“Luo Jin, don’t you fucking push it. Name your price, whatever it is. What kind of move is this, going after a woman?”
Liu Kun struggled to get up, but the foot pressing down on his head kept applying more force. Pain made cold sweat break out across his forehead in rapid succession.
The man reclined in the long leather sofa waved a hand.
The long-haired man who had been stepping on Liu Kun released his foot. Luo Jin walked over to him, grabbing his hair with a large hand.
“You know whose turf this is?”
The man’s expression froze, a bad feeling rising in his chest.
“On my ground, you stab one of my clients…”
He glanced back, casting a brief look at the battered bar girl lying on the floor, and tightened his grip.
“Is this how your old man taught you to make amends? Hm?”
Forced to keep his head up, Liu Kun’s eyes were bloodshot with rage.
Even if this was his turf, he’d only messed with some bar girl—how fucking important could she be?
He knew this man was just looking for an excuse to screw with him.
He refused to believe that every customer who came here treated the bar girls with polite, rule-abiding courtesy.
A whore in exchange for his fiancée—as one man to another, the other knew exactly how to strip him of his dignity.
Ten minutes later, his men dragged in a Polish beauty and tossed her to the ground without a shred of mercy.
Liu Kun’s heart ached as he looked at his delicate fiancée.
The woman had no idea what was happening. Her eyes looked helplessly around the private room, finally settling on the only person she knew—her fiancé.
Luo Jin bent down to look at her, interest flickering in his eyes. He tossed a pill onto the table, then turned his gaze back to the restrained man.
“You take it, or she does?”
The woman didn’t understand his words, her gaze blank.
Seeing her expression, Luo Jin curled his lips and leaned back.
His man, catching the cue, helpfully translated for her.
Terror instantly flooded the woman’s eyes. She scrambled to her feet, crawled over to her fiancé, and tearfully sought confirmation.
Liu Kun couldn’t even save himself at this point—how could he look after her? Pinned down, all he could do was tell her, “I’m sorry, bear with it.”
Hearing the expected answer, Luo Jin gave a mocking smile.
Such a piece of trash—selling out his own woman. Utterly useless.
A man who rarely felt pity, he walked over to the woman in a few steps and crouched down.
His large hand lifted her chin. Looking at her pitiful face, he let a wisp of white smoke drift from his lips.
After a moment, he spoke slowly.
“How about I give you the choice?”
A gentle tone, speaking words both cruel and tantalizing.
Her tear-filled eyes looked at him. After listening to the translation from the man beside her, her eyes flew wide.
That little aphrodisiac pill—whoever took it wouldn’t come out unscathed. She knew what it was.
In the compound, she’d seen Liu Kun’s men feed that pill to girls who didn’t cooperate.
How horrifying that scene had been, she still remembered it vividly.
Fear spilled from her eyes.
“One minute.”
Seeing her hesitate, Luo Jin released her chin, stepped back two paces, and leaned against the drink table, waiting for the woman’s choice.
Liu Kun’s mouth was covered, unable to make a sound. His gaze locked onto his fiancée’s every move.
The tension and fear in his eyes grew heavier and heavier.
Until he saw her hand pick up the pill from the table, hesitate, and finally turn her head to look at him.
His heart sank completely. He struggled madly to break free, but couldn’t.
…
Outside, the manager pushed open the door to the private room.
Seeing the scene inside, even a man accustomed to big spectacles couldn’t help but freeze for a moment.
The boss who had booked this private room was now kneeling on the ground, shoulders pinned down by men, eyes blazing red, his bare body covered in filth.
The man sitting in the sofa—he seemed unfamiliar, yet somehow familiar. Regardless, with his seasoned instincts, he could tell at a glance that this was someone not to be trifled with.
Luo Jin almost never came to this club. Even though he was the biggest owner of this entertainment venue, few employees had ever seen him.
The manager looked at the furious man howling on his knees, then at the man on the sofa, unsure for a moment whether he should speak.
Only when the man looked over did he finally explain.
