"Everyone, quickly hide!" Grace shouted loudly.
The girls from the Tribe instantly dashed into a house with a ’whoosh’.
This was good; they just needed to protect this wooden house.
The Goblin Captain raised its club and let out a strange battle cry, seemingly ordering its teammates to charge.
One thin Goblin raised its club and was the first to charge toward the people of the Eden Garden Tribe.
Emily stepped into a bow stance, raised her sinew bow, drew it back with great force, and at the same time, Jasmine activated [Heating]!
Divine Archery!
An arrow carrying 100 degrees of high temperature pierced the first Goblin’s head, leaving a splash of yellow, white, and red as it rapidly shot through.
It continued flying toward the Captain behind it.
The arrow, having penetrated the first target, had insufficient momentum left.
It flew in front of the Goblin Captain and was struck apart by the Captain’s club.
The red hair on the Goblin Captain’s head stood straight up; it was utterly enraged at this moment.
"Eeya! Eeya!" it shouted the charge call from its mouth.
Other Goblins retrieved some leather armor from the team hidden behind in the mist and draped it over themselves.
It looked like simple clothing made of cowhide, but it was tough enough to withstand some damage.
"Eeya! Eeya!!"
One Goblin picked up a club and a wooden shield and charged!
This Goblin squad actually had a full sixteen members!
Most charged toward the Eden Garden Tribe, while a small portion charged toward Jessica’s side.
Sophie was strong; although she was small, she picked up the club from a Goblin she had just killed to use as a weapon, blocking at the very front.
"Clang!"
She and a Goblin simultaneously swung their clubs, and the two clubs collided, making a crisp sound.
"This thing is actually quite useful!"
Grace reacted quickly, while Emily picked up her sinew bow and shot an arrow.
The arrow slipped under Sophie’s armpit and shot into the Goblin’s left eye.
With a ’thump,’
The Goblin’s eye exploded, splashing blood and plasma all over Sophie’s face. A foul stench made her feel sick.
Hannah, who was naturally quite strong, drew her bow and shot for the first time.
She missed.
The Goblin in front of her was about to reach them. Olivia raised her axe and swung it horizontally at the leather armor of the adjacent Goblin. The armor gained a deep gash but did not break through.
The Goblin became enraged and raised its club to smash down on the two girls.
Just at that critical moment, a trace of heat that stung the skin shot through the air; this Goblin was shot through the head by Ethan.
"Don’t be afraid, I’m here."
Ethan left only those words before quickly dodging and throwing himself back into the fight.
"Eeya! Eeya!" The Goblin group became even more frantic.
Unable to gain an advantage against the Eden Garden Tribe, some Goblins began attacking Jessica’s contingent.
Jessica’s side was in a much worse situation.
They lacked weapons, and they lacked Talent.
The few girls were completely unable to resist these Goblins. The frenzied and restless Goblins did not choose to capture them and take them back.
Instead, they ended their lives with a heavy blow to the head.
In an instant, Jessica’s contingent had suffered more than half of its casualties.
However, Jessica herself was unharmed.
She pulled out pebbles one by one from her pocket and threw them at the Goblins.
Her aim was slightly off, but when a stone hit a Goblin, it actually exploded!?
The power was considerable; one stone hitting a Goblin’s leg actually blew the limb clean off!
It was just that the Goblins were agile, and Jessica basically couldn’t hit them.
But she had a large quantity of stones, so a handful of stones came flying, resulting in a crackling series of explosions, just like fireworks.
Throwing several at once meant the power of each explosion was smaller.
It seemed the explosive power was constant.
"What is Jessica’s Talent? That’s interesting." Ethan stood in the distance, observing the situation over there. He was amazed by her beauty, and her Talent made her even more amazing.
"Ethan, shouldn’t we go save them?" Grace couldn’t bear to see her colleagues being killed.
"Yes, we should—" Before Ethan could continue speaking, he was cut off by Elena.
"Sister Grace, don’t be impulsive. Wait for Jessica to wear herself down, and when she realizes her mistake and asks for help, we will help her." Of course, Jessica didn’t respect her Aunt Emily, so how was she going to allow her so easily?
She even thought that even if she allowed it, Jessica would become Ethan’s serving maid.
Elena even thought about how Jessica was so proud of her teacher status. She was going to show her that, in the Wasteland, her teacher status was nothing more than dirt, and if she wanted to survive, she should understand her status completely.
A Goblin rushed in front of Jessica, baring its mottled fangs. Jessica picked up one unit of stone material from the ground and threw it hard into its face.
"Bang!"
The stone material exploded.
This Goblin became ’Goblin Fragments’.
Jessica scored a kill!
"You trash, come help me!"
She shouted, but not a single person came to help her. The girls around her were already sprawled on the ground in disarray.
Only Jessica remained in their contingent.
