With that innocent voice of astonishment behind her, Senano took out the boxed meal.
Then, with a smooth motion, she tossed it into the microwave.
“And if you press this switch here, it’ll get warm.”
“Yes! May I try pressing it…!”
“Fufu, sure.”
Starting to feel as though she were dealing with a small child, Senano smiled and nodded.
Ei stood in front of the microwave with a tense expression, then timidly pressed the place Senano had indicated with her index finger.
“Here goes.”
With that cute little voice, the button was pressed.
At that very instant, the microwave began to spew smoke as it shook violently.
“Ooh!”
“Eeh…”
The microwave trembled like a living thing that had been force-fed poison, steadily pouring out black smoke, and after one final large shudder, it became nothing more than an ordinary box that said nothing further.
Tilting her head, Ei turned back around.
“Will this make it warm?”
“It won’t.”
“Eh?”
Ei looked at Senano with betrayed eyes.
“But… you said that if I pressed here, the boxed meal would get warm, right…?”
“Yeah, but it broke before that!”
By six in the morning, Senano had already let go of everything, and in half-desperation, she said that.
The boxed meal she cautiously took out of the microwave was still freezing cold.
“Sorry, Ei. There’s nothing to eat.”
“No…”
Ei plopped down onto the floor.
Her skin was faintly flushed after the shower, and with the glimpse of her chest from the thin one-piece dress, even though she was only despairing over hunger, her figure looked remarkably alluring.
Senano hurriedly looked away, then found herself questioning that action of her own.

Ei said that while looking up at her.
If it had been some ordinary Enri Bearer, they would have completely fallen for it regardless of sex.
However, Mikama Senano was an elite.
As one of the most capable at Enri Academy, she endured it through sheer force of her extraordinary spirit and set her thoughts spinning at full speed in order to grant Ei’s wish.

It seemed she had somehow managed to preserve the dignity of an elite.

With that said, Ei started walking toward the entrance, clearly unable to hide her excitement.
Senano immediately caught on and grabbed her arm to stop her.

Ei turned back looking utterly devastated.
Seeing the tears welling up in those eyes, Senano suddenly remembered.
(That’s right, this girl was a calamity-lord-class pseudo-medium! She wasn’t just some sheltered little tomboy!)
At some point, Senano had started treating her like a troublesome sheltered girl, but the one before her was a being with a deep connection to a calamity-lord-class being that could easily destroy a country.
She could not allow Japan to be destroyed over being told to stay home.

After confirming overheating and abnormal vibration accompanied by black smoke from the unit, it has been confirmed to have fallen into a state of complete silence (no power / inoperable).
