But one step at a time.
Filling up the cargo hold as much as possible sounds like the first thing to do.
As long as I can actually fix Bessie and make some food.
Enough waiting around lets get busy.
This is the only way I can get rid of the anxiety of still being stuck here, and this is all some hypoxia delusion.
That’s when my shoulders involuntarily sagged.
Ugh this is tiring.
I can feel my stamina draining.
Faster than I’ve ever felt.
Once the ball of metal is the size of a beach ball I run back to the hole in the ceiling and raise it up to the hole expecting it to fill up automatically… umm any time now.
[You have to envision the metal flat and then add enough to fill in for the missing part] Ahh that makes sense.
I focus on the jagged edges of the hole and sense the metal, trying to synchronize my thoughts with the metal.
The view of the metal disappears and its sound/smell/aura ‘signature appears.
I envision myself folding all the edges flat and then envision the metal in my ‘beach ball’ to shear off and fly to the hole.
It fills in the gaps then merges with the edges.
I ‘see’ the new and old metal edges joining, then merging… Finally after 5 minutes of focus and excitement it’s done.
The ceiling is smooth and clean.
Seems newer than the rest of the metal around it.
Nice and shiny vs old and dull.
But in my ‘vision’ they are identical.
The new metal resonance is slightly higher energetically than the old metal but its signature is the same.
As I swap back to normal vision from resonance, the hole looks perfect.
Smooth and no imperfections.
No signs of welding.
Nothing but continuous metal plating.
Boring and gorgeous.
Hells yeah half way there.
Just the window in the bridge to fix and i can sleep in my own bed again tonight.
Oh yes.
With this thought in mind all i can think about is the bed calling my name, and move to the bridge with purpose now.
As I get there it’s obvious this’ll be more difficult than last time.
This windshield is Crysteel HiVis.
It’s harder than steel and invisible.
I realize it wont be perfect but as long as it holds air and I can see, then it’s fine.
Mainly the hold air part is most important.
I’m not even sure if I need to see to be able to dock at the spaceport, it’s all automatic anyway.
I’m still walking with my slightly smaller now beach ball of metal.
Glancing at it questioningly, I guess it won’t be much use for the next fix.
I allow the ‘ball’ to harden and land on the deck and move to the windshield.
Seemingly in a hurry now I resonate with the windshield to get an idea of its makeup.
I stare at the window waiting for it to open itself to me.
First the aura color is yellow and it sounds like a guitar string.
The smell is strawberries and there’s something else.
Something more than the metal.
There’s a tactile feeling as well.
It’s a rough feeling.
Not smooth.
Like a flat surface with bumps on it or scratches on a smooth surface.
I start looking around like I’m searching for something and Exie guesses what it is.
[You can use the refined metal or ore but the energy required will be much more than if you find a more suitable raw material.
Since you’ve just awoken you powers and your reservoir is newborn, it might be more productive to find something better suited to make a window] ‘Make a window..
Make a window’ as I absentmindedly stare out the window thinking about windows a thought comes to mind.
A smile then graces my face.
I grab a piece of glass shard and head for the exit.
Heading outside, I stand in front of the bridge, looking up at the window.
Then I look at the ground.
Asteroidal regolith.
Its composition is usually related to the type of asteroid, rocky asteroids make rock dust, silica asteroids make silica dust, metallic asteroids make metal dust.
I just hope there’s enough of whatever I need on the rocky asteroid.
Sure an S(silica) class might be better but you use what you got.
Activating the resonance, I stare at the glass shard in my hand and get into sync with it.
Strawberry, yellow, guitar, rough.
Yellow strawberry, rough guitar.
Yeah that’s it.
Yellow strawberry, rough guitar.
I keep repeating those 4 words over and over again.
Like a mantra.
Yellow guitar, rough strawberry.
Sometimes tripping over the order, maybe I should focus on the order as well.
It might be a component of its ‘signature’.
Fine.
yellow guitar, strawberry rough.
Over and over again.
Over and over.
Yellow guitar strawberry rough.
I stretch my hand to the ground with my palm down and ‘call’ the yellow guitar strawberry rough.
