Blocking their path.

Tom was driving.

— Blinc’s Fight.

Blinc was hitting soldiers.

One after another.

His fists were lightning.

His body moved like water.

Like fire.

Soldiers flew backward.

Hit walls.

Collapsed.

Unconscious.

Then he heard a sound.

A voice.

Calling from somewhere deep inside his skull.

“Blinc!” Pain exploded in his head.

White hot.

Blinding.

He closed his eyes.

His hands clamped over his ears.

A scream tore from his throat.

Thunder sparked from his body.

A huge wave of blue lightning erupted outward.

It washed over everything.

Soldiers were thrown back like toys.

They hit walls.

They fell.

They didn’t get up.

Blinc dropped to his knees.

Normal now.

The power was gone.

His chest heaved.

Blood dripped from his mouth.

It soaked the napkin covering his face.

Red against white.

A footstep echoed from the cabin.

The darkness inside stirred.

Dust swirled in the air.

Blinc slowly turned his head.

Pain.

Exhaustion.

His body was a ruin.

He could barely move.

From the darkness, a figure emerged.

Bruce.

In full combat mode.

His uniform was torn.

His face was bloody.

But his eyes — his eyes were cold steel.

Unbroken.

Ready.

Blinc stood up.

His legs shook.

His vision blurred.

Bruce walked toward him.

Slow.

Inevitable.

Like death.

Blinc tried to transform.

He reached for the power.

It wouldn’t come.

He was empty.

Spent.

Bruce hit his face.

A fist like iron.

Blinc’s head snapped back.

Blood flew.

Blinc staggered.

Bruce hit his chest.

Another blow.

Ribs creaked.

Bruce’s knee came up.

Connected with Blinc’s face.

The crunch of cartilage.

Blood sprayed.

Blinc fell to his knees.

His body was soaked in blood.

His own blood.

Warm.

Wet.

Endless.

Bruce grabbed him by the collar.

Lifted him.

Punched his face.

Once.

Twice.

Again.

Again.

Again.

Each blow was a thunderclap.

Each blow was death.

Blinc’s eyes fluttered.

Unconsciousness pulled at him.

Darkness.

Silence.

Peace.

Bruce stopped.

His hand reached for the napkin.

Fingers closing on the fabric.

About to reveal the face beneath.

“Blinc.” A sound flickered in Blinc’s mind.

Soft.

Distant.

A whisper from another world.

Blinc’s hand shot up.

Grabbed Bruce’s wrist.

His grip was iron.

Unbreakable.

A thunderclap fell from the sky.

It struck the ground beside Bruce.

The blast threw them both apart.

Light.

Sound.

Fury.

Blinc transformed.

His body surged with power.

Blue lightning.

Glowing eyes.

Floating hair.

He was alive again.

Back to normal now He saw guns on the floor.

He grabbed them.

Stuffed them into a bag.

He ran.

Out of the base.

Past the gates.

Into the night.

His legs moved faster than thought.

Faster than fear.

Then he jumped.

High.

So high.

He soared across the clouds.

Blue thunder glowed beneath the dark sky.

The moon watched.

Silent.

Shocked.

A boy flying through her light.

He fell down again.

Like a bunch of thunder Spark’s falling down The wind screamed past him.

He screamed too.

Afraid.

Exhilarated.

Alive.

He landed on the ground.

Hard.

The earth shook.

His body crumpled.

Spark disappear Fainted.

Outside Monovi.

Alone in the dark.

— The Highway Chase.

Tom and William were driving.

Tom was behind them.

The empty highway stretched ahead.

Two cars racing through the night.

Headlights cutting the darkness.

William glanced in the mirror.

Tom’s car was gaining.

He took the car off the road.

Dirt and gravel sprayed.

Tom followed.

Relentless.

“What are you doing?” Charlie shouted.

Fear in his voice.

“There is not only one way to get in a movie.

There is another too,” William said.

His eyes were focused.

Steady.

He was remembering something.

A trick.

A risk.

“that entrance is smaller than your penis.”Charlie shouted Eighty kilometers per hour.

The car bounced on the rough ground.

In the darkness, glowing headlights illuminated something ahead.

Blinc.

He was waking up.

Stumbling.

Small sparks of thunder flickered around him.

He hid his face.

William slammed the brakes.

The car skidded.

Dirt flew.

Tom’s car slid too.

He changed direction.

His car screeched.

Metal groaned.

Zander opened the dashboard.

His hands moved fast.

He took out a nail and a straw.

Improvised weapon.

Desperate times.

He climbed up on William’s shoulders.

The car was still moving.

“Hey, Zander!” William shouted.

Anger.

Confusion.

Fear.

Zander blew the nail through the straw.

A sharp breath.

The nail shot through the air.

A tiny missile.

It stuck in Tom’s car tire.

Deep.

Perfect.

PUNCTURE.

Tom’s car swerved.

Lost control.

Skidded to a stop.

Blinc got in the car.

His body was broken.

Bleeding.

But alive.

William drove.

The engine roared.

They disappeared into the night.

Tom got out of his car.

Blood dripped from his head.

He watched their taillights fade.

Pain.

Frustration.

They stopped on a silent road.

Got out.

Threw away the clothes.

The evidence.

The disguises.

They walked.

Four shadows in the darkness.

Four survivors.

— To be continued…
