“I’m actually here to help you,” Ryan said.
I was shocked to hear that.
I couldn’t believe he had come all the way here just to help me.
“Mom, I need to talk to him for a moment,” I said, turning toward her.
Mom nodded, but I could see the hope in her eyes.
I didn’t want to break that hope, but I also knew Ryan might just be here to mess with me.
I walked up to him, grabbed his wrist, and dragged him outside the room.
He looked surprised for a moment, but he didn’t resist.
He simply followed me.
“What the heck are you doing here?” I demanded.
“If you came here to mess with me, I don’t have the time or energy to deal with you right now.” My voice was cold.
“Will you relax?” I was getting angrier by the second.
“I’m not here willingly, either.
Grandma sent me.
She said you desperately need money for your father’s surgery.” The moment he mentioned his grandmother, some of my anger faded.
She was such a kind person.
She couldn’t bear to see anyone suffer.
But I couldn’t accept this.
I couldn’t take advantage of her kindness.
“I can’t accept it,” I said quietly.
“But please thank your grandmother for me.” I turned to leave.
“Fine,” Ryan said.
“If that’s your decision.” He slipped the cheque back into his pocket.
“Just don’t regret it later.” He turned as if to leave.
I stopped.
Dad…
My fists tightened.
“Wait,” I called softly.
He stopped without a hint of surprise and slowly turned toward me.
For a few seconds, neither of us spoke.
He simply looked at me, waiting for me to say something.
I lowered my eyes.
It was true.
I had no other way to arrange the money.
And technically, it wasn’t Ryan giving it to me.
It was his grandmother.
But I still couldn’t take it.
I couldn’t take advantage of her kindness.
But Dad…
He needed the surgery urgently.
Dad…
only for you.
Taking a deep breath, I finally looked at him.
“I’ll return the money as soon as I can arrange it,” I said firmly.
Ryan slowly took the cheque out of his pocket.
Just as I reached out for it, he pulled his hand back.
“Not so fast,” he said calmly.
I frowned.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“I have a condition.” “What condition?” I asked.
Ryan looked straight into my eyes.
“Marry me.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Mahekstories Thank you for reading Bound to My Bully.
