Away from the Emberstone residence,

Prince Thane made his way back to the kingdom’s palace as he drove his car.

“This path will be rocky, Princess.

Let’s see if you will be able to conquer it with me,” he thought and placed his full attention on driving to the palace now.

After arriving at the gates, the guards, noticing it was him, directly opened the gates, and he was let in.

He drove to an empty parking spot and came down from the car.

He lit a cigarette and smoked for a while to calm himself before he made his way inside.

“Prince Thane,” he heard a feminine voice calling his name immediately he entered inside the palace.

Why didn’t he think that this stupid princess would still be up waiting for him?

If he remembered her existence earlier, he would have teleported straight to his room, but that would have roused suspicions on how he came back without anyone knowing.

“Princess Jasminda,” he called out in a cold voice, different from the tone he was using with Camilla, as he turned to face her.

Jasminda, who got goosebumps from hearing his cold voice, lifted her eyes to look at him while wondering if she had already offended him without meeting him before.

“I just wanted to receive you when you came home, nothing more,” she uttered in a timid voice that let out the fear she was feeling.

“Thank you for receiving me.

I’m quite sleepy now,” Thane said nothing more and made his way to his designated room, which was communicated to him by Axel.

Jasminda clenched her fists at how the prince dismissed her, despite his motive of coming to her kingdom to talk about marriage and get to know her.

She created a ruckus when the king didn’t come back with him, and she frowned when she heard he was going to a party she wasn’t interested in.

“He is mine already, my Prince Thane,” she called out lovingly, even though the said person had long disappeared from the scene.

She kept her temper in check as she reminded herself she had to win his heart as the werewolf princess of the Lunaria Kingdom and made her way to her room elegantly, as if she had a spectator watching her every move.

Morning came rather quickly for Camilla, and she realized that she had to get ready for her graduation party that would be taking place in the afternoon at the university.

After clearing her thoughts, she went inside the bathroom to take her bath and wear some comfortable clothing.

She scoffed at the thought about her real parents being somewhere out there.

Opening the box, she was greeted again by the letter she saw the night before, and she took it out.

Taking a deep breath to control her raging emotions, she opened the letter and found it blank.

“What the heck,” she muttered with a crease on her angelic face.

“Why leave a paper you didn’t want to write any words?” she said with a noticeable anger in her voice.

In anger, she made to keep the unfolded blank paper back in the box when her hand got pricked by the sharp edge on the box, and she hissed in anger when she noticed a few blood drops on the paper.

A golden-like light shone briefly that made her shield her eyes from the light, and when she opened them, she saw the blank paper changing and words appearing on them.

Being the first time she witnessed such a supernatural scene, a normal person would have freaked out, but Camilla just stared at the scene in awe.

While waiting for the paper to fully form its words, she remembered her pricked finger and made to stand up to apply first aid when she gasped.

“No way,” she said in surprise as she noticed that the area where she got pricked had already healed.

“Now this is getting interesting,” she said in amazement.

“Let’s see what you got later, dear treasure box,” she said with visible excitement.

“But for now, this letter will be enough to satisfy my curiosity,” she said as she grabbed the fully letter.

Upon opening of the letter, she was met with the untold truth about her life and the reality of her twenty years’ existence being a lie.

Dear Camilla,

I don’t know how much time or years have passed before you read this letter and how much you must have grown, my daughter.

But I know it won’t be more than twenty years.

I’m sorry baby, we are for being able to watch you grow, but can’t do anything to avoid your existence being exposed to the world.

Believe me when I say it hurts us to watch you have to leave us because of you being named in a prophecy that will bring doom in this world of ours.

You are not human, my dear, but something much more divine, which I can’t write. This chapter was taken from novelping.com without permission.

We were powerless, despite being the rulers, and we were bounded by the rules to give you away to be sacrificed, but we gave you away instead, and nobody knows the fact that you are still alive, dear daughter.

Camilla, with a teary-eyed face, turned the next part of the paper to continue reading.

I don’t know the situation of how anything will be when you return, Camilla, but I want you to grow stronger and practice your magic ability to the best you can.

There is a book at the bottom of the box.

Prick your finger again and drop your blood at the center of the box; the book will reveal itself.

Use it to hone your skills and training.

Go to the vampire kingdom, follow the trail of fate, and you will find your answers there.

It will be a step towards you reaching us.

We are binded by the law of nature not to reach out to you.

I don’t have much time, daughter.

Your father is fighting them off.

We will always be watching over you, my baby.

Be safe,

Love, Mom.

And immediately, Camilla fell to the ground after reading the letter dropped by her parents and clutched her knees close to herself.

Camilla, who was still thinking about the things she read and some secrets she found out about herself, snapped out of her thoughts when her mother called her attention to get out of the car.

Julia, thinking she was nervous about her graduation, assured her that everything would be fine.

“Thank you, Mother,” Camilla gave a small smile to reassure her.

“Let’s go now, Milla.

The ceremony is about to begin,” Liam reminded them.