She then looked toward Grace and pleaded for her to save her.
"Grace! Please save me! I don’t want to die! Please... please save me! I was wrong! I’ll listen to you from now on! Please don’t leave me here! I don’t want to die to these monsters!" Jessica shouted desperately, tears streaming down her face as she desperately dodged the Goblins’ attacks.
Ethan was about to save her when Elena said, "We will save her, but after saving her, her loyalty belongs to us. Whatever we say, Jessica needs to do."
Jessica felt a little aggrieved, but to save her life, she agreed.
Just when Elena heard this, she signaled Emily to fire the arrows.
And Emily, without hesitation, immediately started firing arrow after arrow.
Many of the Goblins hunting Jessica died.
Jessica, seeing that chance, ran and arrived at Grace’s shelter, hiding behind them.
All the Goblins glared fiercely toward Emily’s side.
"Eeya!! Eeya!"
The leading Goblin Captain stomped its feet and charged over quickly.
An arrow shot toward it as fast as lightning.
It instinctively used its club to block.
"Bang!!"
The powerful explosion directly blew its club apart.
The Goblin Captain paused for a moment, and in that instant of stunned silence,
an arrow lodged 2 centimeters deep into its forehead.
Grace looked back; Emily was already standing and raising her bow.
Her strength was insufficient, and the Goblin Captain’s skull was quite hard; this arrow wouldn’t kill it.
But she didn’t care. She continued firing arrows, while at the same time, the others also started firing.
Even Jessica started turning Emily’s arrows into explosive arrows.
Emily shot two more arrows, hitting the Goblin Captain right between the eyes. The arrows were completely embedded in its head but did not penetrate.
The two explosions blew the Goblin Captain’s head to pieces.
The Goblin Captain perished!
The remaining Goblins panicked, leaderless, and even tried to flee.
Emily and Grace naturally gave them no chance. To ensure they remained within the effective range of Divine Archery, they chased after them and continued shooting.
In less than ten minutes, Emily killed the entire Goblin squad using the explosive arrows.
All the dead Goblins vanished on the spot, leaving only their drops behind.
The girls inside the wooden house observed the battle outside through the gaps in the door.
They saw Emily kill the Goblin Captain.
"Did we win?"
"It seems we won."
"The Chief is too strong!!"
The girls found the scene unfolding before them hard to believe. Grace’s status in their hearts was likely akin to a god.
"It’s safe now. Everyone come out, tend to the wounded, and take inventory of the spoils."
Hearing Grace’s words, all the girls pushed the door open together and swarmed out.
"Long live the Chieftain!"
"Long live the Eden Garden Tribe!"
The first thing they did was not collect supplies, but check on the three students who were injured by the explosions.
Elena approached Ethan. "Are you hurt?"
Ethan touched her hand and shook his head. "I’m fine."
"Of course he should be fine, since he was always standing behind. You should be asking me." Emily mocked Ethan while also complaining that her niece had forgotten about her. After all, today’s MVP was herself.
"Aunt, are you okay? I was so worried about you," Elena quickly changed her tone and went to look over Emily.
"Tch, I know your attention was still on Ethan. Just go and look after him." Emily said as she walked toward Grace, who was checking the injuries of the girls.
The three of them had only suffered some superficial wounds, with the more serious injuries being lacerations and bleeding.
But in this environment, if not treated promptly, they might become life-threatening.
But what could be done to treat them? First, there was no medicine; second, there was no doctor.
Perhaps this world had healing medicine; they could ask about it in the area channel after finishing the supply inventory.
After comforting the three, the remaining students collected the supplies dropped by the Goblins.
When they saw the corpses of their former classmates lying one by one on the ground, some with ferocious expressions, some bloody and mangled,
all the female students let out a chorus of retching sounds.
Ethan, accompanied by Grace, Emily, and Elena, went to the place where the Goblin squad had placed their supplies.
The haul was plentiful: one Silver Treasure Chest, a box of fruits they had never seen before, and a large ox leg. This meat was enough for 30 people for two days.
"Ethan, there’s more behind!" Grace called out to Ethan. The rear of the Goblin squad was hidden in the mist, and it seemed they had even picked up a load of things. "It looks like something is moving!"
Ethan immediately became alert and observed the sky; it hadn’t completely darkened yet.
He looked into the depths of the mist, recalling the prompt message.
[Absolutely do not enter the mist after dark!]
He immediately told Grace about this.
Grace was momentarily troubled. She wanted the Goblin supplies but feared the mist after dark.
She told him to go back to the campfire and bring a light from there.
Ethan immediately nodded and did as Grace wanted. Soon, he returned holding a piece of wood with its tip burning with fire.
The light from the flames dispelled some of the darkness. The Goblin procession wasn’t very long, and the tail end was right at the edge of the mist.
Through the flames, the outlines were now clear.
