005: If You Won’t Behave, I Have Plenty of Ways
But before she could even make a sound, Pei Jinye grabbed her wrist and yanked her out from the cabinet.
He applied brutal force, and Wen Yan crashed heavily onto the floor.
He crouched down, viciously gripping her chin, and sneered coldly: “I told you to hide well, but you couldn’t even do that. I gave you a chance, and you couldn’t even use it.”
Only then did Wen Yan realize how naive she had been. He must have planted eyes and ears throughout the mall—no matter where she hid, he would find her.
Today, he was determined to torment her no matter what.
Sure enough, the next second, Pei Jinye took a bottle of mineral water handed over by one of his lackeys behind him, twisted off the cap, and poured it over Wen Yan’s head.
Ice-cold water trickled down her cheeks, pooled briefly in the hollow of her pale collarbone, then wound its way down her skin before finally disappearing into the depths of her collar.
Wen Yan shivered and looked up, demanding sharply: “Pei Jinye, why?”
“Why what?”
“Why won’t you let me go?” Wen Yan stared into his eyes, grinding her teeth. “If you just wanted revenge, haven’t you already gotten it? My father was hit by your men and sent to the hospital—he’s still not fully conscious. My brother was forced to work odd jobs to cover the hospital bills. I walk on eggshells every single day at school. Isn’t that the result you wanted?”
Wen Yan’s eyes widened, bloodshot veins creeping into her pupils. “If you’re still not satisfied, then just kill me!”
Kill her?
He had thought about it.
But after the first time he retaliated against her, he realized she was different from the others.
Everyone he had bullied before had groveled at his feet, begging for mercy.
But she was different—she resisted, she was stubborn, and worse, she was beautiful. When those misty eyes glared at him, his heart would pound uncontrollably.
He couldn’t put a name to the feeling, but one thing he was certain of—
He couldn’t kill her. He would toy with her slowly, and in the end, tame her.
He would break her proud spirit piece by piece, turn her into his “little dog”—at his beck and call, recognizing only him as her master for eternity.
He had her pinned ruthlessly beneath his foot, but at that moment, Wen Yan suddenly mustered all her strength, ripped the dagger from his waist, and swung it toward her own neck.
Pei Jinye’s eyes turned cold. With lightning speed, he snatched the dagger from her hand and tossed it aside.
“I won’t let you die, Wen Yan. Don’t even think about it!”
With that, he said to the lackey behind him: “Bring it over.”
The lackey pulled out an exquisite velvet box from his pocket and handed it to him.
He opened it and took out a gold necklace.
The gold necklace was dazzling—even in the dimly lit storage room, its gleam was visible.
He crouched down, gripped the back of her neck, and said with a breathless excitement: “Lift your head up. I’ll put the dog collar on you.”
The chain had been custom-made for him. The links were forged from a special material—once locked on, it couldn’t be removed without special tools, no matter how much brute force was applied. Hanging from the center of the chain was a small dog tag made of pure gold, and inside the tag was a tracker.
Once he put that chain on her, she would be his little dog for the rest of her life.
Seeing the gold chain drawing closer and closer, Wen Yan struggled with every ounce of strength she had.
“Get lost! Get the hell away from me! You lunatic, you psycho!”
“Not listening?” The man raised an eyebrow with interest and said coldly: “As if you have a choice?!”
With that, the hand gripping the back of her neck suddenly tightened, and pain shot through her as her head was forced up. The man roughly shoved the chain over her head.
The chain slid across her collarbone, and he snapped the clasp shut. Then he lifted her chin. “Wen Yan, how about you call me master? Make me happy, and I’ll let you go right now.”
Wen Yan bit down hard on her lower lip, refusing to make a single sound.
Pei Jinye clicked his tongue lightly, seeming a bit disappointed. “If the little dog won’t behave, her master has plenty of ways to teach her to be good.”
As he spoke, he released his grip, straightened up, and opened bottle after bottle of mineral water, pouring them over Wen Yan’s head.
Until she was soaked through, her shirt clinging completely to the curves of her figure.
Pei Jinye’s gaze lingered on her drenched body for a moment, his Adam’s apple bobbing almost imperceptibly.
Then his eyes returned to her face. He reached out, his cold fingers pinching her small earlobe with brutal force—hard enough to twist it off.
“I told you to call me. Are you deaf?!”
Wen Yan trembled all over from the pain. Water droplets mixed with involuntary tears slid from the corners of her eyes, and her lips were nearly bitten through.
But she didn’t move an inch, those wet eyes fixed dead on Pei Jinye.
The pressure on her earlobe increased bit by bit. Gradually, something warm began to seep out.
She was bleeding.
Finally, Pei Jinye let go. He flicked the blood droplets off his hand and smiled lightly at her.
“You stubborn thing… Fine. You win.”
Hearing this, Wen Yan thought he was going to let her go, but instead, his right hand reached into her pocket and took out her phone.
Wen Yan’s pupils trembled. “What are you doing? Give me back my phone!”
“You want the phone?” He let out another light laugh, utterly malicious. “Then call me ‘Master.'”
Wen Yan bit her lower lip hard and slowly shook her head.
“Such a disobedient one.”
The moment the words fell, he raised his hand and smashed her phone.
Plastic fragments scattered across the floor, nearly cutting her face.
“Wen Yan, I don’t like disobedient little dogs.” Pei Jinye looked down at her from above, his eyes cold and merciless. “So, I’m going to make you reflect here properly until you learn how to obey.”
“Pei Jinye, you’re insane! You smashed my phone and now you want to lock me up?!” Wen Yan roared.
But Pei Jinye paid no heed to her roar. He licked his back teeth with interest and waved at her. “Good luck, my little dog.”
After leaving those words in a tone that was still fairly gentle, Pei Jinye turned and left. He slammed the storage room door shut with a bang and even pulled the circuit breaker from outside.
Wen Yan’s world instantly plunged into darkness.
She fumbled around in the dark, picking up the fragments of her phone piece by piece from the floor.
“Mm…” A whimper escaped her throat, and then tears came crashing down. She wasn’t someone who cried easily, but at this moment, she sobbed out loud.
This phone was bought for her by her brother. She had used it for so long and never wanted to replace it, always treasuring it like a precious gem. But now, it had been ruthlessly smashed to pieces by Pei Jinye.
How sad would her brother be when he found out? And how was she supposed to explain it to him? Should she say she was bullied by the school’s bully, locked up, and had her phone smashed? Her brother would definitely go after Pei Jinye if he knew. And then what? What would happen next? She didn’t dare to think about it.
But what hurt far more than the smashed phone was the hunger and dizziness slowly creeping over her.
Just when she thought she was going to die here, the door was suddenly yanked open, and a faint light shone in.
Wen Yan lifted her head, dazedly looking toward the direction of the light.
But there were too many tears in her eyes, and she couldn’t see what the person looked like at all. Her name rang out: “Wen Yan!”
The person rushed over in a few steps, carrying a clean, crisp aura.
The next second, a pair of warm arms lifted her from the ground.
Wen Yan fell into a warm embrace.
Her consciousness cleared for a moment.
Had someone come to save her?