“These… per Mr. Liu’s requirements, the girls are all beauty pageant winners… it’s just… this…”
Is there still any use for them?
He didn’t dare ask the rest.
As if he hadn’t heard anyone speak, Luo Jin gave no reaction.
He stood up, walked over to the pathetic man, and pinched the spent cigarette butt between his fingers, pressing it onto the top of his head.
The searing pain was unbearable.
Liu Kun could almost hear the sizzle of burning flesh. Just moments ago, he had played the same trick on a bar girl.
Now it was his turn. The stark reversal of fortune made the humiliation fester and double in his heart.
The extinguished cigarette butt was shoved into his mouth. The man looked at him with eyes full of mockery.
“You’re pretty fucking loyal, huh.”
Finding his fun all in the same line of work.
He straightened up and waved at the manager, signaling him to bring the girls in.
Zhao Jingwan was the last to enter. The girls ahead of her all froze in place the moment they saw the scene inside the private room.
The room was thick with the stench of decay, mingled with the murky smell of blood—one step into the private booth was enough to tell what had happened inside.
Not to mention the brutal abuse still unfolding before their eyes.
A thin, wiry man was pinned against the liquor table, his face swollen and bruised, covered in blood, one hand fixed to the tabletop.
A man in a white shirt sat with his back to the girls, leaning casually against the edge of the table.
His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, revealing sturdy forearms. The stiff shirt couldn’t hide his broad shoulders—his silhouette from behind was imposing and muscular.
Luo Jin didn’t bother looking at the girls who had walked in. He tipped his head back, took a sip of wine, and set the glass back on the table with a casual air, as if no one else were there.
His underling, knowing the drill, grabbed a bottle of liquor and smashed it hard against the table’s edge. The glass shattered, leaving only half intact.
He then handed it to the man who had just finished his cigarette.
The jagged, sharp edge of the broken bottle made Liu Kun’s heart race with dread.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
Luo Jin glanced down at the shattered bottle mouth without a moment’s hesitation. With the sharp edge, he drove it straight down onto the fingers pinned to the table.
A miserable scream tore through the booth.
The bottle’s glass was thick—though the jagged edge looked sharp, when it pierced flesh, the dull, crushing pain was far more intense than a clean cut from a knife.
Everyone in the booth couldn’t help but shudder at the sight.
Blood from the severed finger splattered onto his hand, and Luo Jin wrinkled his nose in distaste.
“Consider this a gift for your old man. Wrap it up in a gift box and send it to him.”
He casually tossed aside the blood-stained bottle and gestured for his men to package the severed finger.
Only after all that was done did he slowly turn around. A row of girls stood behind him.
His gaze swept over them lazily, pausing for a single second on the young woman whose face was hidden behind a gauze veil.
The look was casual, almost indifferent—but it sent a cold sweat down Zhao Jingwan’s back. An inexplicable fear spread through her heart.
The other selected girls clearly had stronger nerves than she did; at least they could stand still and keep their smiles intact.
She thought that if not for the veil, her deathly pale face would have been glaringly obvious.
The matter wasn’t over yet. The man in the white shirt leaned close to the injured man’s ear, his voice pitched just loud enough to reach Zhao Jingwan’s ears.
“How about you hand over your fiancée to me, and you pick one of these hens to marry instead?”
A cruel smirk curled at the corner of his mouth as he gestured vaguely at the girls nearby.
The man’s body trembled—whether from pain or from being humiliated to the breaking point, it was hard to tell.
His pathetic, spineless state was enough to turn anyone’s stomach.
Mockery lingered at the corner of Luo Jin’s eyes. He lifted his gaze inadvertently,
and caught sight of the girl standing at the door. Her face was veiled, but the shock spilling from her eyes was unmistakably clear.
Though she quickly masked it, the subtle step she took backward didn’t escape his notice. His eyes narrowed slightly.
His gaze fixed on her, sweeping over the figure mostly hidden beneath her clothing.
A smile tugged at his lips, interest flickering in his eyes.
Tsk. It seemed she could understand what he was saying…
