Lin Xinyi provided the answer.
Everyone in their minds reconstructed the full picture of this Case:
About three hours ago, the Deceased died from Drowning, and due to his obese Physique, the Corpse floated directly to the surface, remaining undiscovered in the dark River water the whole time.
A little over ten minutes ago, the Corpse was accidentally struck by a passing Cruise Ship and consequently became Entangled in the Propeller.
The immense force of the Propeller cut the Corpse into several pieces, leaving numerous messy slash Injury marks on the Body surface.
During this process, the Corpse rotated at high speed along with the Propeller, scraping against the hull multiple times, causing extensive shedding of the outer skin.
Afterward, the Cruise Ship continued moving forward, leaving the dismembered pieces of the Corpse behind in that body of water.
Blood was lost in large quantities as the Corpse fragmented, dyeing the River water red, ultimately causing the passing Shinichi Kudo and Ran Mouri to witness that Shocking Blood waves phenomenon.
"So that's how it was."
"Because of a simple Accident, the Case details have become complicated on the surface."
Inspector Megure, knowing the Truth, couldn't help but sigh over the situation.
And the Truth of this Propeller-induced Dismemberment case sounded rather incredible.
However, no one present, including Shinichi Kudo, could Question Lin Xinyi's Conclusion.
Because every word he spoke was supported by Evidence.
Just as Lin Xinyi himself said, he wasn't performing Deduction; he was merely helping the Deceased speak.
"Wait," after a sigh, Inspector Megure suddenly noticed another issue: "This Evidence can only prove the Deceased died from Drowning and was accidentally Entangled by the Propeller; it doesn't prove it was Suicide."
"Brother Lin."
He casually changed his form of address:
"Why did you initially determine the Deceased died by Suicide?"
"Well..."
"The Clue leading to the speculation that the Deceased committed Suicide lies in the waist and abdomen area of the Corpse."
"Regarding this point, this Detective Kudo should have noticed it too, right?"
Lin Xinyi gave Shinichi Kudo a meaningful Gaze:
He had noticed earlier that the moment the Young Famous Detective saw the body parts, his gaze locked onto the Deceased's waist and abdomen.
Obviously, Shinichi Kudo had also noticed this detail on the Corpse.
"That's Right."
Shinichi Kudo nodded, explaining under Lin Xinyi's watch:
"I noticed right away that there was an Obvious Laceration mark caused by Rope Binding around the Deceased's waist and abdomen."
"Did the Murderer bind the Deceased?"
Inspector Megure subconsciously made a Guess.
"No, the Deceased most likely bound himself."
Lin Xinyi slowly spoke in denial:
"Because on the Deceased's Wrist—although only one hand has been recovered so far—we can still see that there are no Rope marks on the Deceased's Wrist."
"Only the waist was bound, but both hands were free to move?"
"If the hands were free, after the victim was pushed into the water, they could have untied the Rope themselves."
"Therefore, there is usually only one situation that can cause such a Rope mark..."
He paused slightly here.
And that Famous Detective named Shinichi Kudo picked up the conversation with great rapport:
"It was a suicide by jumping into the water."
"People who commit suicide by jumping into the water often bind a Heavy object around their waist so they cannot float to the surface after entering the water."
"So they will have Rope marks around their waist, but no traces of Binding on their wrists."
"The Deceased only has Rope marks on the waist and died from Drowning; this is most likely a case of suicide by jumping into water."
Shinichi Kudo reconstructed the Scene in an Orderly manner:
"I speculate the Deceased went into the water with a Heavy object bound around the waist and consequently drowned."
"And within the subsequent 3 hours, the Rope loop bound around the waist gradually began to Loosen due to the impact of the River water, allowing the Corpse to Break free from the Heavy object and float to the surface."
"This is the entire Truth of this Case."
Kudo concluded the Case by reconstructing the Scene based on his Deduction.
Lin Xinyi, however, out of professional Habit, carefully weighed his choice of words:
"It cannot yet be considered a final Conclusion, as I currently only have the conditions for Body surface examination and cannot completely Exclude other possibilities."
"But based on the Evidence collected so far, the Deceased most likely died by Suicide."
"Next, please send divers down to search carefully; the Rope and Heavy object left by the Deceased should be found at the bottom of the river."
"At the same time, the Police need to quickly Confirm the Deceased's Identity and confirm if the Deceased had a Motive for suicide through Door-to-door Investigation."
