Qin Yuji arrived at Golden Age almost at ten o’clock.

Just after changing her clothes, she was dragged by the manager to the entrance of the VVIP room on the top floor.

Pushing the door open, she found four men playing cards inside, and the man seated at the head of the table was none other than the stone-faced Chi Jingxuan.Full novel: Boss, Your Wife Left You Again — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Upon seeing her, Chi Jingxuan’s eyes visibly relaxed, and his expression seemed to soften a little.

However, everything happened so quickly that nobody else noticed.

“Rainy, hurry up and pour a drink for Young Master Chi…”

Seeing Qin Yuji staring blankly, the manager pushed her impatiently.

The next moment, the temperature in the room seemed to drop a few degrees more; the manager looked at Chi Jingxuan, then at the other three, feeling somewhat perplexed.

Meanwhile, Chi Jingxuan, staring at the manager’s hand, wore a dark expression.

Seeing that Young Master Chi did not refuse this time, the manager knew he had guessed right.

Wiping the nonexistent cold sweat from his forehead, he said a few words, then turned and left.

Qin Yuji hesitated for a moment, then walked over to the liquor cabinet.

From leaving Qin’s House to her annoyance on the way here, everything dissipated the moment she saw him, as if her heart suddenly found peace.

Even she was unclear where that sense of tranquility stemmed from.

Maybe, it was because he had saved her?

Or perhaps, it was because he clearly had the opportunity and the means, but had not taken advantage of her?

Qin Yuji felt somewhat perplexed.

After only a few meetings, how could he have such an effect on her?

Yet in an instant, thinking about the gap between them, Qin Yuji shook her head, casting those messy thoughts out of her mind.

She poured the drink and placed it next to his hand, and as she was about to serve the other three men, Chi Jingxuan, who had been focused on his cards, looked up.

In the brief moment of his frown, another hostess adept at reading the room took over the bottle, and discreetly pushed Qin Yuji next to Chi Jingxuan.

The air conditioning was at full blast in the room, and the man emitted an even more intimidating ice-cold aura, but Qin Yuji’s palms were sweating.

“What time do you get off work?”

His abrupt question floated to her ears, leaving Qin Yuji bewildered as she looked around, unsure to whom he was speaking.

It was not until Chi Jingxuan looked up impatiently at her that Qin Yuji stuttered in response, “One… one o’clock.”

Chi Jingxuan frowned slightly at his watch—it was only ten o’clock.

Forcing herself to stand on her numb legs until nearly one o’clock, Qin Yuji was finally allowed by Chi Jingxuan to leave.

Watching her flee from the private room like she was escaping, Chi Jingxuan exhaled and threw his hand of cards onto the table.

As the other hostesses left one by one, Mo Yichen, sitting across from Chi Jingxuan, shook his head in disbelief, “Young Master Chi, what’s this about?”

“What else can it be?

He took a fancy to that girl…”

“The girl’s not bad, pretty and shapely.

If it were me, I’d be tempted too…”

Shen Li and Zhou Chenghong continued the conversation in jest.

After a glance at them, Chi Jingxuan stood up and walked behind the bar to pour himself a drink.

His tacit approval left his three childhood friends even more stunned.

After all, when had such a thing happened in so many years?

“Boss, you… you aren’t seriously considering this, are you?”

Mo Yichen stood up, his face a mask of disbelief.

He knew his brother all too well, if he was unmoved it was one thing, but if he was moved, it certainly meant it was serious.

But that woman…

Thinking about Qin Yuji’s identity as a nightclub hostess, Mo Yichen felt a pang of discomfort.

Before he could voice his concerns, the door to the private room was violently slammed open.

A hostess, who had left less than three minutes ago, rushed back in, her face a picture of utter dismay.
