Jiang Siyu pushed away Fu Lin’s head as it leaned in close to hers. She was about to refuse again, but the words died on her lips when she caught sight of the group inside the elevator.

The man standing at the outermost edge of the elevator car asked politely when he noticed the two women hadn’t moved.

Fu Lin smiled apologetically and nodded. “Yes, thank you.”

With that, she quickly took Jiang Siyu’s hand and moved toward the elevator—but failed to pull her along.

“Ah Yu?”

Fu Lin turned back in confusion, only to find Jiang Siyu staring fixedly at the inside of the elevator.

Following her gaze, a flicker of admiration surfaced in Fu Lin’s eyes.

“So handsome~” Fu Lin whispered in awe. But Jiang Siyu didn’t echo her sentiment. In the next second, she calmly withdrew her gaze and stepped into the elevator.

Her cold, aloof demeanor made it seem as though she hadn’t been the one spacing out just moments ago.

Seeing this, Fu Lin quickly followed, smiling politely and waving at the people inside the elevator. “Hello~”

“Miss Fu.” The man who had asked whether they wanted to enter the elevator nodded at Fu Lin with a smile, acknowledging her.

“You know me?” Fu Lin asked. Then, without waiting for his answer, she squinted and said, “I get it—you’re a fan of mine?”

Song Qi’s mouth twitched slightly, but he refrained from embarrassing Fu Lin in front of so many people. “Miss Fu’s photos are plastered all over the streets. It’s hardly difficult to recognize you.”

Though his words were tactful, Fu Lin knew immediately that she had misunderstood. But she hadn’t brought it up because she genuinely thought he was a fan—what kind of fan would be this calm when meeting their idol?

Her real target was the man who had made Jiang Siyu lose focus.

Her gaze drifted, almost imperceptibly, toward the man standing in the center. His eyelids were half-lowered, yet a layer of coldness seemed to radiate from him, as if shutting out everything around him.

If she hadn’t been mistaken, Jiang Siyu’s distraction had been caused by seeing him.

But then… Fu Lin subtly studied Jiang Siyu again, whose expression betrayed nothing unusual.

She began to feel less certain.

And so, for the duration of the elevator’s descent, Fu Lin’s gaze kept shifting between the two, trying to find something off.

But their expressions were almost identically calm. If there was any difference… her Ah Yu’s eyes were a bit warmer.

Unlike that man, whose coldness made one’s scalp tingle.

It wasn’t until the elevator came to a stop that Fu Lin reluctantly suppressed her suspicions.

Maybe that momentary daze was just Ah Yu spacing out because she saw a handsome guy?

With that thought, Fu Lin quickly stepped out to catch up with Jiang Siyu, who had already exited the elevator.

Then she continued their earlier conversation: “Anyway, I’ve already booked the club. You’re going whether you like it or not—”

Jiang Siyu replied helplessly, “Fine, fine, fine…”

As the elevator doors slowly slid shut, their voices gradually faded away.

Silence returned to the elevator. Song Qi finally turned to look at the man behind him and resumed their earlier topic:

“President Bo, I’ll have someone look into the leak of your whereabouts.”

“Mm.” The man responded indifferently. “Once it’s confirmed, handle it cleanly.”

Song Qi nodded. The people who knew of Bo Siye’s whereabouts today were only the core members of the group.

If they were found out… Song Qi felt a headache coming on.

Some of the stubborn old-timers at the company relied on their seniority and acted entitled—they wouldn’t be easy to deal with.

But seeing Bo Siye’s cold expression, Song Qi didn’t dare say more. If those people insisted on rubbing sand into President Bo’s eyes, they couldn’t blame him for casting them all away like sand.

When they reached the underground parking garage, Song Qi opened the car door for Bo Siye while saying, “There’s one more thing I need to report to you.”

Seeing that Bo Siye had already taken out his laptop after getting into the car, Song Qi wisely didn’t drag it out and continued: “The person you’ve been searching for overseas—there’s news.”

At that, the ever-expressionless face of Bo Siye finally showed a ripple of emotion.

Seeing his gaze land on him, Song Qi quickly got into the car, pulled up the information he’d found on his phone, and handed it to Bo Siye.

“Half a month ago, she attended DY’s fiftieth anniversary gala alongside the DY president. Apparently, she’s said to be the new DY president’s muse and lover. When we first got the news, our people weren’t sure of her identity, so they did some more digging.”

Pausing briefly, Song Qi continued: “After confirming that her name and age matched the information you provided, President Bo, the people overseas immediately sent over all the materials they’d gathered.”

Song Qi then waited for Bo Siye to take his phone.

But after a moment, the man before him made no move.

“President Bo?” Song Qi looked at Bo Siye in confusion.

Bo Siye’s reaction, frankly, caught Song Qi off guard.

Two years ago, when Bo Siye returned to China to take the helm of Fanyu, the first thing he did was have people search for someone overseas.

But in those two years, no matter how hard their people searched, they couldn’t find her. It was as if she had vanished completely from the face of the earth.

In the past few times, the people abroad had even suspected that the person might have already passed away, which was why there was no news at all.

But Song Qi didn’t dare tell Bo Siye this conjecture truthfully, and simply insisted that the people abroad continue searching.

During this time, every time Bo Siye learned that the person still hadn’t been found, the desolate look in his eyes made even Song Qi, just an employee, feel a pang of sorrow.

Now the person had finally been found, but… watching Bo Siye, who was slow to take the phone, Song Qi couldn’t quite tell whether he was satisfied with this outcome.

Before he could speak again, Bo Siye withdrew his gaze:

“Tell the people abroad they don’t need to keep investigating.”

Song Qi paused for a moment. “Mr. Bo, we finally found this person after so much trouble…”

Wouldn’t giving up now mean all that effort was wasted?

Seeing the coldness in Bo Siye’s eyes, Song Qi changed tack and immediately nodded tactfully. “Alright, I’ll end the cooperation right away.”

With that, Song Qi withdrew the hand that had been offering the phone.

However, before he could even send out the message about ending the cooperation, Bo Siye’s voice rang out again:

“Send me the documents.”

What a fickle capitalist!

Song Qi kept his smile in place. “Of course, Mr. Bo.”

That evening, Jiang Siyu still didn’t go to meet Fu Lin. After returning home and sleeping through the afternoon in a daze, she found herself unable to fall asleep when bedtime came around.

Looking at the photos Fu Lin had sent, each one showing a handsome face, Jiang Siyu still couldn’t muster the slightest interest.

While she was sleeping that afternoon, she had dreamed of Mu Qingye.

What had triggered the dream of Mu Qingye was the man they had encountered in the elevator when leaving Shengjing.

The man who looked exactly like Mu Qingye.

Beneath those sharp brows, eyes tinged with a hint of crimson at the corners were alluring and captivating—a presence unique enough in Jiang Siyu’s eyes.

“Water is the glance of her eyes, mountains the knit of her brows.” That was the impression that naturally arose in Jiang Siyu’s mind the first time she laid eyes on Mu Qingye.

Having been apart for so long, Jiang Siyu had thought she only vaguely remembered the blurred outline of his features.

But today, the moment she saw that face identical to Mu Qingye’s, Jiang Siyu became acutely aware…

No matter how hard she tried to pretend she had forgotten and didn’t care, Mu Qingye’s image could still be traced with perfect clarity by the memories buried deep in her heart.