"If possible, a whole body Autopsy should be performed to confirm that the Deceased has no Subcutaneous hemorrhage caused by pre-mortem injuries."
"I Understood!"
Inspector Megure breathed a long sigh of relief:
Although Lin Xinyi's words always left room for maneuver, he could somewhat sense that this Case was basically settled:
"So the Truth is this simple!"
It turned out there was no Murderer in this Case at all.
With a simple Deduction by these two 'Shinichis,' Lin Xinyi and Shinichi Kudo, a Dismemberment case that caused Vicious social impact and immense Work pressure was solved so easily.
Thinking of this, the Police Officers present relaxed their expressions, just like Inspector Megure.
But Shinichi Kudo, who had just solved a Major Case, instead fell into Pondering.
"That's Right, the Truth is this simple..."
"The boat, the Propeller, a most simple Accident."
"Why didn't I think of that?"
This Answer was not difficult for the Famous Detective Shinichi Kudo.
If given more time to think, he should also have been able to see through the hidden Truth.
But no matter what,
this time he had been thoroughly left behind by Lin Xinyi.
Lin Xinyi had clearly seen through everything while he was Indecisive; obviously, this Detective confrontation was a loss for him, Shinichi Kudo.
Speaking of which, this seemed to be the first time he had lost in such a Detective confrontation?
Looking up, the Gaze Shinichi Kudo directed at Lin Xinyi had changed.
That look contained unwillingness, yet also respect and admiration:
"Mr. Lin Xinyi, are you also a Detective?"
"No."
Lin Xinyi shook his head decisively:
"I am not some Famous Detective you Imagine, nor am I much smarter than an ordinary person."
"The reason you were slower than me is simply because you lack some knowledge and Experience."
Although he had participated in solving quite a few Cases, including some Major Cases, Lin Xinyi had never considered himself a supernaturally intelligent Famous Detective like those in novels.
Because just as a programmer is good at programming, an architect understands design, and a mathematician is Good at calculation, performing an Autopsy was just a very ordinary Work skill for Lin Xinyi.
His proficiency in this area wasn't due to having a higher IQ than ordinary people, but because he spent more time and energy studying it than ordinary people did.
"Indeed."
Shinichi Kudo nodded thoughtfully:
"I am better at starting from Scene Clues other than the Corpse; Injury trace examination is not my specialty."
"If I knew a little more, perhaps I could see the Truth immediately like you."
For a High School Student, Shinichi Kudo's amount of knowledge was actually incredibly rich.
This was because he had an incredible Dad, and his Dad took him to an incredible Hawaii vocational school.
But while that Hawaii could teach him to drive cars, operate boats, and fly planes, it simply couldn't teach him how to perform an Autopsy.
Because this skill is useless if only read about; Strength can only be developed through long-term practice.
Even a Forensic Medicine student who graduated from a proper program and studied hard in this field would basically be clueless when first starting an internship, only able to help their mentor move Corpses.
Only by attending enough Scenes and seeing enough Corpses can one slowly grow into a Forensic Doctor who can take charge of one's own work.
The reason Shinichi Kudo lost this time was due to his lack of Experience in this area, making him unable to read the words the Corpse wanted to convey immediately, unlike Lin Xinyi.
"I Understood."
"I will work hard to train in this area!"
Shinichi Kudo said with full motivation.
"Uh, you do that."
Lin Xinyi smiled noncommittally:
He's just a High School Student, how many Corpses can he have to practice on?
Does he encounter dead people every day?
He should go back to studying hard and see if he can get into a famous medical school in the future.
"Mr. Lin Xinyi."
Shinichi Kudo said again full of Expectation:
"I hope we will have another chance to compete."
"..."
Lin Xinyi's smile faltered a bit:
Who would want a next time for something like this?
He gets so excited when encountering a dead person; are you really a High School Student?
That's Right, not just this Shinichi Kudo—
it seemed everyone, including the onlookers, held a peculiar enthusiasm for Criminal Cases.
Even that Terrifying Dismembered Corpse couldn't completely scare them off; there were even many women and Children among the onlookers.
For example, that seemingly delicate Miss Ran Mouri; although she was clearly scared pale by those scattered body parts, she still managed to stay on the side, fully engaged in appreciating Shinichi Kudo's on-scene Deduction.
"Have I arrived somewhere Strange?"
Lin Xinyi gradually realized that this world was a bit off.
