In the Mazeltov office, some of the members were spending their free time there. Some were sleeping, while others were scrolling through their phones. It was the only place where they all gathered.
Suddenly, the office door burst open.
"Hahaha! Did you see that just now, Denis? The way I finished that boss? My Blazing Lance was on point, it struck its head like a watermelon!" Oscar said excitedly.
"I think Vega should get most of the credit. He single-handedly held the aggro of that monster. You just finished it at the last moment," Denis replied.
"Huh? Why is it like that? Hey, tell me, Vega, who was the MVP just now?" Oscar asked as Vega quietly entered the office.
Vega ignored the question and went to grab a drink. Among the group, he was the man of few words. But no one could deny that his assassin skills were among the best in the region.
Right now, however, he was secretly excited.
The Phantom Magus class he had bought was bringing out his full potential. Compared to his previous Unique-rank class, Assassin Cross, its raw stats were far inferior. But what made it superior was its skill synergy. It was undeniably top-notch. Every ability flowed seamlessly into the next, creating deadly combos. And with someone like Vega using it, he could easily compensate for its lack of stats boost with his own skill and talent.
"Can you keep quiet? It’s so noisy," Benn Strong shouted. He was in a foul mood. His face flushed after a few drinks.
"Hey, what’s wrong with you? You look terrible. Ahh, I get it, it must be because you failed again to buy the War Templar class, right?" Oscar teased.
"You-!" Benn Strong suddenly stood up and threw the bottle. Oscar managed to dodge it, but the bottle flew straight toward a large vase near the door. It was a very expensive one that their leader, Zane, had bought.
"Oh no!!"
Everyone reacted at the same time. If it broke, even their lives wouldn’t be enough to pay for it.
Suddenly, a hand shot out from the doorway and caught the bottle mid-air. Everyone let out a sigh of relief, before realizing whose hand it belonged to.
"That hand... wrapped in cloth... don’t tell me..." Oscar muttered.
"Hello everyone! How are you all? Did you miss me?" A man stepped into the office. He wore martial arts attire and carried a bag on his back. Several bandages were wrapped around his face and exposed chest.
"Ryuken!"
"You’ve already been discharged? That was fast!"
Everyone quickly gathered around him.
He was one of the members of Mazeltov, serving as a frontline melee fighter. He had been heavily injured in a dungeon and hospitalized for nearly three months.
Everyone in Mazeltov was unusual in their own way, but Ryuken stood above them all. He was the only member who didn’t have a class.
"Yes. The doctors planned to keep me for a few more weeks. But since they kept seeing me training inside the ward, they decided to discharge me early."
"Haha... the patients sharing the ward with you must have reported that to the staff," Denis said.
"So, after being injured like that, you must have thought about choosing a class now," Quinn said. He was another tanker alongside Benn Strong, but unlike him, Quinn was far more gentle and kind.
"After lying in bed for months without training, I finally realized something important," Ryuken said, clenching his fist. His face was filled with determination.
Everyone’s eyes lit up with anticipation.
’Finally! This crazy guy decided to choose a class!’
’I will finally win my bet with the boss if he does. Hehehe.’
All of them thought the same thing.
"I realized... I’ve been lacking in training and need to train even more!"
Thump!
Everyone collapsed to the ground as their expectations were completely shattered.
"Ahh, this guy is so hopeless!" They all began to disperse.
"Hey, what’s with those reactions?" Ryuken asked.
"You should equip a class, Ryuken. No one in their right mind raids dungeons without one. You might be the only person in the universe who does," Oscar said.
"There’s no way I will rely on something like that. As I walk the path of strength, willpower, and resolve, I will not depend on such artificial things," Ryuken replied.
"But you end up making things harder for everyone else. And one of them is me, I always have to cover your ass in battle," Benn Strong said.
"What did you say, old man?" Ryuken leaned forward, his jaw jutting out.
"You want a fight?!" Benn Strong stepped up to face him.
"Okay, okay, everyone, sit down. We’re having an emergency meeting right now. Oh, Ryuken, you’re finally here. Good, good. Looks like our group is finally at full strength," Zane said as she entered the room with a few other members and took her seat.
"Is that all you have to say?" Ryuken muttered, slightly disappointed.
"Right now, we have an urgent mission. Top priority. Everyone need to put aside whatever you’re doing right now."
"What kind of mission is urgent enough to call everyone back, boss?" Oscar asked.
It was rare for all of them to be assigned the same task at once. Usually, their missions were split among different members.
Zane threw a file onto the table. The others looked at it and saw a single name on the folder.
Anonymous214.
"What about him, boss?"
"We’ve received intel that many companies have started making moves to recruit this individual. We can’t let that happen. This person alone has already caused chaos in the current market. If any company manages to secure him, our position in this region will be jeopardized. That’s why we’re going to find him first, and try to recruit him," Zane explained.
"Search for him? The South Region is huge, boss. And we don’t even know if he’s actually in this state. Even if we do find him, will he really join us?" Denis asked.
"Don’t worry. We’ve already taken that into account. What matters now is finding him first. Emma, go ahead," Aleph said, nodding toward her.
"Okie dokie! This is where I shine, yoohoo!" Emma, a small woman around 1.45 meters tall with oversized glasses, grinned. She was the tech specialist of the group. She turned to the PC in front of her and got to work.
Tap tap tap!
Her fingers flew across the keyboard. Then she spun her chair around and pulled the monitor forward.
"I already checked the Dungeon Hub system. Thanks to my genius mind, I managed to track the time window when this person uploads his bids. It seems he always posts around 9 to 10 a.m. And the place he frequently visits is... tadaa! District 21 Dungeon Hub!"
"Wow... amazing!"
"This is the best clue we have right now. Starting from this moment, all of you will head to District 21 Dungeon Hub and search for his whereabouts. I’m counting on all of you."
"You got it, boss!" Oscar grinned, while Benn Strong’s mood visibly lifted. At last, he would get the chance to meet the one who created the War Templar class. Without wasting time, they all moved out.
Zane turned toward the window, a confident and elegant smile forming on her lips.
"This time... you won’t be able to hide anymore."
