Wet Kisses

Xie Yun suspected he was having a very strange dream.

In this dreamscape, he found himself in a forest, beheading countless fierce beasts and overcoming untold hardships to drive out evil forces for a prince.Full novel: Childhood Sweethearts (ABO) — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Just then, Cupid, the God of Love, descended from the heavens, glowing with golden light and wearing a beaming smile.

“Brave knight in pursuit of love, congratulations! You are about to receive a grand luxury gift personally delivered by the prince~”

Xie Yun muttered a blurred complaint, “Are you really Cupid?”

How could he speak in such a down-to-earth, trendy manner?

“Of course I am.”

Cupid whooshed away, his voice echoing from afar, “Everything you desire, you shall possess!”

Xie Yun: “…”

Then, he opened his eyes groggily. What met his gaze was no longer the scenery from the boat in the forest park, but a familiar hotel suite.

There was even a fleeting illusion of time backtracking as if he had simply woken up naturally in bed, Aaron hadn’t knocked on the door, and the scene where he confessed to his brother had never happened.

This thought significantly eased his emotional anxiety and physical discomfort.

Xie Yun wasn’t fully awake. Looking around, he grabbed a glass of water that someone had placed by the bed, took two large gulps, then rolled over and closed his eyes again.

His body was still so hot.

Cupid must have put some strange medicine in the arrow he shot in the dream.

Xie Yun’s consciousness was heavy, but in the haze, he seemed to hear Xi Zhiyu’s voice, sounding as though he were on the phone.

Xie Yun dismissed it as a hallucination. He thought to himself: I’m staying in a hotel suite, how could my Omega brother be here? I’m not some Alpha pervert who would lock someone up.

With that thought, the boy’s long, handsome eyebrows, which had been furrowed, gradually relaxed, and he drifted back to sleep unknowingly.

Not long after.

Xi Zhiyu came out of the bathroom with a damp towel. The wealthy young master, who had always been pampered, bent down and took hold of Xie Yun’s arm which was hanging naturally off the edge of the bed to wipe his skin.

His movements were careful and delicate, moving from the arm to the neck and then to the cheeks. The sweat pouring off the teenager was like an unceasing spring, leaving a damp sensation to the touch.

Xi Zhiyu kept his jaw tight, his facial lines sharp. He didn’t understand how “Yun-zai” could be leaking so much “water.”

Half an hour ago.

He had brought Xie Yun back to the hotel. The Alpha youth, in the throes of his rut (heat/rut period), was delirious. Entering the elevator, he had proactively pulled out his room card, mumbling incessantly.

“Brother… go to my room…”

At that time, Xie Yun had heard the sound of Xi Zhiyu making a call. With a shred of lingering sanity, he had frowned with a serious face, saying an Alpha shouldn’t just enter an Omega’s room.

Afterward, Xi Zhiyu couldn’t care about anything else; he was only worried about Xie Yun’s body. He swiped the card to enter the room at this point, it didn’t matter whose room it was.

He could empathize. Back when Xie Yun mistakenly thought he was having an allergic reaction, Xie Yun had been tense and anxious; now, that feeling was likely magnified countless times for himself.

His own body wasn’t quite normal either. During this time, he had returned to the other room, administered an injection, and taken double the dosage of medicine to forcefully control the leakage of his pheromones.

Presently.

Xi Zhiyu was finally safe, but Xie Yun, who had been affected by the release of his pheromones, was suffering a disaster from out of the blue. He was scorching hot and restless, finding it difficult even to open his eyes to look at him.

He had already finished a simple wiping of Xie Yun’s skin. Worried about the heavy sweating, he changed to a dry towel, his face flushing as he reached his hand around the boy’s back to give it a simple wipe.

Having finished this.

Xi Zhiyu squatted by the bedside, curling his long index finger to brush the damp brown hair away from the boy’s forehead: “Yun-zai.”

“You’ve sweated too much. You need to drink more water today.”

Xi Zhiyu found a straw, paired it with the warm water in the glass, and supported Xie Yun to sit up, coaxing him to drink more.

“Mmh.”

Xie Yun, who was in a state of deep sleep, sat up. Miraculously, he understood the words. He bit the straw brought to his lips and subconsciously gulped down the water.

Seeing his obedient and docile appearance, Xi Zhiyu breathed a slight sigh of relief. Holding the water glass, the usually quiet boy became somewhat talkative.

“I’ve had someone send an S-class Alpha rut-specific suppressant to the island. It won’t arrive until tonight at the earliest.”

“I just gave Yun-zai some special medicine. It causes drowsiness, but it should hold him until tonight.”

