After several rounds of investigation, she discovered that it was the original host who had done it. She told Nan Xiao about it directly and said she intended to teach the original host a lesson.

Nan Xiao also knew the original host had gone too far, and since she wasn’t his biological sister anyway, he didn’t stop her.

After that, Yun Jiaoyue made her move.Full novel: Book Transmigration into an Apocalypse: The Irritating Supporting Villainess Is Actually the Real Powerhouse — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She didn’t kill the original host. Instead, she personally returned to her—one by one—the injuries her teammates had suffered.

The original host wasn’t an ability user. The injuries inflicted on the teammates, when transferred onto her body, tortured her until she was left with barely a breath.

Yun Jiaoyue then sent her back to the Nan family. Unexpectedly, however, a villain who admired Yun Jiaoyue interfered and threw the unconscious original host into a university district filled with zombies.

The original host woke up while being bitten by zombies. Believing it was Yun Jiaoyue’s doing, she forced herself to survive and eventually became a zombie king, leading a massive zombie horde to seek revenge.

The result, of course, was defeat.

Realizing he had caused a disaster, the villain confessed everything to Yun Jiaoyue.

Yun Jiaoyue, considering he had done it for her sake, didn’t pursue the matter further and instead took the blame for the original host’s death herself.

Because of her ruthless methods, the base’s civilians demanded she leave. Unable to do otherwise, Yun Jiaoyue led her team away.

Thus, the original host’s storyline came to a complete end.

Perhaps because she was now occupying the original host’s body, Nan Fei couldn’t help but think of the original host’s later, undisguised hatred toward Qin Ze.

Could someone really hate another person for no reason at all?

Nan Fei looked toward Qin Ze. The handsome man had a stiff expression, a golden blade forming in his palm out of thin air.

Because he was fully focused, a fine layer of sweat formed on his forehead.

Although he had been chosen by the original host’s parents as her fiancé, before the apocalypse the two of them had barely interacted, only maintaining a distant, indifferent relationship that never turned ugly.

Yet during their time at the mall, the original host’s attitude toward him had shifted from indifference to outright hatred.

Why?

Nan Fei glanced at Zhou Wenqian, whose face was swollen like a pig’s head. Was it because she had been provoked and calculated against by her and the girl in the red dress, only to be scolded by everyone?

Or was it Qin Ze’s self-righteous attitude, as if everyone owed him something?

As the young lady of a wealthy family, wronged yet criticized by her fiancé without distinction—although their relationship wasn’t close, Qin Ze still held the identity of a fiancé, making him different from everyone else.

More importantly, not only did he not believe her, he even sided with others.

Or perhaps it could be understood as: because the original host had a domineering personality, everyone subconsciously refused to believe her?

Nan Fei speculated, watching as the golden blade in Qin Ze’s hand gradually took shape. She reached out and took it.

The chocolate was taken away and distributed among the others.

Nan Fei raised an eyebrow. Didn’t he think everyone owed him something? Yet the chocolate he earned through his ability was so easily given away.

Most of them had already eaten, so they stored the chocolate and stood up one after another.

With a weapon now in hand, Nan Fei felt more confident about surviving the apocalypse and was in a good mood.

Seeing the group head toward the exit, she followed them, walking slightly to the side.

Noticing this, someone hesitated and looked toward Qin Ze.

Qin Ze ignored them completely and continued walking forward.

“Nan Fei, you should stand inside the group,” Lin Runxin finally said hesitantly.

Nan Fei had already noticed their subtle hints and shook her head. “No need. I have a knife.”

She patted the golden blade at her waist.

Lin Runxin wanted to say more but was pulled back by the girl in the red dress.

Her name was Wang Qingqing, a cannon-fodder female supporting character in the novel—someone destined to die in the mall.

“Why bother calling her? She clearly doesn’t appreciate your kindness,” she said sarcastically, hostility in her tone.

Lin Runxin opened his mouth but said nothing.

Thinking he was just being kind, Nan Fei gave him a faint smile to indicate she was fine.

However, Qin Ze in front suddenly stopped, turning back to glance at her with an unreadable expression.

What a psycho.

Nan Fei looked at the contempt practically written on his face and felt speechless.

The sign indicated their current floor was the fourth. The surrounding zombies had already been cleared, and Qin Ze led them toward the escalator.

With the apocalypse underway, water and electricity were cut off, and the escalator had stopped. Several zombies were still crawling on it.

Because of the plot, Nan Fei had some understanding of the apocalypse and wasn’t completely blind to it.

She watched as the others discussed strategies in silence, then stepped onto the escalator alone.

She could feel that this body wasn’t just trained in ordinary ways, which gave her confidence to move forward alone.

Seeing the zombies becoming agitated by the scent of blood on her, she remained calm, pulling the golden blade from her waist. Dodging a zombie’s bite, she precisely stabbed into its skull and twisted.

Only when it stopped moving did she pull the blade out, casually wiping it on the zombie’s body before moving on.

The others had already noticed her when she stepped onto the escalator. Lin Runxin wanted to warn her but, seeing no one else speak, stayed silent.

From above, they watched her movements with shock.

Was this still the same spoiled young lady who used to only know fear?

Nan Fei was completely unaware of their thoughts. To her, the zombies on the escalator were perfect training targets. After several kills, she had already located the zombies’ fatal point and no longer needed to fumble inside their skulls.

Before reaching the third floor, more zombies were attracted by the smell of flesh.

Nan Fei suddenly stopped, as if thinking about something.

“Tch, I thought she was so strong. Turns out she only dares to kill things that can’t move.”

Wang Qingqing’s mocking voice rang out.

The others looked at her strangely, none of them agreeing as she expected.

For a moment, Wang Qingqing felt extremely embarrassed.

Meanwhile—

Nan Fei looked at a zombie that had tripped on the escalator steps and finally made her move.

She quickly bent down and finished it off, then stood up again.

Before the other zombies could climb over the corpse, she swung her blade again.

The first zombie that rushed up was instantly killed. Concerned about her exposed calves, Nan Fei kicked the body away. The corpse crashed into the zombies behind it, knocking them down.

After that, she repeated the same method: kill one, kick one away, preventing corpses from piling up near her legs.

Behind her, everyone was stunned.

This… could you even do it like that?

Wang Qingqing, who had earlier mocked her, now wished she could dig a hole and bury herself.

Nan Fei didn’t care about their reactions. She was completely immersed in the fight, her arm moving mechanically yet precisely, each strike landing directly in a zombie’s skull.

Half an hour later, she suddenly stepped back two stairs, letting a zombie trip again.

Qin Ze then stepped forward, cleared the fallen zombies, and took her place, continuing the killing.

Nan Fei sat on the stairs, watching the remaining zombies still “running” toward them through the glass railing.

This tactic only worked in the early apocalypse, because early zombies, while running, moved so slowly they looked like slow-motion footage—almost ridiculous.

And Nan Fei’s method of kicking them away not only knocked down distant zombies but also kept the escalator entrance from being blocked—killing two… no, three birds with one stone.

Nan Fei watched a zombie stumble over a corpse and struggle on the ground, and silently corrected her thought.
