“Ren, water!”
At Eliza’s words, an ordinary-looking woman standing behind her quickly splashed cold water onto her exhausted body.
They were members of the Orc Extermination Squad, deployed to subjugate the horde of orcs that had invaded all the way to the Dagall Region.
Initially, their group consisted of a hundred people.
Due to the orcs’ attacks, which were more numerous and organized than expected, the majority died, and the survivors were scattered, leaving only about a dozen.
But now, it was only them.
Unluckily, they had clashed head-on with the orc tribe in front of them, and everyone else had died a heroic death.
The reason only these four survived in the midst of that was due to the characteristics of each member.
Eliza, a woman and the leader of their party, was a mercenary, and Bash was an aspiring knight with excellent swordsmanship.
Gipel was an apprentice mage, and Ren was a low-tier elementalist.
Eliza and Bash stood at the front to face the orcs, while Gipel supported them from behind.
Ren, a water-attribute elementalist, helped the other three avoid getting exhausted.
A single orc wasn’t a big threat.
The problem was that they attacked in groups.
Due to their Pig Sea Tactic of endlessly swarming in no matter how many were killed, even an average knight would eventually get exhausted and become their prey.
They had somehow held out until now, but there was no longer any hope in sight.
‘Heuk!’
A gasp burst from Salk’s mouth as he was thrown into the real world, as if flung out after passing through the Dimensional Tunnel.
Getting out of the Dimensional Tunnel was fine, but he was high up in the air.
The trees visible far below were smaller than matchsticks.
“U-u-uh.”
His surprise was brief; at the rapid speed of his fall, Salk flailed his arms wildly.
But it was a futile effort.
His speed didn’t decrease in the slightest, and the ground rapidly approached.
The fear of death gripped Salk.
If he fell like this, it was obvious his bones would shatter to pieces and he would die.
Just then, an object caught his eye.
It was the perfect thing to cushion the impact.
When his frightened subordinates couldn’t easily initiate an attack, Boris, the leader of the orc horde who had been sitting back until then, raised his massive body.
“Kiiik, attack all at once.”
Boris had a physique so large it could rival an ogre’s.
Of course, it was fat, not muscle.
At the command of their leader, who had the nickname “Rolling Lump of Fat”, the remaining orc horde approached the four people.
Despair surfaced on the faces of Eliza and the others.
“Uwaaaaaah!”
At that moment, a scream suddenly erupted from the air.
The heads of the humans and orcs, who had been glaring at each other in a standoff, lifted automatically.
Something blurry and white was falling toward them.
“Huh?
What’s that…?”
Splat.
“Guh!”
The unidentified object slammed right into the face of Boris, who happened to be tilting his head up.
