010: I Told You to Change, So Change—Don’t Ask So Many Whys
The car drove along the streets for a long time.
Wen Yan gazed out the window as the scenery shifted from ordinary residential buildings to downtown high-rises, then to quiet, secluded tree-lined paths, winding ever forward.
With a screech, the car finally came to a stop.
“We’re here.”
Wen Yan opened the door and got out. After paying the fare, she spotted a black car parked under a large tree not far away. The door slid open, and Pei Jinye’s gaze swept over her from head to toe before he frowned slightly and crooked his finger at her.
“Get in!”
Wen Yan gritted her teeth and climbed into the car. She’d barely gotten one leg in when the man leaned out, grabbed her slender arm in a firm grip, and yanked her inside, pulling her down to sit beside him.
His gaze settled on her—shirt, jeans, sneakers.
He clicked his tongue. “Didn’t I tell you to dress up nice? Why are you wearing this frumpy stuff again?”
Wen Yan shot him a fierce glare. “Pei Jinye, my family has no money right now. We’re drowning in debt, and my dad’s medical bills still aren’t paid off—all thanks to you. Where am I supposed to get money for new clothes?”
Pei Jinye rubbed his brow, had the driver in the front seat lower the partition, then casually tossed a gift bag at her. “Change into this.”
Wen Yan opened the bag and looked inside, her pupils instantly contracting.
Inside was a little black dress and a pair of black stiletto heels. The dress was form-fitting, but the hem was extremely short, and the fabric was somewhat sheer.
“Pei Jinye, what do you want me to wear this for?”
Pei Jinye frowned in displeasure. “I told you to change, so change. Don’t ask so many whys.”
Wen Yan had no choice but to take the bag and get out to find a secluded spot to change.
However, the moment she pulled the door open, Pei Jinye leaned over and slammed it shut, then had the driver lock it before saying to Wen Yan, “Change right here. I’ll watch you.”
Wen Yan was so startled she wrapped her arms around her chest and backed away. “Pei Jinye, don’t be so shameless. Do you want to see me exposed or what?”
“Exposed?” Pei Jinye narrowed his eyes with a malicious smile. “That day I pinned you in the men’s restroom, weren’t you almost stripped bare by me? You weren’t scared then, but now you suddenly know fear? Your life or your dignity—Wen Yan, you should know which one matters more.”
Wen Yan’s face flushed instantly. She suddenly recalled how he’d bullied her viciously that time, then told his lackeys to leave and dragged her into the men’s restroom, where her thin clothes were torn to shreds by his rough pulling…
Every detail she recalled now was humiliation, a trampling of her dignity.
Wen Yan truly wanted to stab the man beside her to death, but she couldn’t. She still had her father and her brother. She had to endure and stay alive—only by living could anything else be possible.
Wen Yan began to undress, peeling off her jacket and shirt. Her figure was slender and well-proportioned—lean where it should be, full where it should be—impossible to look away from.
Pei Jinye’s gaze stayed fixed on her, shifting from calm at first to gradually dark and burning.
His thoughts drifted back to that night—how she’d hugged him from behind under the streetlamp, those two soft mounds pressed against his back, making him want to squeeze them hard.
And now, those same mounds were covered by only a thin layer of fabric. He truly wanted to tear it off and see what was underneath.
The man’s Adam’s apple bobbed again and again. Unconsciously, he slowly reached out a hand—but Wen Yan quickly pulled the dress over her head and put it on. His hand froze mid-air.
Wen Yan turned and saw him like that, so she wrapped her arms around herself again in fright. “What are you reaching out for?”
“Not taking this off?” He pointed at the thin strap on her shoulder. “Doesn’t it look ugly worn like this?”
“None of your business.”
Wen Yan reached behind her back, unclasped her bra through the cutout, and pulled it out, placing it back in the gift bag with her clothes.
The man’s gaze still clung to her, his voice turning hoarse. “Not bad figure, you little slut.”
Wen Yan’s scalp prickled at the words. She looked down and realized she was almost completely exposed—
The dress’s design was extremely daring: a deep V-neck in the front, and a large cutout in the back that extended all the way down past the waist. In her seated position, it was nearly revealing her entire backside.
Wen Yan gnashed her teeth and cursed:
“Pei Jinye, you went through all this trouble to call me here—what exactly do you want?! Is it just to humiliate me with your words?”
“Of course I want you to provide me with certain services.”
“What?”
“You’re my whore now. Isn’t it only natural for you to serve me?”
