The alluring scene of the man on top and the woman beneath was shattered by the question, “Do you want to take medicine?” The Demon Lord’s breath faltered, and his fingernail scratched the skin of the young woman’s neck.

Only a little, her neck wasn’t broken.

Liu Wuzhi winced in pain and instinctively tried to cover the wound, her hand landing right on Baili Zheque’s.

His fingers were distinct, cold, and hard, like snow-covered rocks. His pulse was faint—the Demon Lord must be injured.

While she was focused on examining him, Baili Zheque interpreted it as a ploy of playing hard to get. He seized her neck with one hand and sneered, “Do you know what happens when you defy your master?”

Defy who? That big villain?

Liu Wuzhi was still feeling his pulse, but as the thought of defiance arose, a sudden pain shot through her body.

The pain didn’t come from the small scratch on her neck but from her heart, spreading throughout her body. Every inch of her blood vessels and meridians felt as if they were being tightly wound by threads, the tension growing stronger and stronger, sending waves of agonizing cramps.

Lingzhi could cure all ailments, but the immortal herb itself was unfamiliar with this kind of pain. Liu Wuzhi groaned softly and instinctively reached for medicine. As she raised the pill, she remembered: she had already given one to Brother Yuan Lan and the big lizard, leaving only one of the three all-purpose pills.

But she had just promised it to the Demon Lord.

As an immortal cultivator, she shouldn’t go back on her word.

The spirit of Lingzhi possessed a natural healing effect, so even in pain, Liu Wuzhi wasn’t overly worried about herself. She looked at the Demon Lord and said, “I’m fine. You should take the medicine first.”

Given their current position, this statement was highly ambiguous.

Her slender fingers held the potent pill, slowly bringing it to the man’s lips. Seeing his reluctance to open his mouth, Liu Wuzhi propped herself up on one side and boldly poked the Demon Lord’s cheek with her fingertip.

Her searching gaze was identical to the one she had used earlier when caring for Yuan Lan and the two-headed demon lizard. However, due to the intense pain, tears welled up in the corners of her eyes, making her appear even more pitiable.

The Demon Lord did not trust the tears of a spy.

A spy was no different from a discarded pawn. Even if he forgot to eliminate her, Baili Xuanye would not spare her life.

As early as the first night Wuzhi stayed in his chambers, Baili Zheque had detected the presence of “Heart-Entangling Silk” within her.

This poison could only be cured by something from the dragon clan, such as Reverse Scale Powder or his blood. When it flared up, it felt as if every meridian in the body was being torn apart. Yet, even at this point, she was still acting.

The Demon Lord seized the hand that was lingering near his lips and clenched it tightly. As his fingers straightened and pressed together, the gaps between them narrowed, crushing the last pill into dust.

The powder scattered down between their intertwined hands. Liu Wuzhi was shocked: “You owe me!”

The Soul-Ferrying Bell, the Beast-Taming Token, and the potent pill—all had been taken or destroyed by him!

As anger surged, the small wound on her neck began to bleed, staining her collar. A flood of unpleasant emotions overwhelmed her, and Liu Wuzhi, fueled by rage, somehow found the strength to break free from the Demon Lord.

Their hands collided in mid-air with a crisp: “Slap!”

She would never help him heal again!

To the Demon Lord, this strike was no more than an itch, but the young woman who had attacked him collapsed.

Her emotions shattered, and she fell like a kite with its string cut. The pain of the Heart-Entangling Silk intensified, and Liu Wuzhi murmured through her tears, “There was only one pill left, and you ruined it…”

The voice trailed off pitifully, but the Demon Lord paid no heed, leaning down once more. His fingertips brushed her neck with malicious force, smearing the bloodstains onto his tongue, where they dissolved into saliva.

After that fall in the arena, he hadn’t cared about her injuries, yet this woman clung to life with the tenacity of an unkillable cockroach. By evening, she was already moving freely, as if she had undergone self-healing.

Just as she showed no fear of the Heaven-Burying Abyss’s waters and could effortlessly convert celestial power and magical power, this was an opportunity to suppress the Curse in his right eye.

But as the blood entered his body, not a trace of the power the Demon Lord sought was absorbed.

Could it be hidden within her consciousness sea?

Recalling the experience of entering her dream last time, Baili Zheque’s expression darkened abruptly.

Blue skies, white clouds, and jade palaces did not belong to the demon realm. To dream of such scenes, her past must be anything but simple.

Since no signs of Soul Seizure could be detected, he would simply perform a soul search.

The bed was a tangle of ambiguity and danger. Just before the Forbidden Art struck between her brows, the girl in agony suddenly tilted her head, revealing the deep red demonic mark on her forehead.

Demonic marks were ancient, mysterious patterns. Their shape resembled coiled dragons in seal script, their texture like cold blades congealed with blood.

But Wuzhi’s demonic mark didn’t seem naturally imprinted; it was more as if someone had deliberately placed it there.

Indeed, it was the handiwork of that half-brother of his.

The bewitching guqin music had no effect on her. If he forcibly controlled her soul, it would clash with the Heart-Entangling Silk. At best, she would go mad; at worst, Baili Xuanye would detect it and kill this spy to protect himself.

Her life hung by a thread, yet the half-unconscious girl remained oblivious, still involuntarily exuding resentment: “You owe me my medicine…”

Which was more important, medicine or her life?

Baili Zheque glanced down at the palm she had struggled free from, a mocking smile curling at the corner of his lips.