“We’ll see later if… that is still needed.”

He remembered he had a special Alpha medicine with zero side effects. He had negotiated with Dr. Jonson once as long as there was relief after taking it, saliva relief therapy wouldn’t be necessary.

But currently, the Xie Yun before him seemed to be in great pain, scratching at his neck and leaving marks. His delicate skin couldn’t withstand such treatment.

This action gave Xi Zhiyu an ominous feeling.

Sure enough, although that special medicine he prepared could briefly alleviate the discomfort of Xie Yun entering his rut, it only lasted for less than half an hour and didn’t provide much effect.

Xi Zhiyu took a deep breath. He knew that since the special medicine hadn’t worked, saliva relief therapy was now necessary.

A “Do Not Disturb” sign was hung outside the suite, and a message had been sent to the group chat explaining that due to special reasons, they would meet the others tomorrow. It could be said that no one would show up to interrupt tonight.

Xi Zhiyu’s eyelashes fluttered. He was more or less at a loss, sitting on the edge of the bed, his gaze flickering almost imperceptibly across Xie Yun’s moist lips.

The boy’s lips were full and beautiful, gleaming like jelly under the lights.

Logically, as an Omega whose body was transitioning into an Alpha, Xi Zhiyu had taken two shots of heavy-duty sedatives; he shouldn’t be pulled by pheromones into making any out-of-line moves.

However.

He seemed to be under a spell. His body quietly leaned forward, a shadow looming over the boy. He was truly going to try to kiss him.

Thump.

Thump.

Just touching lips won’t do much good…

With every inch he drew closer, a voice repeated those words in his ear. But at the thought of using his tongue, Xi Zhiyu suddenly didn’t dare to look at Xie Yun. His mind was filled with whether his childhood friend would resist or be repulsed by him.

The boy’s body was suddenly covered by that heat as he approached. A blush crept up his cheeks, and the rhythm of his breathing fell completely out of control.

Approaching and then retreating, after repeating this several times, the half-hour duration of the special medicine had long since passed.

Xi Zhiyu hesitated to touch those lips, while in the dream, Xie Yun was being played by the appearing and disappearing Cupid over and over again.

This Cupid appeared and vanished, and the promised gift never manifested, causing Xie Yun’s expectations to fall through countless times. He couldn’t help but grab him and warn.

“Don’t go.”

The tone sounded domineering, yet carried a hint of grievance, making it clearly audible to the nearby Xi Zhiyu.

Not only that.

His wrist was tightly gripped by Xie Yun. The strength wasn’t light, but because of the physical discomfort, Xie Yun couldn’t muster much power.

Xi Zhiyu wanted to break free, which would have been a simple matter of pulling his hand away.

He didn’t do it, of course. Stricken with guilt, he let the boy do whatever he wanted, even leaning closer into his body, as if giving an intimate embrace.

“I won’t leave,” Xi Zhiyu responded to those words. “Don’t be afraid, Yun-zai.”

Xie Yun tried to open his eyes just as he heard this sentence. But given that a second ago he was still wrestling with Cupid, he felt the scene before him was still within a dream.

He was really lucky to have tricked his brother into his dream, holding his sweetheart and feeling that burning body temperature.

So hot, so hot.

In reality, it was his own body temperature transferring, causing Xi Zhiyu, who didn’t realize he had woken up, to speak to him while lightly patting his back.

“The situation is a bit special. If you hate the kissing afterward, you must tell me then, okay?”

Hmm?

Kiss what?

Xie Yun turned his face and saw his brother’s ears turned beet red. His heart jumped fiercely: “Of… of course.”

He only assumed all of this was happening in a dream—that Cupid’s gift had arrived and it wasn’t a lie.

An Alpha in their rut is like this: possessing a staggering level of possessiveness. He leaned in and kissed the earlobe: “Zhiyu-ge.”

“I like you so much…”

Xi Zhiyu’s breath hitched. He leaned back slightly, locking eyes with those amber pupils that were both clear and blurred. He didn’t know when Xie Yun had woken up.

But with the sedative effect of the special medicine over, Xie Yun was merely no longer drowsy; he wasn’t exactly “sane.”

His childhood friend, an Alpha experiencing his first rut, opened his eyes hazily before him. His face was flushed, and he was half-confused, half-awake, seemingly believing everything was a dream.

Perhaps seeing the reaction after kissing the earlobe looked like resistance.

Xie Yun himself was awkward and shy. He bounced up like a spring, hanging his head low, and asked softly: “Was that too fast?”

“I… just confessed to Brother.”

“I really shouldn’t have done that.”