He’d actually wanted her to spend his birthday with him, but somehow, words that sounded so childish just wouldn’t come out of his mouth.
Pei Jinye grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the car.
The evening wind blew against her body, and Wen Yan couldn’t help but shiver. The man pulled off his jacket and draped it over her, then gripped her shoulders and dragged her toward the mountain villa.
The man walked quickly, completely disregarding whether she could keep up behind him. Wen Yan had never worn high heels and was already unaccustomed to them. She stumbled several times, nearly twisting her ankle. “Slow down, slow down!”
But the man seemed not to hear her at all, dragging her all the way to the door of room 1288. Two bodyguards stood outside, quietly saying “Young Master” before opening the door to let them in.
After walking inside, Wen Yan couldn’t help but be startled. The interior was a hundred times more luxurious than the outside—gold and resplendent, exuding an air of extravagance everywhere.
Walking a bit further, they arrived at a very large room, ornate and magnificent, where a cacophony of sounds poured out:
The laughter and chatter of men and women mingled together, interspersed with the clinking of glasses. The air was thick with mixed scents—heavy alcohol, cigar smoke, and a faint hint of something sweet and metallic, all blended together.
On the wide coffee table sat a five-tier cake, yet no one dared to touch it.
Suddenly someone shouted, “Brother Ye is here!” The crowd that had been laughing and chatting immediately stood up in unison, calling out “Brother Ye, happy birthday” one after another, respectful and deferential.
Pei Jinye swept his gaze around and nodded. “We’re all brothers here. Don’t be formal—sit, everyone.”
Only then did the crowd sit back down.
After a moment, the noise gradually picked up again. A waiter came to pour drinks, but Wen Yan grabbed a small can of Want Want milk and sat in the corner of the sofa, sipping it slowly.
Pei Jinye sat down beside her, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and pulling her into his embrace.
Wen Yan felt uncomfortable and struggled slightly, only to have Pei Jinye’s large hand viciously pinch her thigh. The man gritted his teeth and said, “Don’t move. Move again and I’ll strip your clothes off.”
Wen Yan dared not move anymore, so she had no choice but to nestle obediently in his arms, watching the people around them laugh and chat.
Though they were laughing and chatting, the scene was extremely glaring and unpleasant: on the other sofa, two men and a woman were tangled together—he was locking tongues with her, while she sat on another man’s lap, letting him freely knead her waist, his hand about to slip inside.
Wen Yan watched, her face flushed red. She hastily averted her gaze, only to unexpectedly meet a pair of deep, dark eyes filled with ill intent.
Pei Jinye also noticed the man’s gaze and looked over. “A Mo, what’s wrong?”
The man called “A Mo” chuckled, pointing at the lowering-her-head Wen Yan and asking, “Brother Ye, this is…?”
“Oh.” Pei Jinye glanced at Wen Yan. “Her name is Wen Yan. She goes to the same school as me.”
“So she’s Brother Ye’s schoolmate. She’s quite pretty.” A Mo’s gaze swept over Wen Yan teasingly before returning to Pei Jinye. “Brother Ye, is she your woman?”
Pei Jinye’s expression was indifferent. He tilted his head back and took a sip of wine before finally saying, “Not exactly. Consider her my little toy in training.”
“Oh?” A Mo’s interest was piqued. “Really?”
Pei Jinye poured a glass of wine and placed it in front of Wen Yan. “Drink it.”
Wen Yan looked down at the wine in the glass, picked it up, and took a large gulp.
It was very strong liquor, burning her throat painfully, the fire spreading from her mouth all the way down to her stomach. Wen Yan tried to hold it in but still coughed, her eyes turning red.
“Good! Excellent!” A Mo laughed, clapping his hands in approval. “As expected of someone trained by Brother Ye—so obedient.”
Pei Jinye also poured himself a glass and drank it down. “If she’s not obedient, she gets beaten. How could she not be obedient?”
Hearing this, A Mo grew even more excited and raised an eyebrow. “Brother Ye, you just said she’s not your woman. So would all of us here be lucky enough to share in Brother Ye’s good fortune?”
The moment those words left his mouth, everyone present froze, all eyes turning to Pei Jinye. His expression darkened slightly, though he still forced a smile on his face—only it had become much stiffer. “I really can’t make that decision on my own. No matter what, I’d have to ask her.”
Pei Jinye’s hand on her shoulder squeezed hard. “What do you think? Stay here with me, or go sit over there with him?”
