I woke up to the soft sound of rain tapping against the glass wall of the bedroom.

The bed was huge, warm, and empty beside me, but the sheets still held the heat of three bodies.

For the first time in my life, waking up in an empty room didn’t mean someone was waiting down the hall to punish me.

I pulled myself up against the pillows, stretching my arms over my head.

My body felt good—a little sore in a pleasant way, but light and fully rested.

I threw off the duvet, grabbed a long grey flannel shirt off the armchair by the closet, and slipped my arms through the sleeves.

It was way too big on me, falling past my thighs, smelling faintly of clean soap and Lucian’s laundry detergent.

I padded barefoot out into the wide hallway.

The penthouse was quiet except for the quiet low hum of the refrigerator in the kitchen and the distant murmur of a news broadcast coming from the main living area.

Shawn was sitting at the marble kitchen island, wearing grey sweatpants and a dark t-shirt.

He had a mug of black coffee in one hand and a digital tablet in the other.

When he heard my footsteps on the floorboards, he looked up, his dark eyes instantly softening into a genuine smile.

“Look who finally decided to join the living,” Shawn said, setting his tablet down on the counter.

“It’s almost eleven.” “Eleven?” I blinked, rubbing my eyes with the back of my hand.

“I haven’t slept past seven since I was seventeen years old.” “You had five years of sleep to catch up on,” Shawn replied smoothly.

He reached out as I walked past him, his arm wrapping around my waist to pull me into his lap.

I didn’t resist.

I sat on his thighs, resting my head against his neck as his arm held me close.

He smelled warm, like coffee and clean skin.

“How do you feel?” “Good,” I said, looking at the tablet on the counter.

“What are you working on?” “Your new board schedule,” Shawn said, tapping the screen.

“Now that the Vance shipping accounts are officially cleared, we’re setting up the trust structure for the new non-profit.” Lucian walked into the kitchen from the corner office, holding a stack of printed papers.

He was wearing jeans and a simple black long-sleeve shirt with the sleeves pushed up his forearms.

He looked relaxed, the tight line usually set between his eyebrows completely smoothed out.

He walked straight over to where I sat on Shawn’s lap, leaning down to press his mouth against mine.

It was a firm, sweet kiss that made my chest warm up.

“Good morning,” Lucian said against my lips, pulling back just enough to look into my eyes.

“Sleep well?” “Very well,” I said.

“What non-profit is Shawn talking about?” Lucian set his papers down on the marble island next to Shawn’s tablet.

“The Eleanor Vance Foundation.

We filed the initial paperwork with the state charity commission this morning.” I sat up straighter on Shawn’s lap, looking from Lucian to the printed pages on the counter.

“My mother’s foundation?” “She wanted to set up a legal defense fund for young women trapped in forced guardianships,” Lucian explained, his voice calm and steady.

“Conrad buried the paperwork when she got sick and took the seed money for himself.

Last night, Vin and I transferred thirty million dollars from Conrad’s liquidated personal accounts directly into the new foundation bank account.” Tears sprang to my eyes before I could stop them, but they weren’t sad tears.

I wiped my cheek with the oversized sleeve of the flannel shirt.

“You really did that?” “It’s your mother’s legacy,” Shawn said softly, his chin resting on my shoulder as his hands rubbed my hips through the flannel.

“And it’s yours now.

You’re the director of the board.

Nobody can touch it, nobody can steal from it, and you get to decide where every single dollar goes.” The heavy glass door leading out to the private terrace opened, and Vin stepped into the kitchen.

He was wearing dark shorts and a black tank top, his hair damp from the light drizzle outside.

He carried a heavy cardboard box under one arm, setting it down on the floor near the kitchen island.

“Morning,” Vin said, his deep voice filling the room.

He walked over, his big, calloused hand reaching out to stroke the back of my head, his fingers gently tangling in my messy hair.

“The delivery from the old estate just arrived.” I slid off Shawn’s lap and walked over to the box, dropping down onto my knees on the hardwood floor.

“What is it?” I asked.

Vin knelt beside me, his large frame blocking out the cool draft from the terrace.

He reached into the box and pulled out a heavy, dark wood picture frame.

The glass was dusty, but underneath was an old oil painting of yellow roses in a glass vase—the painting my mother had hung over the fireplace in her private bedroom before she died.

“I told the movers not to leave anything behind,” Vin said quietly, watching my face as I ran my fingers over the carved wood frame.

“Even the small stuff.” I looked at Vin, seeing the absolute care in his dark eyes.

There was no hesitation, no doubt, and no lingering anger from the past.

He had personally gone through that awful house to make sure I got back every piece of my childhood.

“Thank you, Vin,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

He didn’t make a big deal out of it.

He just nodded, his big hand coming down to squeeze my shoulder firmly before he stood up and headed into the master bedroom to change out of his damp clothes.

By mid-afternoon, the rain outside had stopped, leaving the city skyline clean and bright under a clear blue sky.

I spent two hours going through the foundation paperwork with Lucian and Shawn in the living room, setting up the grant guidelines and choosing the team of legal aid lawyers we wanted to hire.

For the first time in five years, I was using my brain for something real, something that would actually help people who were trapped in the same dark hole I had just escaped from.

Around four o’clock, Shawn went down to the building garage to meet with our security team, and Lucian took a short phone call in his office to finalize the sale of the Crestwood land.

I walked back into the master bedroom, wanting to put my mother’s oil painting up on the wall.

Vin was standing by the large bed, folding a fresh stack of white towels.

He had taken off his shirt, his muscular chest and broad shoulders bare in the bright sunlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling glass.

I walked up behind him, wrapping my arms around his waist and pressing my face flat against his warm, bare back.

