“Where does Professor Agasa live?”

“Beika Ward, District 2, Block 22.”

Perhaps out of a robber’s guilt toward his victim, Conan didn’t dare say a word in the car.Full novel: Conan: I Am the Moriarty of This World ( CCT ) — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

On the way to Professor Agasa’s house, Shouichi also remained silent, putting on a highly aloof front.

“Get out.”

The lights at Professor Agasa’s house were on, but when Conan rang the doorbell, no one answered.

Conan frowned.

Given the timing—he had just been captured by the Organization—the fact that no one was home at Professor Agasa’s was a terrifying sign.

Without hesitation, Conan started climbing the wall.

Shouichi watched blankly as Conan used his stubby little legs to scale the fence.

“The crime of trespassing is punished with varying degrees of severity depending on the circumstances.

Generally, you could face fines or imprisonment,” Shouichi said, glancing at his watch.

“It’s nighttime right now.

A nocturnal break-in usually means a longer prison sentence.”

Conan lowered his stubby little legs.

“I have a valid reason,” he said weakly.

Shouichi gave him a look.

*This guy is just as good at exploiting legal loopholes as I am.

No wonder he hasn’t been arrested in over a thousand episodes.*

Since Conan had a valid reason…

Under Conan’s dumbfounded gaze, Shouichi expertly picked the lock on Professor Agasa’s front door.

“Let’s go.”

“O-Oh.” Conan nodded, his little legs leading the way into the house.

“Why are you so good at picking locks?” Conan asked, bewildered.

“I always forget my keys, so it’s perfectly normal for me to be good at picking locks,” Shouichi replied with a straight face.

Conan eyed him suspiciously.

*Is that normal?*

Shouichi looked right back at him.

“Then why are you so good at climbing walls?”

“Ahaha!” Conan rubbed the back of his head.

“I also forget my keys a lot, so I’m just used to climbing walls.”

The two exchanged a look of mutual understanding and looked away.

Everyone’s excuses were perfectly normal.

Entering the house, the two of them carefully crept around with identical cat-like footsteps to check for any movement.

One look was enough to tell neither of them was a first-time burglar.

Reaching the living room, they saw a chubby man tied to a chair.

Beside that chubby man, a handsome middle-aged man was also tied up.

As soon as Conan walked in, the middle-aged man looked up and shouted, “Shin—Conan!

Run!”

Kudou Yukiko, disguised as Edogawa Fumiyo, walked out holding a bomb detonator.

Seeing a certain outsider, she clearly froze.

Sumitomo Shouichi?

Didn’t Yuusaku say he was going to explain things to him in a few days?

Why was he at their door right now?

Should they keep going with the act?

Yukiko looked at Kudou Yuusaku, who was equally bewildered.

Yet another unforeseen situation had popped up.

If they kept acting, the fact that Conan was Shinichi would be exposed.

But this play wasn’t something they could just stop whenever they wanted.

In the moment Yukiko froze at the sight of Shouichi, Conan kicked his soccer ball, landing a direct hit right on Yukiko’s chest.

“Ah!”

A sharp pain shot through Yukiko’s chest.

Conan was the type of person to relentlessly press his advantage once he had the upper hand.

The evil terrorist organization member was swiftly hogtied by Conan using a pink rope handed to him by Shouichi.

After she was tied up, Shouichi even helped tie a cute little bow on Yukiko’s ropes.

“Always double-tap a downed enemy; never play the merciful hero,” Shouichi said, highly approving of Conan’s ruthless follow-up.

Conan scratched his head.

Although their meeting had involved some misunderstandings, why did it feel like he and Shouichi were unexpectedly on the same wavelength?

“Wait a minute!”

The tied-up Kudou Yukiko tried to say something, but Shouichi handed his handkerchief to Conan, and Conan naturally used it to gag her.

“Mmph, mmph!”

Yukiko squirmed on the floor like a maggot.

Tied to their chairs, Kudou Yuusaku and Professor Agasa stared at each other in dismay.

This wasn’t in their script either!

Originally, their script dictated that Kudou Yuusaku and Professor Agasa would die in a heroic explosion right in front of Conan.

Then, Edogawa Fumiyo, played by Yukiko, would ruthlessly mock Shinichi.

The goal was to remind Shinichi to always remain cautious in the face of danger and help him perfect his strategies against the Organization.

But now, after a series of twists and turns, getting Shinichi arrested hadn’t ended the story, and Yukiko had actually been captured by him instead.

Even after Conan untied him, Kudou Yuusaku still hadn’t come up with an excuse.

“Let’s hand this person over to the police.

We must bring the hammer down on criminals like this,” Shouichi said.

“No!” the Kudou father and son shouted in unison.

After shouting, Conan hesitated.

Previously, he hadn’t told the police because there wasn’t enough evidence, and he was afraid the Organization would discover his identity and retaliate against the people around him.

Now, those concerns didn’t seem to exist.

“Sending her to the police seems fine, actually,” Conan said, scratching his scalp.

Kudou Yuusaku looked into his wife’s eyes.

He noticed that the raging fire in Yukiko’s eyes could no longer be concealed.

Being critically struck and taken prisoner by her own son was a bit too heavy a blow for a mother.

Thus, she desperately needed her son to feel the heavy weight of a mother’s love.

But what about Shouichi?

With an outsider present, they couldn’t just outright reveal Shinichi’s identity, could they?

Shouichi looked at Kudou Yuusaku.

“Do you have a problem with that?”

“No.” Kudou Yuusaku shook his head.

For the sake of his son’s secret identity, Yukiko would just have to suffer a little.

It was just a trip to the police station.

With his relationship with Inspector Megure, a brief explanation would easily get Yukiko out after a quick stroll through the precinct.

It would be a breeze.

“Mmph, mmph, mmph!”

Yukiko’s reaction was intense, as if she was extremely dissatisfied with her husband’s decision.

Shouichi nodded and said to Kudou Yuusaku, “Don’t worry.

Given your relationship with my father, I’ll definitely put in a good word with the police and the prison guards.

They’ll take *excellent* care of this criminal who kidnapped you.”

Kudou Yuusaku fell silent.

*That really isn’t necessary.*

“Mmph, mmph!”

Yukiko was still struggling.

“Actually, didn’t I tell you that Conan and I were just playing a game?” Kudou Yuusaku said.

“Oh?

What kind of game?” Shouichi asked, raising an eyebrow.

…

Shouichi’s villa.

Ai was using a paring knife to practice cutting fruit.

She was going to use this knife to avenge her sister and eliminate the murderer who killed her!

*Slice—*

The watermelon was split in two, its bright red juice splashing onto Ai’s face.

She didn’t mind.

She picked up a slice of watermelon and shoved it into her mouth, her teeth turning a bloody red, save for a single black watermelon seed stuck to one tooth.

Yuuko watched Ai cut the fruit with a beaming smile.

*What a cute and grateful little girl.*

*After being saved by Mr.

Shouichi, she’s practicing cutting fruit so diligently.

It must be so she can cut fruit for Mr.

Shouichi to eat.*

She secretly snapped a photo of Ai.

*I definitely have to show Mr.

Shouichi how hard this child is working.*
