The more Shen Shuyue talked, the angrier she became. She almost wanted to stand up and slap those women herself.

Their audacity was unbelievable.

Yesterday, she had already made everything clear in front of everyone about the supplies she had donated. Yet today, Zhao Pandi and the others had come knocking again to ask about them.Full novel: Commander, Your Wife Has Sent Your Childhood Sweetheart Flying Again! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Weren’t the disaster-relief supplies the army had distributed a few days ago enough for them?

Every household had received a huge amount of grain, and that still wasn’t enough? Now they had their eyes on the supplies she had donated?

People really were insatiable.

No matter how much you gave them, they would never be satisfied.

“Go home. And take that little bit of stuff you brought with you. You’re not welcome here.”

Shen Shuyue really wanted to slap someone.

Aunt Zhang had been hiding behind the others. Hearing Shen Shuyue chase them out, she immediately spoke up.

“Shen Shuyue, you really don’t know how to appreciate kindness. We came here out of the goodness of our hearts to check on you, and this is how you treat us?”

Qiu Chengyue walked over from the kitchen. He glanced at the things the women had placed on the table, then looked at them.

“Take all of this back with you.”

“She doesn’t need these things.”

“Battalion Commander Qiu…” Aunt Zhang was stunned. “Does she think our things are beneath her?”

Qiu Chengyue said coldly, “You brought this little pile of junk here and expect her to give you chicken, duck, fish, and meat in return.”

“If I gave you these things and asked you to give me chicken, duck, fish, and meat, would you agree?”

Aunt Zhang: “…”

“I…”

“I just think she’s too arrogant and spoiled. Who behaves like her?”

Qiu Chengyue looked at her.

“She’s arrogant and spoiled?”

“When you have the ability to donate that much supplies to people in need, you can be as arrogant and spoiled as you want.”

Shen Shuyue: “…”

Did those words really come from Qiu Chengyue?

Aunt Zhang: “…”

Zhao Pandi: “…”

The other wives: “…”

As Qiu Chengyue’s expression grew darker and darker, the women finally took the hint and left.

Shen Shuyue stared at Qiu Chengyue, her face full of curiosity.

This man had protected her yet again?

Shen Shuyue was instantly in a much better mood.

She propped her chin on one hand and looked at Qiu Chengyue with obvious satisfaction.

“You know, you’re actually pretty good to me.”

“Have you started to fall for me a little?”

Qiu Chengyue was about to find some clothes and take a shower. He had just reached the doorway when he heard her.

He stopped.

“You’re thinking too much.”

“I wouldn’t fall for you even if I fell for anyone else.”

With that, he went into the room next door.

Less than a minute later, he came back out. He glanced at Shen Shuyue before walking into the room where she slept.

Shen Shuyue rolled her eyes.

“Oh, really? You’d fall for anyone except me?”

“If you’re never going to fall for me, then why didn’t you agree when I suggested we get divorced?”

“You keep dragging this out day after day. Who knows what you’re thinking?”

Qiu Chengyue was inside the room looking for his clothes. Shen Shuyue had no idea whether he had heard her.

After she finished speaking, he still said nothing.

A few minutes later, he came out of the room with his clothes in his hands.

When he passed Shen Shuyue, he stopped.

The look in his eyes was somewhat strange.

“Divorce?”

“You’ve had enough fun? You want a divorce now?”

Shen Shuyue: “?”

He had actually remembered what she had casually said last time?

Qiu Chengyue let out a cold laugh.

“You’ve had enough fun. I haven’t.”

Shen Shuyue: “…”

“What does that mean?”

By the time Shen Shuyue finished asking, Qiu Chengyue had already taken her clothes and headed into the bathroom.

Shen Shuyue sat on the sofa, staring at him as he disappeared into the bathroom, completely baffled.

“Explain yourself!”

“You’re not planning to drag this out for the rest of my life, are you?”

