stood up, holding Sheng Wanyu in her arms, and picked up her bag, ready to follow him to the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Fu Siyan stood up. He was tall, with a height of nearly 190 cm, while Sheng Xingyang was only around 168 cm.
Standing beside him, she looked almost like a little sister.
And despite his youthful appearance, his presence was quite commanding.
Sheng Xingyang glanced at him and instinctively took a deep breath.
Holding the pink-dressed Sheng Wanyu tightly in her arms, she prepared to leave.
Fu Siyan suddenly reached out and gently tugged her arm. His fingers were warm, and as they brushed against her exposed skin, a tingling electric current seemed to zip across Sheng Xingyang’s arm.
It left her skin feeling flushed and warm.
She instinctively pulled away slightly and asked, “What is it?”
“Let me hold her.” Fu Siyan bent down slightly, reaching toward Sheng Wanyu in her arms. “Baby, let me hold you, okay?”
Sheng Wanyu had a natural, almost instinctive fondness for him, likely due to their blood relation, and showed no fear at all.
She even stretched out her little arms toward him, asking to be held.
Her tiny mouth, still clutching a pacifier, made soft, cooing sounds.
Her little feet gently kicked against Sheng Xingyang’s abdomen, leaving Sheng Xingyang completely helpless. She had no choice but to let him take the baby. “You… know how to hold a child?”
Fu Siyan cradled the adorable, milk-scented pink bundle that was Sheng Wanyu and smiled slightly at the corners of his mouth. “Yes, I’ve helped my aunt take care of children before.”
This was true.
Sheng Xingyang didn’t doubt him and followed him as they walked out.
It was strange, though. Her Xiao Yu’er was actually quite picky—she didn’t let just anyone hold her, let alone actively ask to be held.
Could this be what they called “opposites attract”?
Because Fu Siyan was fairly good-looking?
Did her baby like him too?
Still, if he could get along well with the baby, it would make things easier for her.
She wouldn’t have to worry about him mistreating the baby in the future.
