Bwahahahaha!”

The lair shook as if it were about to collapse.

The highly curious Gold Dragon Katrisian enjoyed his amusements while roaming all over the Brachion Continent.

However, that alone could not satisfy his burning curiosity.

There was always something missing, even if just by a hair’s breadth.

Then, from an ancient text he happened to read, he learned that another continent existed in a different dimension from the Brachion Continent.

He was overjoyed.

A world beyond dimensions would surely be able to soothe his emptiness.

And there wouldn’t be anyone there to nag him, either.

However, to go to another world, he had to go beyond simple spatial teleportation and open a Dimensional Gate as well.

The problem was that he did not yet have the skill to open a Dimensional Gate.

Katrisian holed himself up in his lair for four hundred years, researching repeatedly.

Having caused so much trouble since his hatchling days that he was branded as a troublemaker by his kin, he had no interest in things like the side effects of opening a Dimensional Gate.

And finally, when he reached four thousand years of age… he completed the magic circle capable of opening a Dimensional Gate.

Ten days later, five dots flew toward Katrisian’s lair from afar.

They were dragons.

White, Yellow, Red, Black, and Blue Dragons.

Katrisian greeted them with a triumphant smile in front of the massive magic circle.

Soon, the dragons, having used polymorph to take on human forms, landed before him.

“It has been a while, Lord Katrisian!”

“Lord Katrisian!

Did you call for us?”

“What is the matter…?”

“Is there something fun going on?”

“C-could it be… did you really open a Dimensional Gate…?”

At the White Dragon’s words, the other four dragons closed their mouths and stared at Katrisian’s lips with sparkling eyes.

Katrisian looked around at them, still wearing a smile.

They were dragons three thousand years younger than him.

Brats who had just barely outgrown their hatchling phase and were struggling to become adult dragons.

In particular, they were outcasts among the dragonkin because they were just as curious and caused just as much trouble as he did.

He had met them three hundred years ago, and he had received their help to create the magic circle that would open the Dimensional Gate.

Honestly, rather than receiving help, he just bossed them around.

After all, when it came to fresh ideas, the younger ones were better.

The young dragons, completely unaware of Katrisian’s inner thoughts, were incredibly delighted.

It was the task of opening a Dimensional Gate, something said to be possible only for a god.

If they succeeded, they too would be able to leave their names in dragon history.

“Ten days ago…”

Katrisian finally opened his mouth.

“I have finally completed the magic circle to open the Dimensional Gate.”

Waaaaaah!

The five dragons let out cheers of joy.

“As expected of Lord Katrisian!”

“The next Dragon Lord will definitely be Lord Katrisian!”

“Congratulations!”

The five half-baked dragons did not hold back their flattery.

Then, Katrisian spoke with a peculiar expression.

“I feel too sorry for all the hard work you’ve put in to go on this dimensional journey without you.

So, if you wish to come along, I am thinking of allowing it, but…”

The five dragons fell silent in an instant.

“Well, it doesn’t matter if you say you won’t go.

I only said it because I felt bad taking such a fun trip by myself.

In truth, I don’t really want to take you guys since I don’t know much about what lies beyond dimensions either.

It’s too dangerous.”

By nature, humans tend to do things even more when told not to.

Dragons were not much different from humans in that regard.

It was in the nature of adventure-loving dragons to want to go even more when told a place was dangerous.

Let alone these curious, troublemaking brats…

“I will… follow you.”

First, the Gold Dragon, the same species as Katrisian, spoke with the utmost politeness.

Not to be outdone, the White Dragon hastily added his words.

“I will go too!

With Lord Katrisian, where could I not go!”

“Me too!”

“I too…!”

“We will serve the great Lord Katrisian!”

And so, the five half-baked dragons decided to follow Katrisian on an adventure beyond dimensions.

Katrisian felt even better, as if he had just gained five servants to handle his bothersome chores.

“Good!

Then everyone, step inside this magic circle.

Let us embark on a wonderful journey together!”