I could feel the hard muscle under his skin, the steady rise and fall of his breathing.

Vin stopped what he was doing.

He laid his hands over mine where they were locked around his stomach.

“Everything okay, Lyra?” he asked, turning his head slightly.

“Everything is perfect,” I murmured, leaning against him.

“I just wanted to be close to you.” Vin turned around in my arms, pulling me up against his chest.

He reached down, hooking his fingers under my knees, and lifted me effortlessly off my feet.

I let out a small gasp as he set me down on the edge of the tall bed, stepping between my open thighs.

He looked down at me, his dark eyes intense, warm, and completely focused on my face.

He didn’t say anything fancy or complicated.

He just reached out, his big thumb gently tracing my lower lip until my mouth parted for him.

“You look so rested today,” Vin rumbled softly.

“No fear in your eyes.” “I don’t have anything to be afraid of anymore,” I told him, reaching up to run my fingers through his thick, dark hair.

“I have you.” Vin leaned down, bringing his mouth down on mine.

The kiss was slow, heavy, and deep.

His tongue moved against mine in a smooth, easy slide that made my core warm up instantly.

His large hands slid under the long flannel shirt I was wearing, his calloused palms spreading over my bare hips and pulling me flush against his hard body.

I opened my legs wider, my bare feet resting against the back of his thighs as he deepened the kiss.

I wasn’t wearing any underwear beneath the shirt, and the cool air in the room made my skin hyper-sensitive to every touch of his warm hands.

Vin pulled his mouth back just an inch, his heavy chest heaving slightly as his eyes moved over my flushed face.

He reached down, unbuttoning his shorts and pushing them down his legs until his long, thick shaft sprang free, hard and hot against my thigh.

“Is this okay?” Vin asked, his voice rough and quiet near my ear.

“Yes,” I breathed out, my hands sliding down his broad back to grip his waist.

“Please, Vin.” He didn’t wait.

He guided his thick head to my entrance, pushing inside me with one slow, firm stroke.

I gasped out loud, my head rolling back against the pillows as my body stretched open around his thick shape.

He filled me up completely, deep and warm, until his hips rested flat against my bare thighs.

The feeling was intense, direct, and completely satisfying.

He held still inside me for a long moment, letting my inner muscles adjust to his size, his big hands cupping my rear to hold me tight against him.

“You’re so wet, Lyra,” Vin grunted softly into my neck, his hot breath making me shiver nicely.

He began a slow, steady rhythm, pulling back almost to the tip before driving all the way back inside me.

Every stroke hit deep against my core, sending smooth waves of heat spreading through my belly.

It wasn’t rough or aggressive; it was heavy, solid, and deep, filling me up over and over with an easy, natural pace.

I wrapped my legs around his waist, my fingers digging into the hard muscle of his shoulders as my body met every stroke.

The long flannel shirt was bunched up around my waist, leaving my chest and stomach bare against his warm skin.

The door to the bedroom opened quietly.

Lucian walked into the room, holding his phone in one hand.

He stopped near the foot of the bed, his dark eyes taking in the sight of Vin holding me, pushing deep inside me while I moaned against Vin’s shoulder.

Lucian set his phone on the nightstand without taking his eyes off us.

A slow, dark look of pure appreciation touched his face.

He walked over to the side of the bed, unbuttoning his shirt and tossing it onto the armchair.

“Look at how good she takes you, Vin,” Lucian said softly, his voice low and smooth.

Lucian climbed onto the mattress beside us, his long fingers reaching out to gather my bare breast in his hand, rolling my hardened nipple between his thumb and finger while Vin kept up his heavy, steady beat between my legs.

A loud, breathless cry left my mouth as Lucian leaned down, capturing my lips in a deep, wet kiss, taking my moans right into his mouth.

The dual sensation of Vin driving deep inside my core while Lucian kissed me and touched my chest pushed my body toward the edge fast.

Vin’s thrusts grew faster, his heavy hips bumping against my rear with a solid, rhythmic thud that made the bed creak.

His big hand came around to hold my hip steady, his fingers digging into my flesh as he drove deep into me over and over.

“Vin,” I choked out against Lucian’s lips, my internal muscles tightening tight around Vin’s thick shaft.

“I’m coming!” “Take it, baby,” Vin rumbled into my shoulder, his pace turning hard and relentless for five final, deep strokes.

My body snapped into a hard, violent peak.

My inner walls pulsed tight around Vin’s shaft, milking him with fast, powerful spasms.

I cried out as the intense wave of pleasure washed over my whole body from head to toe.

Vin let out a low, heavy grunt, his body shaking as he buried himself as deep as he could go, flooding my warm center with his hot release.

Lucian kept kissing me through the finish, his hand gently stroking my belly until the last wave faded into a quiet, warm glow.

When Vin slowly pulled back, he didn’t move far.

He lay down on my left side, pulling my bare body against his chest, while Lucian lay on my right, wrapping his arm over my waist and pulling the soft duvet over all three of us.

Shawn walked into the bedroom a minute later, tossing his jacket onto the chair.

He looked at us lying together in the warm afternoon light, a soft, easy smile spreading across his face.

He kicked off his shoes, unbuttoned his shirt, and slid into the bed beside Lucian, resting his hand over my hip.

We lay there together in the quiet room, surrounded by clean white sheets and the soft hum of the city seventy floors below.

There were no secrets left to keep, no debts left to pay, and no dark rooms waiting for me in the dark.

My family’s name was restored, my mother’s legacy was safe, and the three men holding me would never let anything hurt me again.

I closed my eyes, resting my head against Vin’s broad chest, listening to the steady, strong beat of his heart.

I was finally home, and I was finally free.