Yellow guitar strawberry rough.
Nothing one second.
Yellow guitar strawberry rough.
Nothing second second.
CMON!
Yellow guitar strawberry rough.
Come to me.
Finally something.
Some vibration underground.
Feels like its coming from right under my feet.
I step aside but keep ‘calling’ out to it.
Yellow Guitar Strawberry Rough!
And then… little fireflies jump from the ground up towards my hand and then stop 6 inches below.
I can almost hear the pop sound when they jump out of the ground.
Like jumping beans or sparks off a sparkler, they escape the dirt and join together right under my hand.
It takes much more energy to draw them than the metal.
Keep coming, I just need enough to fix the window.
Cmon.
cmon.
Now I’m calling it like I’m calling a scared puppy.
You can do it.
Come to me.
My energy is dropping quickly; I’ve got to wrap this up now.
Once the ball of glass(i hope) is the size of a basketball, i stop calling it and can breathe.
At this point I’m definitely feeling the lack of mana or stamina.
Whatever.
“Exie, I’m starting to feel exhausted.
I guess this is from my mana usage?” [Yes, the loss of mana leads to many negative effects.
Dizziness, nausea, visual hallucinations, pain and even passing out are all symptoms of low mana.
Passing out is usually from completely draining your reservoir.
It’s quite dangerous to do but also helps grow the total size of your reservoir] “What?
So I can grow my mana bank?
Use it or lose it I guess.
But… I also don’t want to pass out in my EVA(extra vehicular activity, space) suit.
That could be fatal.” [If you feel faint you must stop immediately, otherwise you could faint and who knows when you might wake up, if at all] “Thanks mom.
Ill be careful” Ok one more push and then i can rest.
So exhausted.
This whole week of stress not knowing if I’d live or die and now having a nearly empty mana pool.
Let’s do this.
Picking up the glass ball, I notice its color is darker than the glass windshield but don’t care.
I just want it to hold out the vacuum of space.
Back inside, I mentally prepare myself for this final battle.
Not quite sure I’ve got enough mana for this.
Wait!
In case I pass out I need to begin the pressure cycle to refill the Bessie with air.
If i start it now, it will begin in about 5 minutes to add air and if i pass out all i have to do is take off my helmet then I’ll be fine.
If I fail to fix the window I can just turn off the air cycle procedure.
The only danger is if I fail to fix it and pass out.
Then all my air escapes and I’m dead.
If I’m dead then no air is no big deal, but let’s try not to die.
I run over to the airlock and start the aircycle to add air to the bridge, and then run back to the window.
The timer is started.
5 minutes.
We can do this.
Entering resonance is becoming easier each time I use it and now it’s as easy as blinking.
The glass ball in one hand.
I sync up with the window(yellow guitar, strawberry rough) and then I match it with the glass ball.
Counting to 10 is enough for the window, myself, and the ball to all be resonating together.
Heart surgery time now.
I carefully bring the glass ball to the window, like a priest bringing an offering, and close my eyes.
I call the glass ball into motion and it liquifies (apparently).
As it spins, fat blobs separate and flow to the hole in the glass.
It splashes on the glass and sticks.
Ok next one floats to another section of broken glass.
Then another and another.
The whole lip of the hole is now covered in the ‘molten’ glass.
A final, large dollop of glass the size of a billiards ball floats into the last hole and plugs it.
Not done yet, got just a couple minutes left.
Closing my eyes, I ‘feel’ the window through resonance and focus on the edges of the hole and the liquid.
Smooth the edges.
Massage the spots where they meet to encourage union.
Scrape the excess material and flatten the inner and outer faces of the glass.
In my resonant vision, the edges aren’t as pronounced.
They seem to be melding.
I imagine stirring it with a stick to mix up the new and old: crossing both the new and old ,imagining stirring them together.
Finally a last smoothing and then I step back, deactivating resonant vision.
There in front of me is a seemingly perfect window.
Maybe a little darker in that section but its really there.
Fixed.
Ready to go.
Omg I’m not gonna die here.
Thank you thank you [Good work host.
That’ll do, pig.
That’ll do.]