The boy’s innocent eyes were watery as he pouted and grumbled: “I don’t know what’s happening either, I didn’t plan on it being so fast…”

“But, I’m so hot. I don’t know why I’m so hot.”

This look of suffering was something Xi Zhiyu couldn’t bear to see. He reached out a hand to feel the forehead and felt a temperature so scorching he almost pulled back.

He couldn’t stall any longer.

If an Alpha in heat doesn’t get relief, their body will suffer, let alone one of a special S-class grade.

Anxiety and tension burst through Xi Zhiyu’s eyes. He held his childhood friend’s face in his hands and whispered: “I’m sorry.”

“It’s my fault.”

“…Huh?”

Xie Yun couldn’t understand at all. He slowly exhaled a hot breath, forcing his burning eyelids open, his gaze falling on his brother’s lips.

Suddenly.

He leaned straight in, just like the proactive embrace on the boat. With only a short distance between them, his breath fanned out over that handsome, beautiful face: “Brother.”

“What are you saying? I… can’t understand anything…”

Xi Zhiyu’s heart was in total chaos, and he even held his breath. In that moment, he heard a phone buzzing and thought it was a hallucination caused by his nervousness.

But after listening carefully for a moment, the phone was indeed vibrating. He turned his body slightly, but before he could stand up to answer it.

Xie Yun had already hugged him forcefully, looking up, his domineering yet pitiful round eyes bursting with exclusivity: “Brother.”

“Where… are you going?”

The rut would cause an Alpha youth’s senses to be magnified countless times.

Therefore, in that moment, Xie Yun truly thought he was being abandoned. His eyes turned red, making Xi Zhiyu unable to bear picking up the phone.

Sensing Xie Yun’s anxiety, he explained:

“I’m not going anywhere. The phone rang; it might be a call from the doctor.”

Xie Yun narrowed his eyes and actually let go of his hands obediently, sitting upright in front of him: “Okay.”

“Brother answer the phone.”

“I’m… very well-behaved.”

His speech was gradually slowing down, but his actions were crisp and neat. When Xi Zhiyu hesitated to stand up, he followed immediately, like a little shadow.

Xi Zhiyu almost didn’t notice him. He walked to the charging station near the sofa, his hand being held by the dazed Xie Yun. After thinking about it, worried the boy couldn’t stand steadily, he let him lean against his back.

Then he answered the call.

“Zhiyu?”

Dr. Jonson’s responsible and punctual inquiry came from the other end. “How is the situation now?”

Just as Xi Zhiyu was about to speak, Xie Yun leaned heavily against his back, hugging him even tighter like a frightened koala.

“Not… too good.”

Xi Zhiyu was even stammering as he spoke. His other hand went around the back of Xie Yun’s head, rubbing the fluffy hair back and forth as comfort.

“The special medicine isn’t very useful. I’ll follow the original…”

A surge of pheromone aura wafted from behind him, causing Xi Zhiyu’s breath to stall and a physiological reaction to start emerging.

Furthermore, being hugged by Xie Yun made him lose his balance. With one hand propped on the table, his tall frame was also slightly trembling.

More fatally, Xie Yun turned his head, his lips rubbing against the side of his neck. Perhaps retaining a sliver of reason, he didn’t linger on the gland where pheromones had once leaked.

His subconscious told him he couldn’t just mark his brother. As an Alpha youth, he cherished and loved his Omega brother most in the world.

But.

Precisely because of his restrained behavior amidst the confusion, Xi Zhiyu couldn’t hear what the doctor said on the phone. He asked anxiously:

“May I ask what exactly is going on with my body?”

Xi Zhiyu had never been this confused or lost. He rubbed Xie Yun’s head and sighed softly. “Our pheromones have a huge impact on each other.”

“I’m not sure if we lose control, in the end, who should…”

…who should be the one to temporarily mark whom.

Even a top student like him had a massive headache. Having taken suppressants and an excessive amount of medicine that affected his body, he had no idea what to do in the face of a strange scene on the brink of losing control.

Jonson: “It shouldn’t come to that step.”

“So—”

“Proceed with the saliva treatment as soon as possible. As you’ve seen, the special medicine can’t last long.”

The doctor spoke clearly enough. While one party was still awake, they needed to alleviate the symptoms as soon as possible. It would be dangerous once both parties succumbed.

The power of pheromones was just that strong. Behind him, Xie Yun was like a hyperactive young beast, making humming, muffled noises. That restlessness had already spread in all directions.

“I know.”

Xi Zhiyu didn’t even have time to say thank you unlike his usual self. He hung up, set the phone aside, and turned around quickly.