If Qiu Chengyue really intended to keep her tied to him for the rest of her life, how was she supposed to go out and find herself some handsome young men?

The outside world was so exciting. Of course she had to go see it for herself!

If she didn’t divorce Qiu Chengyue, how was she supposed to go out and fool around with other men?

Qiu Chengyue had already started showering. He completely ignored her.

After he finished showering, he prepared a bath for Shen Shuyue as well. Then he carried her into the bathroom and helped her sit down on a chair.

Yet he still didn’t answer her question.

Shen Shuyue remained puzzled for a long, long time.

For some reason, she had the feeling that Qiu Chengyue intended to drag her down to hell with him.

He couldn’t have his beloved childhood sweetheart anymore, so he wasn’t going to let Shen Shuyue go out and enjoy herself either.

…

Taking a shower wasn’t difficult.

But taking off and putting on her pants was quite a troublesome task.

Shen Shuyue struggled in the bathroom for a long time. By the time she finally got dressed, she was sweating all over again.

Just as she was about to call for Qiu Chengyue to bring her wheelchair, he knocked on the door.

“Done?”

She had never been shy about ordering Qiu Chengyue around.

Qiu Chengyue walked in. Seeing that Shen Shuyue was already dressed, he bent down and carried her back to the sofa.

He still didn’t say a word.

Shen Shuyue wanted to ask him something, but in the end, she swallowed the question.

If he didn’t want to talk to her, then she didn’t want to talk to him either.

Some water had gotten onto Shen Shuyue’s injury while she was bathing.

She lifted her foot and slowly began unwrapping the bandage around it.

For a sprained ankle, she normally wouldn’t have needed a bandage.

But she had applied traditional Chinese herbal medicine, so she needed something wrapped around it to keep the herbs from falling off.

She had just loosened the bandage when Qiu Chengyue came out.

“What are you doing?”

His expression was as stern and cold as ever.

Just like before, there wasn’t a trace of unnecessary emotion on his face.

Shen Shuyue gave a little snort.

“It got wet.”

The bandage was completely soaked.

Qiu Chengyue looked at the bandage around her ankle.

“Wait.”

He had brought medicine back with him.

She had used traditional herbal medicine during the day, but at night, she only needed to apply some topical medicine.

He walked over to Shen Shuyue and crouched down. Slowly, he removed the herbal paste from around her ankle.

She had received treatment at the clinic earlier that day, and the swelling and redness around her ankle had already gone down considerably.

But it still hurt.

Qiu Chengyue carefully cleaned her ankle. Then he dipped a cotton swab into the medicine and gently applied it to her skin.

One hand supported her calf while the other carefully rubbed the medicine onto her ankle.

For some reason, his fingertips felt strangely hot.

Shen Shuyue watched his serious expression as he treated her injury, and for the first time, she felt a little guilty.

She had been bossing him around and making his life difficult all this time, yet here he was, still taking care of her…

A tiny bit of her conscience had finally awakened.

If this man didn’t have a childhood sweetheart, and if she were the only woman in his heart, spending the rest of her life with him wouldn’t actually be so bad.

Unfortunately, he didn’t like her.

The moment Shen Shuyue thought of Qiu Chengyue’s beloved childhood sweetheart, the little pang of guilt she had felt disappeared.

“Bring me the wheelchair. I’m going to the bedroom to sleep.”

Shen Shuyue ordered Qiu Chengyue around as naturally as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

Qiu Chengyue capped the medicine, then bent down and carried Shen Shuyue into the bedroom.

Shen Shuyue: “…”

Was he addicted to carrying her or something?

There was a perfectly good wheelchair, yet he insisted on carrying her.

Shen Shuyue leaned against the headboard and glanced at her watch.

It was still early. It was only nine o’clock at night.

She could still hear voices coming from next door.

After settling Shen Shuyue in, Qiu Chengyue walked out.

Not long afterward, he came back.

There was a pillow in his hand.

“I’m sleeping here tonight.”