All day long, she wore a bow soaked in Reverse Scale Powder to provoke him. Failing to seduce him, she had even dared to lay hands on him.

Her methods were rather novel, at least.

The game of the mantis stalking the cicada was one the Demon Lord had no intention of ending prematurely.

The night was still, the breeze light. The crimson moonlight pierced through the inn’s window lattice, casting a maze of crisscrossing, hazy slanted light within the room. As the light and shadow swayed eerily, the moonlight transformed into an invisible blade, slicing open a bone-deep wound on her wrist out of thin air.

Thick blood dripped onto the girl’s lips but couldn’t seep past her tightly clenched teeth. Dark red droplets trailed down her neckline into her collar.

The Demon Lord had never tolerated defiance.

If he wanted her to live, she was not permitted to die.

Two fingers applied force, roughly clamping her chin, leaving blue-purple bruises on her porcelain-white skin.

In the moment she gasped in pain, the demon blood finally poured into her throat. Driven by the instinct to survive, Liu Wuzhi swallowed hazily, her fingers unconsciously winding around the silver-purple strands of hair that fell from the man’s head. Her anger and resentment faded along with the backlash from the Heart-Entangling Silk, transforming into an uncontrollable dependence.

Completely relaxed, offering no resistance, her life and death now rested entirely in his hands.

His right eye still ached.

Baili Zheque no longer held back. In this moment of controlling another’s desires and life, he snapped his own finger bones with a perverse pleasure, letting the blood flow more freely.

Since this spy was eager to act, he might as well grind her down thoroughly along the way.

He would not rest until she was cast into the dust, as lowly as mud.

The dark moon illuminated the Seven Territories and Eight Wildlands.

Last night, the Heart-Entangling Silk had flared up, and Liu Wuzhi had been in such pain that she passed out. When she opened her eyes and saw herself covered in blood, she nearly fainted again.

The small cut on her neck had long since healed. She lay stiffly on the bed, taking a long while to realize that this blood, saturated with demon energy, did not belong to Wuzhi at all.

He made the Demon Lord take the medicine himself, yet he insisted on seeking death—no wonder he coughed up blood, right?

“Ah Wu, how was last night?” The voice transmission in her mind carried excitement. “The demonic energy within you surged wildly. Did you engage in Dual Cultivation with Baili Zheque again?”

Liu Wuzhi casually replied with an “Mhm.”

She didn’t understand the antagonist’s excitement, nor did she understand what the “first time” before this “again” was all about.

Had Wuzhi already mated with the Demon Lord before? Weren’t the beauties in the harem said to be doing menial tasks all along, never having met the Demon Lord?

Hearing this, the antagonist grew even more smug. “When he summoned you to Attend the Bedchamber in the Demon Palace before, I already had a premonition. With your looks, you truly are invincible.”

So, the “first time” included that night in the bedchamber.

The concept of mating was still too advanced for the immature Little Immortal Grass. Since the antagonist believed it himself, she would just treat it as having completed her task.

So, mating with the Demon Lord, or rather, Attending the Bedchamber, really was just sleeping in his bed—how simple.

The antagonist still wanted to give her a few more instructions, but upon hearing a light knock on the door, he immediately vanished. Baili Zheque pushed the door open and entered, seeing Liu Wuzhi still covered in filth and blood, a hint of disgust flashing in his eyes.

He tossed a set of bright red robes over to her.

Liu Wuzhi picked them up and noticed the sect emblem on the hem. Curious, she asked, “Who did you borrow these from?”

“Killed a demon woman from the Joyous Path,” Baili Zheque said casually, his tone indifferent. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw her already swiftly stripping off her blood-stained clothes. The corner of his mouth twitched, and he quickly pulled a screen to shield her.

Changing clothes in public—how shameless.

From behind the screen, the girl’s sincere reminder came: “You’re sick and still killing people. Be careful you don’t die.”

Demon Lord: ?

The dress was extremely long and uniquely styled. Though it seemed to use a lot of fabric, it didn’t cover the areas it should. The neckline was low, the slits were high, and the lightweight satin flowed gracefully, revealing more than it concealed. It clearly wasn’t suitable for fighting or escaping.

Liu Wuzhi shook the little bells attached to the hem of the dress.

Well, it’s still quite cute.

This dress was originally designed for female cultivators of the Joyous Demon Path. Paired with her energetic double ponytail buns, it looked somewhat bizarre. The Demon Lord couldn’t be bothered to explain, and Liu Wuzhi didn’t realize it either. Putting on a mask to conceal her aura, they walked one after the other toward the auction venue.

Through the Teleportation Array, all the guests were instantly transported to the border of the Defiled Realm, bringing them closer to the Empty Desolation as well.

Outside the venue entrance, the two were stopped by the attendant in charge of reception: “Only one person holds the Beast Taming Token. May I ask which of you it is?”

Liu Wuzhi was about to raise her hand when the Demon Lord wrapped an arm around her waist. Baili Zheque’s demonic mark flashed briefly between his brows as he retorted, “Does a Cultivation Furnace count as a person?”

The young man, dressed in plain robes, looked every bit like an arrogant cultivator who had fallen into the wicked path. Beside him, the girl had a fiery figure, the red dress clinging tightly to her delicate skin. Her face was likely the kind that would leave one itching for more after just one glance.

The only incongruity was that pair of long ponytail buns—she was probably over-harvested and already mentally broken.

Having finished his mental deductions, the demon attendant stepped aside. “Guests, please enter.”
