Harrison remained silent.

The doctor’s question continued to echo in his mind.Where is she going to stay?He stood near the hospital window, his hands buried in the pockets of his trousers, his expression unreadable.

Taking Valentina to his home was out of the question. At least, that was what he kept telling himself. He had lived alone for years long enough for the silence to become familiar, long enough for loneliness to stop feeling like loneliness.Full novel: Claimed By The Cold CEO — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

His luxury villa was his private world.

There were no maids constantly moving around, no unnecessary guests, no people asking questions.

Just him.

And he preferred it that way.

Sometimes even Harrison wondered if he was allergic to living with people.Or perhaps, in his world, sharing his personal space had simply become a taboo.Whatever the reason, everyone knew Harrison Whitmore as a loner.

He was admired by countless women.Women who would have gladly done anything to get his attention, beautiful women, wealthy women, influential women yet Harrison had never shown genuine interest in any of them. Not once.

His father, Mr.

Carter Whitmore, had complained about it countless times.

“You’re going to remain alone for the rest of your life if you continue behaving this way.”Those words had been repeated to him more times than he could count.Sometimes his father threatened to cut him off.Sometimes he threatened to arrange meetings with women from influential families.

Sometimes he simply lost his patience but none of it had changed Harrison.

For years, he had remained exactly the same.Cold, reserved, emotionally distant and completely comfortable with his solitary life until now.Harrison glanced through the glass toward Valentina.

She was still sitting on the hospital bed,she looked small and vulnerable.

Confused,She had no memory of her past.

No idea where she belonged and somehow, she had become his responsibility.

Harrison exhaled slowly. He couldn’t take her to his villa. There was no maid there,no housekeeper No one.If he left for work, she would be completely alone.

After what had happened to her, that wasn’t an option. His gaze hardened. Then a thought came to him.

His parents’ villa, the Whitmore family villa and there were people there.

Security, staff and everything Valentina would need while recovering.

Most importantly, she wouldn’t be alone.Harrison made his decision. He turned toward his assistant and bodyguard.

“Once she’s discharged, take her to the Whitmore villa.”

His assistant looked surprised.

Harrison continued.

“Make sure security is tight.”

“Yes, sir.”

His voice was firm. There was no room for argument but his assistant noticed something unusual.

Harrison’s tone had changed and his expression had become colder.

The softness that had briefly appeared whenever he looked at Valentina was completely gone.It was as though he had suddenly rebuilt every wall around himself.

Harrison turned toward the door. His footsteps were slow but deliberate.

He didn’t look back, not even once. His assistant glanced toward Valentina.

Something didn’t make sense. Why hadn’t Harrison said goodbye?, He had spent hours pacing outside her emergency room the previous night.

He had refused to leave while she fought for her life, yet now he was leaving without even telling her goodbye.the assistant frowned.

What had changed?

Perhaps Harrison felt guilty about his decision.

Perhaps he knew exactly what awaited Valentina at the Whitmore villa. His stepmother was not known for welcoming strangers into the family.

Especially not a mysterious young woman with no memory and no known background.

Maybe Harrison was worried about how she would be treated or perhaps he was simply trying to convince himself that sending Valentina away was the right thing to do.The assistant couldn’t tell.

He could only watch Harrison’s retreating figure.

The man who had spent years avoiding emotional attachments had suddenly saved a stranger’s life and now he was sending that same stranger into the very family home he had spent years trying to distance himself from.

There was clearly something Harrison wasn’t saying….something even he might not fully understand.Inside the hospital room, Valentina had no idea that her life was about to change again.

She stared at the closed door.

Harrison was gone.

For some reason, his sudden departure left an unfamiliar feeling in her chest.

She couldn’t explain it,she barely knew him.

Yet somehow, his absence bothered her.

She lowered her gaze.

“Who are you, Harrison Whitmore?”

The question escaped her lips in a whisper.

She had no memories of him,no memories of her family,no memories of her past and yet, somewhere deep inside her mind, there was a feeling that her life had been connected to something terrible and horrible.

She just didn’t know how.

And she didn’t know that the answers waiting for her inside the Whitmore villa could be far more dangerous than she could ever imagine.
